Hi everyone that reads this review. In todays world of online shopping I guess we have all been spoiled by Amazons fast delivery of goods that we may order. I fully understand that all businesses cannot deliver that same quickness for various and obvious reasons. I was pleased to find the items that I needed here at a decent price. Yes I did find the same items much cheaper but unfortunately {out of stock} at several other places and also with much cheaper shipping cost. I did fully understand the 7-10 day processing duly noted on the site .they do seem to be right on track for that time, but when you set a low bar you tend to become complacent in satisfying customers expectations being able to revert back to the , "well we said 7-10 days" and feel good about it. I do work in the firearms retail sector myself and also understand that it isn't always possible to please everyone every day and to always deliver the best service possible due to unseeable constraints. But by encountering hundreds of customers you eventually learn ways to improve those ever present shortfalls that will occur .Sadly I cannot say that I can promote your store as highly as many others that I have purchased from to those customers that sometimes ask where to find accessories for firearms that may not be readily in stock at our , or other locations but I will be sure to let them know that the shipping cost was more than the cost of the items purchased and that if that do not mind waiting they could check your site and matbe find what they are looking for. What a joke of a store. I contacted customer service before placing my order to confirm the product I needed was in stock. They assured me it was and even told me that it was being pulled from their warehouse. Two weeks went by with zero communication or updates. I followed up multiple times with no response until I finally got someone on the phone.. only to be told the product was not in stock. Placed an order in June, checked back on it a month later and got some line about how their inventory system crashed and they, in fact, never had the item in stock. I was told I would receive a refund by check. 6 weeks and several phone calls and emails later assuring me it would be a top priority, still no refund. Ultimately had to dispute the charge with visa to get refunded. Hard to call it anything other than a scam. Buyers beware! read more

Bought a g49 from them. They were consistent with their communication and were upfront about the wait time. They were actually a couple days early on shipment. If you cant handle the posted wait times shop elsewhere but i was rewarded for my wait as the price was too good to pass up. If i had any issues they were quick to respond within one day. Stay far away from this company. My husband placed an order on 6/7/2025. The website states it will take 10-14 business days to ship. He contacted them 1 time by email and 1 time by phone on and before July 7th. They responded with "there was a critical database corruption so things were taking an additional 10-14 business days" and asked if we still wanted the order, however, they only sent a part of the order. It is 8/6/2025 and he emailed and called over 10 times with no response. He disputed the charge with the credit card company and the seller has 45 days to respond to the dispute. As of today, he let them know that they have been reported and has disputed it with the credit card company. We even heard they've been taken off gun.deals due to their lack of credibility. DO NOT order from Defense Depot in Mattoon Illinois. They will gladly take your money and not deliver your product. They will not respond to emails or voicemail. Thought I had purchased an HK USP45 Elite on or around June 18, 2025... After 3 weeks of silence, I reached out to the FFL, no work from Defense Depot, and so I contact this CLOWN at Defense Depot. The BOZO at Defense Depot gave me some lame duck reason as to what was going on, and blamed external parties... Incompetence or criminality are not excuses, and accountability is the first sign of legtimacy. After July 8 or 9, when I send an Email, it is Crickets... On July 25, I get an email stating that their Google account was hacked, and they will need to mail a check out/ contact those affected directly by phone. I hear nothing, no phone calls, zero... I doubt their check will even cash! This clown really thinks he can treat folks this. It's not right. MORAL OF STORY- do your homework, even for a good to great deal, check online Reviews before committing to spending any money. They had an unbeatable price on mags for my handgun, but that turned out to not even matter because my order was NEVER delivered. I ordered on 6/2/25 and knew that there would be a wait time. Their website said 10-14 business days. When it hit 15 business days I had still heard NOTHING from the company. I emailed them 3 times and called countless times and never got an answer or reply in either form of communication. I initiated a chargeback and I finally got an automated email saying my order was ready to ship on 7/3/25. Half my order wasn't even in this email! Needless to say I was annoyed by this point. They finally contacted me on 7/15 saying they noticed the chargeback and the owner wanted to speak with me and make things right. I emailed back saying sure and gave them a call. They actually answered the phone for the first time just to tell me the owner was busy but would call me by 6pm. It is now 7/22 and I never received a call back, even after following up with them through email once more. They ended up emailing me back today saying "we are good to go, we have your product if you want it, just drop the chargeback." !!! Why would I possibly pay full price after getting jerked around and waiting nearly 2 months for my order? I ended up ordering the mags straight from S&W on 6/24 after the chargeback and got them delivered to my door by 6/29. Never ordering from Defense Depot again! read more

I truly feel this company is just out to scam people. I ordered a rifle from them. After getting no tracking info or ANYTHING almost a month later I started trying to contact them. I called, left a voicemail with my contact info and a request to call me back. I sent them numerous emails also and no response to any of it. I finally filed a fraud complaint with my credit card company. Once Defense Depot got the charge back, and realized they lost my money, they have called me once and emailed me twice claiming they had internal issues, now have a new manager, etc, etc, etc and want me to reverse my charge back. Scammers still trying to scam. BUYER BEWARE! I bought from Palmetto State Armory instead and had my rifle in hand in less than 2 weeks. read more

I just completed an online complaint form with the BBB. I strongly recommend all of you do also. Bought a TLR-8 G SUB WITH GREEN LASER on May 2nd. Wasn't the right model for my gun. They agreed to take it back for a 15% restocking fee which is bullshit to begin with. On July 25th I received this email from "Ryan". Dear Josh, This is Ryan with Defense Depot. They drag their feet on everything except taking your money, it took over a month before the FFL even got the gun. If there is something wrong with the gun like a defect from the factory, that they do not tell you about it when you order in the first place. Instead they just ship it and you have to either send it back and pay the 15% restocking fee or take it with the defect. read more

Just like everyone else is saying, they took my money, and then said my ammo would should in 10-14 business days. After a month went by, I still hadn't received any order, and there was no information about tracking or progress. I purchased from them and after weeks of not receiving the item i contacted them. They said there was a problem with the order and I could either wait longer or get a refund. Why couldn't they contact me after the problem was discovered and offer a refund immediately instead of wasting my time and tying up my bank account for weeks so that I may purchase from a more reliable vendor?
