I came with a printout of exactly what I wanted, but he made some minor modifications to the design to make it more tattoo friendly and make it fit. Everyone at Proton Tattoo was great and the facility was very organized and clean. I would recommend it to anyone.

Not only do his skills speak for himself, he's pretty damn funny and he's also always creating custom pieces that never fail to blow me away as well as every person that comes across his work. I've been coming here since probably 2013 to get work done and couldn't be happier, he gets me in at a time that works for both of us and works hard to ensure that I'm 100% happy and free with my choices, like color selection, etc. I don't think I'll be seeing another artist for awhile when I've got someone that can create CRAZY custom pieces at a good price. If you need ink you'll adore and you want something that can't be found on Pinterest, this is your place.

I highly recommend her not just for her technical ability but also for her artistic talents. Don't miss this hidden gem in Sycamore. Make an appointment with Starr. You won't be disappointed!

(no, i am not upset at the apprentice they handled the situation very well but they also were watching a movie on the TV that they have while doing my tattoo...) an hour goes by and my tattoo is finished, it got wrapped up they took pictures and off i went. I got home and my tattoo was missing a nose, minor piece just a dot but still it makes a difference. I went back later that day and they said they could fix it the next. FASFORWARD THE NEXT DAY... i walk into the shop the apprentice is sick so now the actual tattoo artist has to fix it. Great. They did not have the picture of my tattoo up they just put whatever they felt looked right and when they asked if there was anything else that was missed they asked in such a rude way like they were being inconvenienced by fixing my tattoo that THEYRE apprentice messed up... i'm not going back there nor letting anyone close to me go to this tattoo business. i'm sorry this was so long.

Let them know I'd be coming after work (literally told them I get off at 7:15 in Elgin) she said sounds good. Yesterday I get there at 7:45 and they were gone! No one was there. Called and sent them a fb message. Not once did anyone mention they stop taking walk in at 7:30pm. I drove 25 min each way. Gas is around $5 a gallon. Their response was even crazier. Blaming being short staffed on Sunday but that was irrelevant. Then also told me I have to pay for new jewelry even if it is their fault on sizing. I wanted to love them so bad. The shop is so cute and the girls are sweet. But the lack of communication is ridiculous. Especially since I messaged them before 7:30pm yesterday to say I'm coming!

We went in for a "couples tattoo" that we had been discussing with Jennie for a while. Soon as we walked in she had the stencils drafted up and ready to go.
