This was the capital area all blocked off by fences. The festival was free but they checked bags for security and had you pour out water (in case it wasn't water). I couldn't find any water station and got dehydrated. There was one I was later told, but I couldn't find it.The Fest includes many, many business vendors, some food & beverage vendors, and live performances all weekend long. You have to buy tickets for food and drink. Then just give the tickets for a drink. The prices were reasonable for a parade but since you could only buy tickets in bunch's and the tickets, drink, and food lines were so long we had extra tickets. There was a decent amount of drink choices, alcoholic and not. The food choices were more snackish or bar food. There was a couple food trucks, but there's also restaurants in the area outside pride. Saturday had a 5k walk/ run at 9:30am which raised over $195,483.78. Sunday has the parade. I was in the parade. The set up was somewhat confusing with the red vs. orange and numbers restarting at 1. It wasn't clear where to guess your spot in the waiting line, but the organizers probably don't have a good guess for the amount of space each business will use in the line. Also the cars separate from the walkers at the end; the car was my ride. We had a difficult time walking more and connecting up.

When this was advertised as being the largest festival of it's kind in the country, that was not an exaggeration. This was by far the largest festival of any kind that I have I've ever been too. Just goes to show that Denver is a very forward thinking and progressive city and I'm proud to call it my home.

The ambience is awesome and artistic. This is worth the trouble to get in and out of the parking lot. Tickets are hard to come by, but if we had planned a bit in advance I think we could have gone when we wanted to. However we did enjoy our time in the gardens and viewing all the light displays.

The Denver Mile High Tree has been a holiday tradition since 2019, but it has led a somewhat…read morecheckered existence, starting on 16th Street and then moving to the DCPA Sculpture Park, Civic Center Park, and in 2025 to the Tivoli Quad on the Auraria Campus. The tree is 110 feet tall (higher than the Rockefeller Center tree and tallest in North America) with 60,000 LEDs and choreographed light and music shows. It's a free event, operating from late November to New Year's. One of the best aspects is the ability to walk inside the tree which is 39 feet in diameter at the base and accomodates quite a few people. You can lie on the grass and look up at the amazing images which is a surreal experience. The tree was a collaboration between Spain's ILMEX Illumination and Brut Deluxe studio. It is definitely worth a visit.

Everyone working there was very friendly and full of information on the animals if you asked. I would highly recommend this place. Seems like it's a well run sanctuary for animals that were down on their luck. Oh and be sure to wear close toed shoes, and while they have washing stations, I recommend bringing hand sanitizer for after you pet the animals.

So when a Yelp friend suggested we attend the fifth annual Chef and Brew Festival I was all in! So we made our way to EXDO Event Center to indulge in some brew and culinary pairings from the Mile High City's finest. What struck me first was how excited both the brewers and the chefs were about their particular pairings. Love the enthusiasm! While the pairings were very unique - that's not always a good thing. Some of them were almost trying too hard, while others nailed it, like Mizuna and Avery Brewing Company - their steamed bun with pork shoulder and pickled carrots were delish with the ginger sour beer. Some were just plain weird, take Citizen Rail and Crooked Stave - the muscle palisade peach concoction paired with a petite sour peach was just too odd for me. I can say safely that I had an overwhelming amount of seafood. There were at least three ceviches that I tried in one evening. Yikes! Set-up wise it was just a bit tight for general admission. There were very few tables (bar top height) throughout the space; making it terribly awkward to try and hold your taster of beer while eating your food; let alone satisfy your inner foodie and take a picture. Non-contestant vendors included: Bark Thins, Cutco, Corvus Coffee Roasters, and many more! There was also a company doing live screen-printing. For $20 you got to pick a shirt and a ink color to create your own Chef and Brew logoed shirt! Neat, though a bit rich for my blood after ticket cost. It was def a great concept! I can't believe I've missed the previous years! It's going on my "festival watch list" for the coming years.

Also, my parents used the audio sets, provided at the disability desk, and it was absolutely worth it. I highly recommend taking advantage of those headphones if you have trouble hearing in a rounded theater. I think they loved the show even more because they didn't have to strain to hear it!
