Mon., 5/25/2026 - Went to Del Meyer Park. Address is 9265 Elk Grove Florin Rd, Elk Grove, CA 95624. There is a paved pathway by the river you can walk. Easy to walk, wagon friendly, stroller friendly, bike friendly. The park was so clean, quiet, there's tables and bbq grills, bathroom, two play grounds, exercise area, baseball/soccer field, & parking. I saw people fishing, bikers biking by, teenagers on scooters and small electric bikes, family walking, and dogs on leash walking by. It was so nice. We had a mini picnic there, while kids play. I love the walk. Pick up after yourself and keep the pathway, nature and park clean. I saw free dog doody bags provided at the park. so people can use it to pick up after their dogs. This is a nice park and nice, easy hike. Love it! read more

Over the last few years, I have become such a hermit crab and rather keep to myself. But recently, one of my friends and neighbor noticed this and decided to invite me for a nice walk with her dog to a park located in Elk Grove. I had never heard of this place before, and actually looked forward to joining her, just to get out of my house and commune with nature for a change. Located off of Elk Grove Florin Rd and Bond Rd, we arrived into this quiet little nature reserve, and parked in the adjoining parking lot right at the entrance. There are houses that line the park, but the residents do a great job of blending in and maintaining their well landscaped properties. The trail begins with a welcome sign, visitor rules, descriptive history and a map, along with a list of what plants, birds and other animals you may encounter. Treating the park with respect is number one priority. My friend, her cute little dog and I started our walking adventure with determined enthusiasm! There is a paved trail that leads you along Laguna Creek's natural ecosystem which provides a home for many water dependent wild life. I really enjoyed our outing that lasted for many hours of conversation, exercise, meeting other friendly hikers and bikers, and best of all, watching birds and turtles living a protected life in this swamp like habitat. This area is also home to several feral cats that are spayed, neutered and well fed! Don't expect this park to be perfect. The paved trail is bumpy and not complete, the stagnant areas of water is thickly green with algae, and the wilderness pretty much fends for itself. But If you keep walking for about 3 miles, you can cross a bridge that connects you to Jack E. Hill Park, where visitors can enjoy picnicking and relaxation. As we made our way back to the car, I couldn't help but feel somewhat energized with a better outlook on my life! Nature does that to me! read more

5 stars! Out of all the places I've walked my dogs, needed that hikey feel or just needed more nature & water but didn't want to drive far from my busy suburbia to get there, this is where I go. Typically for a longer stroll I will park at Starbucks, get a drink, then cross the street to Del Meyer's 3.1 miles out & back path. But if not, I will just park here. The best part about this stroll is how naturey it is. There's wild cats, squirrels, dirt paths, fallen branches, murkey icky slow crawling water that is so slow, likely no fish can live in there, but that's all the naturey beauty of it--to me. You may be able to spot egrets, ducks, hawks, and sometimes river otters or goats. The wild cats that are so friendly, that obviously have people feeding them food, that give this walk a sweet, cared for homey vibe. After 9am there's lots of e- bikers, joggers, families, dogs, kids all along the dirt that turns into a paved, wheelchair/stroller friendly path. If you keep walking you'll pass a bridge, a track of some sort, & at the very end you will get to a park with a playground, bathroom & grassy area. My favorite part of this walk is how far from Elk Grove it seems. Our little big city has gotten so busy with new neighborhoods & In & Outs that this place is a refuge, seemingly so untouched by humans for the first 30 minutes of the walk. It's comforting to disengage from the brick & mortar familiarities of Elk Grove, from the chains & addictions of social media's instant gratification & see actual trees, dirt & water that have no rhyme, reason or order except for pure nature itself. Great park to stop by for a nice chill stroll. This park actually sits between Camden/Glenn E Underwood and Jack E Hill Park. In this way it's more of a transition park that is good for walking and connecting to other parks. Most of this park is actually just the trail and the creek they run along side. If you are looking for a place to just park your car and watch the kids at the playground, Jack E Hill is much better. Otherwise if you are looking for a short 3 mile walk, this place is great! Also good for those short bike rides with the family. Only real issue I have with this park is the busy road way it runs along. There is a crosswalk light, but important to watch the traffic. Also the trail runs right up to the roadway and sidewalks and is somewhat of a blind corner cause of the bushes. Definitely worth a visit when the creek is high and for bird watching. One final thing to note, the area around the railroad tracks are currently under construction and is closed to the public. read more

First time visiting this nature trail. It was a great walk and had some lovely views. You start on Elk Grove Florin and end up on waterman and bond. It's nice to have areas strictly for walking and biking. Elk Grove has tons of parks and it's awesome to be able to take advantage of these trails seems like there far and few these days so I am very grateful to have this in my area. read more

Be careful, don't stay long. Short trails. Lots of homeless/transient people. If you want to get a full walk or run in this is not the place. Cute place to park, stay in your car and get caught up on last night's show that your partner talked through the entire night. Other than that just don't. read more

Location: West of Starbucks on Bond and Elk Grove Florin. This place was OKAY. It's a small little bike trail/park, a good place to warm up for your next bike event. Heard some cool things about this park how it was a $250,000 project. However, it seems like they ran out of money 3/4 of the way and didn't finish paving some of the trail making it hard to bike. Also, everything seems really old and not much upkeep have been done for a whIle. 1. Okay place to walk your dog. 2. Okay place to stroll. 3. Okay place to fish 4. Not that great to bike, bumpy black top and sandy roads. Overall, it is not the best I have seen! Will be looking forward to exploring other bike trails. read more

I agree with Vikki S's review from 2 years ago - this place gave me the creeps. I just didn't like the energy. Most of the trail backs up to people's homes so I didn't get the full "park feel". Lots of dry foxtails and weird bushes. And tons of cats?!? There was a person pushing a cart with a giant bag of Friskies cat food. There were lots of bikers and runners; I felt like I was "in the way" a lot. At the beginning of the trail was a ferocious German Shepherd wanting to attack us through the fence of someone's backyard. Not a fan and not good for kids either. read more

I was looking for a change of scenery and a new place to do some running... ok more like jogging/ walking. I turned to yelp and it gave me a short list of places. I found Del Meyer Park thanks to the one yelper who reviewed it. The park is on Elk Grove-Florin next to Bond. I would think most people who pass by wouldn't even know it's a park. All you would see is a parking lot from the street, but behind the parking lot is a paved trail. The trail lies next to Laguna Creek and doesn't loop around. The surroundings were nice but the creek didn't look too clean. The trail is about 2.5 miles round trip. There were a lot of little bugs flying around on certain parts of the trail, so keep your mouth closed. read more

Great spot. Park in the Del Meyer lot off of Elk Grove-Florin Road, or at the other end off of Waterman Road. Paved trail along the creek, waterfowl in the morning, mostly ducks and egrets. The trail passes under the railroad tracks, and also has arteries from neighborhood cul-de-sacs, and the bridge to Jack E. Hill Park with restrooms, playground, etc. about halfway along the trail. Lots of walkers, runners, dog-walkers, stroller-walkers, bicyclists. Picnic bench under a grand oak tree for when you need a break. Sometimes even spot people fishing in the creek. It's about 2.5 or 3 miles roundtrip and a decent place to get those early steps in. read more

I went to this trail once and I felt a bit underwhelmed. First, I felt like the parking lot plus the beginning of the trail felt a bit unsafe because it looked a bit creepy and unkept! After running along the trail, I caught the train going by! That was probably my favorite part about the trail. I definitely stopped and watched the train go by as the sun set behind it! It was a great view! Other than that, the trail is too short to get a good run and when I got back, I didn't feel safe because of these random guys just hanging out in the parking lot and a random car that looked like a homeless person's car because it was filled with clothing and belongings! Overall I haven't gone back but if I needed to get some more length to my runs from the Camden neighborhood, I'd force myself to run here, but as far was parking here, I didn't feel as if I was safe and I didn't feel as if my car would be okay as well! Just be extra cautious and don't go too late or alone! read more

This is such a great park to come to if you enjoy running or biking. This park consists of a long concrete path along a small river that is great for these activities. My friend Patrick and I have gone jogging along this road quite a few times. We also see a lot of other runners/walkers along the way. Halfway along the path, there is a nice park area with a jungle gym and swings for kids. There are also restrooms and a drinking fountain here as well. There has never been any trouble along this path and everyone who uses it is very friendly. Great for walking your dogs on too! read more

I woke up eager to switch up my surroundings with a run this morning. I am training for a 1/2 marathon and because Elk Grove isn't exactly a walker's nor runner's paradise I rejoined a gym to get in my miles on days when EG park is a tad too mushy and cold for my liking. My grandparents live very near Del Meyer park but I hadn't been there since I was a child! Yelp steered me here today and I was very grateful for the change of pace. It doesn't loop around but from the parking lot to the park across the bridge the distance is one mile. If you reach every corner of the trails it's approximately 2.5 miles round trip. I made a few treks around and back again to get in my miles, it got a tad repetitive, but you can definitely get creative and run into the neighborhoods, back across EG Florin Rd and toward Camden if you have a lot of miles to log! I will definitely be back. read more

Big fan of this spot. Since moving to the area, I've looked around (frequently to no avail) to find something similar to the excellent running/biking paths in the Bay Area. This easy-to-miss spot is probably the closest I'll get to what I am used to so I definitely appreciate it. read more
