We got married here and overall it was a great experience. Vivian was exceptional to work with, and I highly recommend her. The coordinator, Erin, who came recommended, was also fabulous. We didn't interact much with Mark, but in the few moments we did, he was good as well. The biggest challenge for us was the rain on our wedding day. While we were fortunate to have the ceremony outside, our guests ended up packed inside for the reception, which meant not everyone was in the same room. On top of that, because we had to pivot locations, the outdoor speakers were so quiet that many guests couldn't hear them, including the groom and me. This led to half the guests missing one of our dances altogether and the other dance we couldn't hear the music, so we missed many cues which caused the dances to look very bad, despite practicing for weeks. I know the weather is beyond anyone's control, but I truly feel there should have been some kind of price adjustment because the experience was simply not the same as it would have been fully outside, which is what we paid for. We invested a lot of money, and unfortunately it wasn't everything it could have been. My advice: do NOT book your wedding in a month where there's a chance of rain. Overall, it was still a beautiful day at a great venue, just not quite the experience we envisioned. read more

I just got married at DPV this past Monday and absolutely loved our experience. Vivian was absolutely amazing throughout the entire wedding planning process in helping clarify or answer any questions we may have had. She also worked above and beyond on helping us find ways of saving on certain wedding costs. The vendors that the venue recommended were absolutely amazing. I loved the bridal getting ready room, made things so much less stressful on the day of. The venue itself was so stunning and well maintained. I could not recommend Deer Park Villa enough. I got married at Deer Park Villa in 2017 and have the pleasure of living around the corner, and photographing weddings there for the past 16 years. I have photographed weddings all over the bay area but no venue captured the awe of getting married in nature, under redwoods, quite like Deer Park Villa. Whenever I shoot there, I get to relive my wedding day. It's so special for me. A few of the venue perks: - Getting ready locations on site for both bride and groom (many venues don't have a good option for the groom) - Shaded ceremony site so even on those hot summer days, guests remain comfortable. - Indoor option in case of rain - fire tables for warmth and also late night s'mores - Multiple rooms in the main building for guests to spread out and explore - Deer! I see deer every time I am shooting a wedding there. They didn't name it Deer Park Villa for nothing. I am also impressed by how much the venue reinvests into the site. They are constantly updated and upgrading the space. Since I was married there 7 years ago, they added a bridal cottage, repaved the entire ceremony site, and created a whole new area called the Zen Garden with a fountain. It's great to see they take such loving care of the venue so that it continues to be fresh and unique. From a wedding guest point of view : Dear Park Villa will make you feel like your miles deep in a magically lit forest , when in reality you're just a few of minutes away from cute coffee shops, restaurants , busy Bay Area life. The outside ceremony and reception site is very esthetic without much need for florals or decorations. The grand redwood trees and candle lights is ambience enough in my opinion. The outdoors also had some space with fire pits for s'mores making ,and some lounge chair . The interior space was a bit compartmentalized and smaller. There was a dance floor with space for photo booth in one section , a back bar and large patio for cocktail hour, and bathrooms. The venue is easy to get to , plenty of parking, with few hotels within 5 miles range . I couldn't tell you anything about price or restrictions on vendors , but whatever was spent , I would say it was worth it . Deer Park Villa is absolutely magical! From the moment we stepped out of the car, smelled the pine trees, and saw the stunning landscaping, we knew we'd found our perfect spot for an outdoor summer wedding beneath the trees and twinkly lights. The bridal cottage was a wonderful home base for us and our family, and the groomsmen had a great separate space to get ready (the bridal room). The grounds are impeccably maintained, and the team oversaw the bar with ease--our signature cocktails were crafted exactly to our specifications. We held our after party at Mac's, and the short drive made it easy for guests of all ages to keep celebrating with us. A couple heads up: there are no hotels immediately nearby (our guests stayed in San Rafael and Sausalito and shuttled in), and dancing must be indoors, which can get warm in the summer--but overall, we would absolutely recommend Deer Park Villa. The setting is gorgeous! You can see that from the pictures. The customer service was anything but. After sending three checks throughout the 10 months before the wedding totaling $10,000, I received an email from their bookkeeper about eight weeks before the wedding, asking me if I had paid anything yet! Naturally, I was horrified. I had to call the bookkeeper three times and the venue three times before I finally got an answer. The answer was, the bookkeeper had just gotten married and was a bit "out of sorts". I was told she would get back to me. Three days later, she got back and said that yes she had received my final check. I asked her to please send me a confirmation in writing that she had received the full payment for our daughter's wedding, which at this point was happening in about six weeks. She wrote and confirmed they had received it, with the excuse that she may have, " received the other checks and just forgotten to post them to an account". When we got to the venue, we were completely on our own. Even though my daughter had sent a diagram of how she wanted the chair set up, the men setting up the chairs, set them up completely differently. My daughter and I had to rearrange them. I never met anyone affiliated with the venue in person. You are renting the venue. That is it. There is no additional customer service or greeting or welcome of any sort. Again, it's a lovely place to get married, but you need to be prepared to handle everything, and follow up once you sent any deposit or payments. Again, is beautiful, it is clean, but it is difficult to get a hold of someone when you have questions or concerns. read more

I have got to say 10 out of 10!! My nephew got married there, yesterday. I had never been to the venue and I got asked to coordinate their wedding, 2 weeks before the wedding. Vivian walked me through the details and made me feel comfortable. When I got to the venue that morning, I was able to meet her and she walked me through everything in person. Whenever I had a question she was there to answer them. The venue itself is BREATHTAKING!! There were actual deer there when we showed up that morning. Being the time of year and the weather, we were able to make a quick switch that morning to have the ceremony outside but reception inside. EXTREMELY accommodating! I am grateful for Vivian, the flexibility, the catering (Forks and Fingers) they are a preferred vendor, and I know why. Debbie was fabulous as well, the staff during the wedding were extremely helpful and I actually got to sit down and enjoy my nephews wedding and actually eat! David with Runaway Bride, also a preferred vendor, worked with me throughout the night, and when those last minute changes happened, he was on it confirming with me. Again, hands down, has to be one of my favorite venues I have work at/ with. I have been in the wedding/party industry for 18 years, and I cannot say enough about this venue!! We loved our wedding at deer park villa and got so many compliments on our venue from our attendees! The grounds are gorgeous and pristinely maintained at all times. They are one of the few that stay open late in the Bay Area which was something that was important to us. They also have a very big parking lot and allow guests to park overnight, which was very convenient. Management even gave us a deal on their sister property a Few blocks away for our after party. Unfortunately, we couldn't use the red wood grove for our ceremony due to rain, but the team allowed us to hold off on making the call until just a few hours before. We were so bummed but They made it as cozy as they could indoors and we still had the best time. read more

When we first stepped foot at Deer Park Villa, we knew we had found our venue. A few things that really stood out to us from the beginning: 1. You have the entire venue from 8am to 11pm, so you can get there early to get ready 2. The Bridal Cottage has several rooms at 3 bathrooms, so my wife and her bridesmaids were able to spend the whole morning there getting ready (there is an extra fee for this, but it is absolutely worth it) 3. The interior bar is a great place to hang out during the morning (my groomsmen and I got ready in there) 4. The dance floor is inside, so you avoid the sound ordinance issues that a lot of venues have and can keep the music going until 11pm. 5. All of their preferred vendors are amazing. We ended up going with Runaway DJ for the music and Ray's Catering for food, but really liked all of the people we met and considered throughout the process. We HIGHLY recommend Heartfelt Media for your photography 6. The whole team at DPV was helpful and responsive to our questions. We visited the site 5-6 times in the months leading up to our day 7. THE REDWOODS. The space is simply astounding. You get to do photos, the ceremony, and dinner all in that redwood grove, which is beyond beautiful. It was incredibly hot on our wedding day (90+), but everyone is in the shade the whole time, so even on a day like that people were happy. There were lots of other little things that worked out great--designated time for a rehearsal, great signature cocktails, firepits for s'mores--but it will definitely be the ambiance and magic of the space that will stand out for us. My husband and I got married here earlier this month and were so happy we chose Deer Park Villa. The venue is naturally beautiful and made us feel so special. It was exactly what we envisioned. The outdoor and indoor combination allowed us to have a magical ceremony and reception in the redwood trees. It also gave us a lovely and spacious party indoors afterwards. Vivian was our day of coordinator and put us right at ease. She was always so responsive and helpful with coordinating and answering questions leading up to the day. We felt so welcomed by the staff and greatly appreciated their attentive service. The big parking lot was super convenient for guests to access and we loved the close proximity to downtown Fairfax and other towns during our wedding weekend. Wow, what a beautiful and stunning location - it was truly our wedding venue of our dreams! The staff was very friendly and helpful during our big day. The venue felt intimate and secure but it's pretty accessible to folks coming from the Bay Area or so. There were some staff transitions that caused some inconveniences in our communication before the big day but all things were resolved and went pretty smoothly. We personally would not recommend the after party because it really wasn't our vibe (the lounge was lovely and all but they had a live rock band which really wasn't our thing). The staff at MAC's was really helpful though!) Overall, we highly recommend this venue! So lovely, dreamy, and truly incredible. The pictures truly don't do it justice! read more

We got married at Deer Park Villa in May 2022 and are so happy we did! The venue is stunning, it accommodates a large number of guests, and we loved the combo of indoor and outdoor space. We were a bit worried about working with management based on the other reviews but honestly had no problems, I have only great things to say about Miguel. He was very responsive and met a lot of our custom requests - like passing out shots during the wedding speeches (most venues won't do shots). He also let us come early and store some of our items in their staging area which was helpful. I was also hesitant about their indoor space, which is certainly less glamorous than the outdoor area. However it was totally fine. We didn't add any extra decor to the indoor space besides uplighting and some DJ party lighting, which worked well. By the time guests headed inside they were tipsy and just ready to dance, so decor didn't matter much at that point. Guests who weren't dancing after dinner enjoyed hanging out on the front patio by the indoor bar, it was a big hit with the heaters and couches. We had about 200 guests (originally invited more). I do think if you had a significantly smaller wedding the venue might seem a bit too spread out, but hard to say. It was perfect for our guest count. We used their recommended caterer Debbie from Forks and Fingers and she was also amazing to work with, and the food was delicious. I highly recommend working with a caterer who knows their venue well. My bridal party and I loved the bridal cottage for getting ready - it is a great space and was nice to have somewhere to use a private bathroom and keep our stuff during the wedding itself. I also recommend doing offsite photos at Lake Lagunitas Parking Lot - it's 5 minutes from the venue and beautiful scenery. I was surprised that it was hard for our guests to get Ubers and Lyfts - if you want to organize transportation I recommend organizing buses for your guests or even encouraging them to drive (there is plenty of onsite parking). I can't believe it took me this long to write my review, I was waiting for our professional photos to come in and then I completely forgot! If I could give Deer Park Villa 10 stars, I would. My husband and I said "I do" under their majestic redwoods on 4/22/21 and it was the dreamiest day I could have ever envisioned. Miguel Samayoa was beyond helpful and attentive in both the lead up as well as on our big day. I adored everything about the magical venue (most of all the stunning grounds and that they was completely private). The bridal cottage was PERFECT, and having use of it allowed my groom and his groomsmen to get ready in the bridal "room". I can't elaborate enough on how perfect and gorgeous every nook and cranny of this venue is, and if you love redwoods like we do, look no further. I have a personal and sentimental connection to Fairfax as well. The Courter family are Fairfax natives! Deer Park Villa is owned by the Ghiringhelli family whom, it turns out, remembers mine. All so perfectly serendipitous. The end of our wedding at the venue was topped off with complimentary pizza from Ghiringhelli's Pizzeria just down the street! Out of this world. Everyone loved it. I had family members saying they wanted to renew their vows just so they could have a wedding experience at DPV. Other wedding guests raved that it was the most beautiful wedding and most stunning venue they'd ever been to, and I would have to agree. It was the only venue we even looked at and I would pick it again and again. Just the most wonderful people, the most beautiful property, and the best energy (as they say, couples having been saying their vows under those redwood trees for a century). We hosted our wedding at Deer Park Villa on 7/21/24. The love and care put into the space is obvious. It is absolutely beautiful and beautifully maintained. Special shout out to Vivian who made the bar amazing! We had top notch alcohol all night, and they have the best serving staff. The bridal cottage, though an extra charge, is absolutely worth it. I didn't have a bridal party, but it is a three room/three bathroom space where everyone in the family can gather and store stuff or put their feet up in between pictures. It has a kitchenette so we were able to bring in snacks. During the party, our friend hired a babysitter for their son who stayed in the cottage while we partied. The overall space is beautiful, we saw deer each time we visited. They have a full kitchen on site for your caterer. The trees, string lights and everything about this space is just such a winner I have no words. Some of our guests expressed interest in checking out this venue for their own weddings after seeing how ours came out. We had the best wedding ever, and Deer Park Villa was the absolute best host. read more

My partner and I were excited about planning a wedding here. This was brought to an abrupt halt due to Miguel's lack of professionalism and bad attitude. Just scheduling a first visit was extremely difficult as he never responded to my fiance via email, but scheduled later w me via telephone, only to cancel 1 hour before on the day of, stating we had never confirmed w him. He never apologized for canceling the appt. I have such mixed feelings about reviewing DPV. The venue itself is straight out of a fairytale, but some of the staff at this venue were a huge pain to deal with. Let's start with the good: - Beautiful, spacious, private venue with literal deer wandering around - You have the flexibility of booking your own caterer and DJ - A relatively late "curfew" compared to other venues - Very family-friendly - Amazing bar staff Which leaves us with the bad: - Some of the staff, particularly Mark and Miguel - The bar staff was too good...such that my inebriated husband inadvertently left a tip for Miguel too (lol) Mark was slow to respond to us after we had to postpone our July 2020 wedding. Not sure if they deliberately held out all Saturday bookings from us or it was just pure coincidence that they happened to be fully booked through July 2021 back in May 2020... Regardless, after not responding for 11 days, he "graciously" wrote back: "Understanding your particular situation is important to us at Deer Park Villa, and we are taking every wedding under deliberate consideration of and around their needs. I have talked this over with Mike, and we can offer you as an alternative Saturday September 11th, 2021." We were personally not comfortable with celebrating our wedding on this day, so we reluctantly agreed to a Friday date. Unfortunately for us, August 2021 proved to have another unexpected Covid peak due to the delta variant. We requested to do rapid testing in the parking lot before letting guests enter the venue. I fully acknowledge this may have been overkill but I'm sure many couples trying to plan a wedding during this time can relate to the struggle of prioritizing the safety of their loved ones, especially of older guests and children. We received a firm no. When asked what the reasoning was, Miguel's response was "we just don't want it" and "if you don't feel safe, don't come to the venue." Let's just say we didn't have the energy to unpack this. Especially after already making a full deposit on the venue. Overall, would highly recommend the venue itself, especially if you have a planner who can handle the communications with DPV staff for you or if you have the patience of a saint... read more

Planned a wedding for a family member here in May. The grounds are beautiful, the night was amazing and a huge success. I suggest to use most of their recommended vendors, the caterer and DJ were great. The DJ has a photo booth available for a great price and it's really good quality. We used Karen Rossi for flowers and she was the best. The bridal room was nice and very convenient. We got ready at the hotel though since it's a little small. It was great for the before the ceremony. The staff had all the things ready to go for us. The night of was really enjoyable and the guests had a great time. The outdoor area is for the ceremony, then easily flips for dinner, and the first dances (we did them on the concrete set up in between the tables) it was very intimate and beautiful. We had a hosted bar with beer and wine outside for 4 hours. That was a big success. Then moved indoor around 7:30 for cake cutting and dancing into the evening. At that point we used the back bar and the patio.. along with the dance hall area. We didn't get any deers running around but the trees and string lights were gorgeous. Everyone was commenting on how amazing the venue was. I took 1 star off for a few things A wedding planner they have on the list Katie Rebecca Events was not good. I told the vendor already of the issues with her company. There are mosquitos at dusk, suggest some citronella candles or having bug spray on hand. Make sure they turn on the A/c in the dance/buffet area ahead of time in the summer. It gets very hot! Had some issues with pre planning with the food and beverage manager. He gave me some attitude on the phone and I felt it carried over in person as well. Make sure that all your paperwork is in order and that he responds to your messages. There was also a problem with the vodka that was being poured at the pay bar- it was not the top shelf vodka that guests were ordering. Watch that..if there is a preferred alcohol you know your guests like, then make sure they will can have it on hand. In our case it was grey goose. Mark the GM of deer park villa did address this and made it right with us. Overall a beautiful place with a great vibe for your guests. read more

My husband and I got married here a couple weeks ago and had the most magical wedding we could have possibly imagined! When we were searching for an outdoor venue about a year ago, we actually only looked at a few places in the Bay Area. Once we saw Deer Park Villa, we pretty much knew it was the type of space we wanted for our wedding day. Factors that mattered to us were: (1) outdoor ceremony/reception, (2) outdoor ceremony/reception that allowed music AND hard liquor, (3) affordability. Surprisingly, there are not many venues in the Bay that meet these criteria. The only small caveat DPV had was that you needed to move the music indoors by 8:30pm (which was not an issue for us). The first visit and signing process was easy. The terms and rules were laid out to us verbally in person and on paper. Mark, our main contact, helped answer all of our questions in a timely manner. The only thing that would sway me to give 4.5 stars instead of a full 5 is the much slower responses during the months in-between signing and our actual wedding day. It can feel stressful at times when you need an answer ASAP. However, I always tried to give DPV the benefit of the doubt because I know how busy they are with 1-3 weddings per week. I will give them credit for answering faster once it was closer to our wedding date. Other things to know about booking this venue: - They do require you to book a caterer through their preferred list. - They strongly encourage you to use their preferred DJ. However, note that you can technically use your own (preferably someone who has DJ'd at DPV), which is what we did. - They have bar staff and packages available with great options of alcohol. Miguel is the lead contact, and he was great to work with! No guest was left thirsty ;) All in all, we wouldn't have wanted to get married anywhere else but here. The Tubbs fires destroyed everything. My husband and I are from Santa Rosa and we were to be married Oct. 13th, 2017. The area surrounding our original venue went up in smoke, along with Wine Country Bride where my dress was bought and being stored. The hotel for our guests and the restaurant where our rehearsal dinner was meant to be too. Literally every penny we saved and spent gone in the flames. We were absolutely heartbroken. However in the face of tragedy good people are there to help. Deer Park Villa are those good people. My mother found them and encouraged me to reach out. I'm so very thankful I did because we had the wedding of our dreams. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Mark Dawson and Miguel Samayoa. These two gentlemen we so attentive and generous. As Deer Park Villa has the prestige, class, and gorgeous scenery, I was very scared of the top dollar pricing that they normally cost. As I said before, the owner and managers are good people. How much they helped us brought tears to my eyes. We were married the day before Thanksgiving and what a thankful blessing it was. DPV will never know how deep my gratitude truly is. Also, Soko is a FABULOUS makeup artist who I would not of been in touch with if were not for DPV. She bartends at the venue and asked if I had a makeup artist yet. I had not with all the chaos that happened. I looked gorgeous! Soko did a wonderful job and she is so kind and sweet. Lovely woman to work with. We attended a wedding for the daughter of a friend here. Coming from out of state, we were so impressed by the outdoor setting among the redwood grove. It was super hot that day, but the shade provided by the trees made it very tolerable. You definitely got the tranquil feeling of being in the forest. The setup for the ceremony and transformation of the area for the dinner went very smoothly. The staff was very efficient and helpful and everything seemed to go well. Dancing afterwards was inside, but the forest grove was still available to get a break from the music. My only issue with the entire time was the apparent shortage of restroom facilities. The restrooms in the main building were very cramped and small, with long lines throughout the evening. Were there other facilities I wasn't aware of? Aside from that, it was a wonderful facility to host a memorable event. read more

My husband and I recently got married and used DPV as our venue for June 7th 2018. I had found DPV myself by researching online and fell in love with the pictures so we had to check it out in person. When we did, I fell in LOVE with it. It was quite the hidden gem. We left not making a decision but after we had lunch in that cute small town, we went back and signed up because when you know, you know... We give DPV a 5 star for the day of and their signing up bonuses (cocktails & pizza at the end of the night), however we give them a 4 star due to many issues leading up to the day. The person that was in charge of signing us up was very attentive while we were there in person but in email/phone call correspondences they were very difficult to get a hold of. DPV also forgot to charge one of our scheduled payments in which we had to go out of our way to call them and remind them of this on multiple occasions (we were on a monthly payment plan with cc on file). Lastly, DPV forgot we signed the beverage contract months before the wedding and a couple things were not mentioned prior to the day of. Not sure how they keep records of each event but it seemed a little disorganized. Overall, on the big day we had a great experience and everyone was in awe of the venue and it really made everything look great in pictures and the ambiance was everything. It was quite a magical day/night. Deer Park Villa was the perfect location for our simple and non-traditional wedding. We love Marin and are outdoors enthusiasts, so the Redwood grove met our vision for our wedding! We booked the space 8 months before the wedding. It was within our budget, and we liked the ability to have prep, ceremony, dinner, and dancing all in one spot. We're a care-free couple and we worked with awesome vendors, so the amount of communication was fine with us. Our caterer (CaterMarin) was especially awesome and definitely drove the logistics and details the day-of. Due to the number of events that they host, they don't have the capacity to hold or stage items before or after the wedding, so you really need to prepare ahead of time for how and when everything is going to get there... and get cleaned up. Despite rain the day before, we had absolutely perfect weather on the day of. I arrived onsite for a quick shower (after a fantastic 30-mile bike ride) around 10:45 am, had hair and make-up in the bridal room from 11-1, then had pictures and chill time. I didn't have a bridal party, so the bridal room was perfect for me and a few family members to spend time in. More than about 6 people in there would get claustrophobic though. Our ceremony started at 4, had cocktails at 5 (Deer Park hosts the bar, and their communication about the bar left room for improvement. At least 3 people were involved in back and forth emails and we had to double check all of the charges and calculations), dinner at 6 (our caterer rented queens tables and linens), dancing at 8, food truck at 9, and everyone was out of there by 11:30 (because we are not in our twenties anymore). The only other thing we struggled with a bit in addition to the bar was the AV/sound stuff. Since DPV is in a neighborhood, there are very strict sound ordinances (Music has to be inside, but luckily the inside looks nicer at night and after a few drinks). At the last minute the sound staff (contracted out) wanted our band to rent a smaller sub-woofer. Instead, they just turned theirs down. I think the band struggled with communication with the sound guys, similar to the way we struggled with communication with the bar. So! If you have a simple wedding and strong vendors, this place will totally make your wedding magical. If you're looking for a lot of bells and whistles and intricate details, this place might stress you out. read more

Our experience at Deer Park Villa was amazing. My wife and I got married there in the end of May. The venue was absolutely astounding and with the assistance of our excellent wedding planner, who had worked with the venue previously, the night ran absolutely seamlessly. We had our wedding at Deer Park Villa last weekend and I can honestly say it was everything I imagined and more. Yes, the reviews are true... the communication at DPV could have been better leading up to the week of our wedding, but we knew based on other reviewers that the results would be worth it if we were patient. If you are the type of bride (or mother of the bride) that is super uptight and needs constant communication, this is probably not the venue for you. That being said... holy smokes! The beauty, the setting, the venue... everything just perfect for us. The execution of the event was nearly flawless. The venue itself is beautiful, with their large grove of redwood trees situated all around the area where we had our wedding and dinner. The grounds are clean and manicured. The maintenance staff ensures that there is no trace of the event that took place prior. Our wedding took place in the garden area and adjoined the building where we went in for dancing afterwards. We would recommend Deer Park Villa for its location, beauty and event suitability alone. In terms of service, we liked that Deer Park doesn't nickel and dime their customers. When you book the venue, it's all yours from 10am through the rest of the night. In addition, if we needed heat lamps later in the evening, we were given them without having to pay an additional cost. Overall, our day-of experience was frustration-free. Unfortunately, what came with the laid back business model was a severe lack in customer service in the wedding planning process. We were not happy with the total lack of follow-up by all the business staff at Deer Park Villa as we were planning our wedding. We felt that once we had paid the venue they seemed to ignore us. During the months preceding, our many calls and emails went unanswered - to the point of our total frustration. It was a chore to chase someone down to answer even the most basic questions. The bar package coordination, for example, took almost 3 months to finalize due to weeks of unanswered emails. Overall, we're very happy we chose this venue. Deer Park Villa is a real gem in a wooded neighborhood of the charming little Marin town of Fairfax. It is nestled among towering redwoods and has lots of outdoor seating for weddings. From the moment you walk down the gravel path into the venue, you feel the enchanted atmosphere. As a photographer, I really appreciate this venue because it makes for the most amazing photographs. It feels like you're deep in the forest but you're right next to town and its easy to get to. Miguel will take great care of you. Definitely check out this place for your wedding! read more

Recently had our wedding here. It's hard to call this place "World Class" as they state on their website, since dealing with the management here has been less then easy. My wife and I booked this place well over 1.5 years in advance. Mark the main management person who we initially worked with was very easygoing and professional. But for some reason MIGUEL the bar guy was who we ended up dealing with a month or two leading to our wedding. Didn't get a the best vibe from this guy which showed when my wife was trying to sign the contract. He took forever emailing us the updated contract for our guest count and when he finally responded the day before the wedding, he didn't even update the contract which made my fiancée very anxious. You wouldn't expect this from a "World Class" venue. Not sure why his communication was sub par. Other cons to this place was that they had to breakdown the tables right after the dinner which meant all of our guests did not have a place to put their jackets and purses as well as being scattered throughout the venue (i.e. dance floor, fire pit area, rear bar, and rear patio). Not to mention some mosquitos were buzzing around during dinner. Aside from these things, the venue did look great. I'm just not sure that I would call it "World Class" for some of the reasons stated above. read more

This place could not have been any more perfect for our wedding day. The venue is amazing, the redwood grove, the outdoor bar, the firepit lounge, & the bridal suite! All of our guests would tell us how MAGICAL our wedding was. We loved working with Miguel, specifically we were looking for a venue that would allow us to bring my husbands home brews, Miguel accommodated so well for us. We also had our rehearsal dinner here as well. Our wedding coordinator was a huge help, she had experience with the venue and communicated so well with the Mark and Miguel as well. If you are looking for a wedding coordinator for this venue, call Carrie with Boheme Tipi Events, she is PERFECT! Mark is definitely hard to get a hold of but he would eventually get back through email. We booked Straw SF as our caterer under their list of recommended caterers. The food was amazing and they worked closest to our budget. We loved the menu so much, plus the cotton candy was awesome! The bar package is pricy but they were accommodating to our homebrews to serve our guests. Their selection was great, our guests loved the Pinot Grigio and Riesling. We went with Runaway DJ their recommended DJ. DJ Armin was wonderful throughout the wedding from the ceremony through reception. Also played not 1 but 2 last dance songs! The weather was perfect, our wedding was in May. They were prepared for heat lamps in case it was cold during dinner but those were not needed at all. Definitely bring BUG spray, not prepared for those mosquito bites. We wish could have our wedding all over again! Thank you Deer Park Villa! read more
