My son had some car issues a few times while attending Winona State. The local places recommended were always backed up for weeks so I gave them a shot. First, they are very friendly but not trying to sale something you don't need. They send a price quote via text. You look over the quote, except it and they get it done. I went in to get my window (that fell off its track) fixed, I've had to go for this one time before and it was a great experience! Super nice and helpful guy. This second time around however, I had come in with a previous diagnostic on what was really wrong with the windows and why this issue kept happening. I explained what the issue was and that I was just looking to get the window up before I go get it actually fixed. The guy (not the same one as before) disregarded everything I had said and recommended parts that I knew would not fix the issue entirely. Also couldn't get the window up like the other guy could the previous time. Paid $50 for them to not get the window up and to get an incorrect diagnosis on the issue. They are all very very nice people I was just confused as to why every time I told them what I knew was wrong (from another auto care specialist), I was completely disregarded. read more

So about 4 years ago I had a bad experience at Dee's. It would seem that a new owner and management has changed my experience. Even though it cost a pretty penny to fix my exhaust I am happy with the results. I appreciated being brought into the garage and being shown exactly what was wrong instead of taking someone's word. The customer service I received was excellent. Andy, who is the new manager, treated me very well and went above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied and to ensure I left a happy customer. Price Gougers! The shop was timely and did provide good service in assisting my daughter to get back & forth to pick up her car. However, they charged $541 for an ignition coil that was available right down the street at NAPA for $279. I'm sure they paid even less and then stuck me with the excessive markup. I don't begrudge them their need to make a profit but this kind of margin is absurd. I sent an email weeks ago and they have not responded. To make matters worse I found the exact same OEM part on Amazon for $59. I guess they know when they have a college student over a barrel & feel a need to stick it to dad's credit card. Response to your post. We could refute each other all day but what's the point? I said I was happy with how you treated my daughter. Undeniable fact is that you marked the part by almost 100% and you knew you already had the only part in Winona in hand from NAPA so my options were gone. So about two months ago I took my Lexus into Dee's in Winona to see if they could do something about the exhaust noise. Later that day I received a call from the tech stating that I would need an entirely new exhaust system because the hole where the noise was coming from couldn't be patched. I asked them how much that would cost and they already had the estimate wrote up, $1538.00!!!!!!!!!!! "would you like us to fix it?" I said no I couldn't afford that at this time and they said ok. Funny thing about this estimate, #1, ordering the same parts online, exhaust, gaskets, bolts etc would cost $568.00 Free Shipping. Labor would be about 80 bucks if they installed it. #2 and this is the kicker, I took it to Daul Toyota Winona to have them do a rear brake job that was needed. The tech there called me back with an estimate and just so happen to ask if I wanted the noise in my exhaust fixed too. I told them no because I was told by DEE'S it would require a new exhaust system installed. The tech laughed and said all your car needs are two new gaskets because they are leaking! Gaskets 25 bucks a piece x2 and the labor to replace them. Explain to me how your service tech saw a "HOLE" that wasn't there and also failed to see the leaking gaskets? read more
