This winery is so cute and quaint. I came here for a group Valentine's Day event. They had a Valentine's Day themed igloo with cute seats, blankets, lights, heaters, a table. The employee was nice enough to make us dessert cones as well. The wine and food is a separate charge. You order inside. My friend and I split the white wine flights. You can choose which one you want. I just remember the Delaware being my least favorite. The other three were yummy, on the sweeter side, but not too sweet! The wine was fresh and citrusy. I am no sommelier but for someone who drinks wine occasionally, I mean a couple times a year, I enjoyed it! The ambiance is stunning. The indoor space is just as cozy as the outdoor space. The employees are also very accommodating and sweet. I was having issues with turning the light on, but with just one call, she came over and took her time to fix it. On a Friday evening my sister took us to this lovely winery located in the outskirts of Lincoln. We were greeted promptly and selected our wine, and also ordered a meat and cheese board. (We were a group of 5) We found a seat outside and enjoyed a lovely Nebraska summer evening. Small quaint winery. We went with family and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. There is a parking lot up front and pretty much a lot of space for parking. Some weekends there are live bands. Unfortunately, last night there wasn't any. Pro tip from my sis in law: If they have a live band on, you should bring your own camp chairs and portable tables. Basically, there is both indoor and outdoor sitting. They do have some merchandise in front, very cute!! There are cute magnets, thermal stemless wine glasses etc. You order once you enter, and they will bring you food if you ordered. We ordered two bottles of wine to share and a picnic board. She brought the picnic board to us. It has sausage, three types of cheese and some chocolates. We love it!! read more

Whew when you walk in wow did it smell lovely. We did a tasting and loved the vibe in this small out in the country winery. Everyone has a diff take on wine so our preferences are listed with Star Gazer being our pick for the one we liked the best. My husband and I used this venue to host our wedding. The owners were extremely helpful, coordinating with our wedding planner to figure out where to put a tent large enough to host 250 guests, and an area to set up the caters. They also provided an area for smoking cigars, the fire pits were on and functional despite the on/off downpour. The tasting room was used for the caters to satisfy our plated request, and there were no issues getting the food to all the guests in a timely manner while maintaining the quality of the food (such as heat, and keeping it dry). We did use their wine, which my family loved. My family came from NY, Florida, and Trinidad, and were all impressed with the facilities as well as the wine which says a lot for a bunch of fussy West Indians. The Winery provided some of the bartenders and they received excellent compliments for their ability to handle all the guests and an open bar. I was extremely impressed with every aspect of Winery, from the owners involvement to their ability to coordinate with the wedding planner. They don't advertise that they can handle weddings but it is definitely worth asking. Even if this place isn't used for big events they are a lot of fun for wine tastings, Summer concerts, and a wide assortment of wine. read more

Nice location with plenty of shade trees and nice areas to sit and enjoy your wine and snacks. Provides a great shaded area that provides a nice breeze and a beautiful area to relax. Wine was very tasty and the staff was very friendly. We enjoyed a few bottles and we also enjoyed the meat and cheese tray that was really nice. Stopped here on a Wednesday afternoon with my fiancé and dog on our road trip... I am so glad we did! Being from Long Island we have had our fair share of visits to local wineries and Deer Springs did not disappoint. We sampled 5 wines (2 reds and 3 whites) while sitting on the patio. All five were yummy. The tasting room itself was pretty and the server was very nice and knowledgable. There was plenty of outdoor seating and the scenery was lovely with a lot of green space. We also had some bread and cheese, which were delicious. The only reason I am not giving the winery 5 stars is because the wines were a little sweet for my taste. I would definitely recommend stopping by for some tastings! read more

We visited this winery on a whim during our visit to Lincoln for a wedding early July. Being from the east coast, we found this little winery delightful! We came through quick for a tasting on a Sunday. Service was efficient and quick. We were the last call folks of the day - a nice little tasting room with a variety of both red and white wines. Personally, I wasn't crazy about most of them but we did find a nice gem of a white and took a bottle home. Drank it with some Chinese food and it was wonderful! We were just visiting the area but I guess they do some local deals and concerts. If we lived locally we'd probably check those out! read more

We rode up to this winery (literally) by accident while riding gravel roads on our bikes east of Lincoln for the day. Only about 30 minutes by bike from the east edge of town, we were on our way back and this oasis was on our route. They have a nice little flight you can do to sample the various varietals, all hybridized to the Nebraskan climate. They have wines from dry to sweet. Service is sweet and the country atmosphere is hard to beat. read more

This is the second time going here. Always a great experience. They have 15% military discount, Wed-Sat 1-9pm. They have the wrong hours posted but I told her about it. She was very nice and the wine was great. This Sunday they are having Soup, Dessert and Wine from 1-6pm. Looking forward to going the 3rd time. About 5-6 miles east of Lincoln sits Deer Springs Winery. It is a family owned business in an old remodeled farmhouse. They have 7-8 different wines. The ones that I tried were really great. Weather permitting, they have outdoor seating, fire pits and entertainment outdoors. On a busy night, the lines can get long, I recommend buying a bottle of wine rather than a glass as the wait can be 30 minutes or so. Winter, they have entertainment on the weekends. The area is quite cozy with 10-15 tables. There is no beer or liquor available. And the food selection is pretty much limited to assorted cheese and sausage. read more

First of all, if you enjoy wine (even a little bit), I suggest taking a day trip doing tastings at the many wineries around the Lincoln metro. I've found that each region of the US has a unique wine culture and Nebraska is no different. Deer Springs would be a great stop on a day tour. It's located in a cute little house on a nice green space. There's a patio and gazebo area for outdoor seating. I'd recommend a tasting of the wines. They have a variety of reds and whites that range from dry to sweet. Like other Nebraska wineries, they tend toward the sweeter spectrum but that's our local viniculture (the types of grapes that grow in the region). I think it's great to try to local varieties. You can do a tasting, get a glass, or a bottle with a few snacks. My recommendation is the Gypsy Red. It's a bold and flavorful red that's quite drinkable! Deer Springs isn't my favorite of the local wineries but it's a nice place to enjoy an afternoon or a special event. I miss their sweet, sweet dog who passed away last summer. RIP, buddy. read more

I loved this place! We got huge tastings of 5 wines each plus a cheese and fruit tray for $16. The lady working the counter was knowledgeable and friendly. The atmosphere is great. We sat inside for awhile in comfy chairs by the fireplace. Then we chatted with other guests outside by the fire pit near the pavilion bedecked with twinkle lights. It was both a romantic and relaxing place to hang out. Plus, the wines were tasty! read more

Probably one of the few wineries in the Midwest that has drinkable red wines. The poor server behind the bar needs more help. I tipped her heavily. The owner is quite the grumpy chap. Deer Springs does a concert series on Saturday nights which led us here to watch Swing Fest. The place is small especially when compared to some of the larger wineries in the area. The grounds were excellent for an intimate outdoor concert. They had a number of picnic tables, a patio with a fire pit, tiki torches, and an outdoor stage. We brought some lawn chairs, ordered a bottle of the Brianna, and enjoyed the beautiful weather and some pretty good Jazz. I am not a wine aficionado so I can't speak to how good it was though apparently it has won a metal. I am a beer drinker but I enjoyed a couple of glasses. It was a pleasant experience and I wouldn't hesitate to go back. read more

Came to Nebraska with my family to visit my cousin who goes to College nearby. Excited to try out this winery we had been hearing so much about. Super disappointing! Cute winery and pretty good wines but the person behind the counter was very rude, talked down to us, never explained how the tasting worked we had to ask. For Some of us it was our first tasting, sad to have it go that way! Seemed very bothered we were even there!( a group of 15!) Everytime we came back up to her to get our next tasting or ask a question she was on the phone - just poured the wine didn't tell us about the wine or anything! What a wonderful evening we had! The music was good, the service was great and the wine was amazing! Honestly, Deer Springs wines are of the highest caliber of Nebraska wines that I've sampled. We started with a sampling and had a tough time choosing one to enjoy at our table, so we bought two along with a basket full of local bread, cheese and meat. I was glad to discover we can buy their wines in Lincoln, but I wouldn't want to miss out on the charming setting. A very welcome addition to the Lincoln area. We used a Living Social deal tonight for two wine tastings and up to a $20 bottle of wine. An old converted farm house is he tasting room, with outdoor tables, a gazebo, Chris Ayre strumming away enjoyably, and Napoleon the dog. The wines are solid, not very complex, but all drinkable. You can bring a picnic or buy a basket of local cheese, bread, and sausage. We selected the Gypsy Red. For the whites, try the LaCrosse. A very pleasant Thursday night. read more
