I've been to Deicke for many, many, many meetings. I've also been the guest of a Sweet Sixteen party there, and I've been there for several fundraisers. (Italian diviners, local small- business events, penny auctions, etc.). The staff there is very nice and helpful, and they are willing to work with you to make your event perfect.
There is plenty of free parking which is nice. Once you enter; there is a foyer, sparkling clean restrooms, and the office. There is a small meeting room situated to the left of the foyer, big enough for a meeting with 20-25 guests. To the right there is a large room that can accommodate 250 people, and it can also be divided up in to 3 smaller meeting rooms.
They have a full restaurant-style kitchen, (stove, oven, warming oven with trays, large refrigerator, freezer, and ice machine.) This is so convenient if you are hosting an event or a party where food needs to be prepared, stored, or just heated up.
One of the drawbacks of Deicke Auditorium is that there is minimal decor. (Sometimes there are paintings/photographs on the walls that are on display from the Art Guild,) but at other times the walks are mostly bare. There are a lot of rules about decorating, (no tape, nails, things hanging from the ceiling, etc.,) so it's hard to create a festive mood unless you're paying a lot of money for a professional party company to put up backdrops to cover the walls.
Overall it's a great place for meetings and informal gatherings; but there are many other more beautiful locations out there if you are planning a special event. read more
