The Log Cabin is an absolute hidden gem in San Anselmo! My daughter used to play softball at the field there, and parents would hang out here after a game or two. We've attended a few events back in the day, and kicked it at the Dugout Bar, where Stacy kept the libations flowing. Also attended a nice retirement party recently; it was quite memorable. It's a perfect venue for any occasion with just enough people. There's plenty of parking for your guests. The indoor and outdoor spaces are ideal for event planning. A friend rented this for a milestone birthday and the venue was perfect for the group of about 40 with dinner and DJ and Photo Booth. There was ample space to dance and breathing room, and the airflow was great with the door open. The bar was off to the side which was perfect, and the staff were super friendly. A really unique spot! The cider and scotch were both great, and the bartender was super friendly, sharing stories about the different drinks they offer. It felt like a true local hangout--everyone seemed to be from around San Anselmo, while we were the only ones from Larkspur. Most people came to play darts and pool, and you could tell there were plenty of regulars, some even bringing their own gear. Finding the entrance was a bit tricky at first--we accidentally walked into a room with chairs, but the actual bar is downstairs. Once inside, it felt like stepping into a movie scene. We celebrated my daughter's Bat Mitzvah at the Log Cabin this past weekend and everything was wonderful. It was a hot day and I was nervous it wouldn't be comfortable but everything worked out great. We had 100 people and rented out the full space including the bar. Half the party sat inside, and the rest at the tables right outside the party room. We rented all sorts of games and had a DJ. Everyone had a blast. We loved having a party in our "backyard". The locals from San Anselmo were happy with the convenience and familiarity with the Log Cabin and everyone else thought the venue was so cool. My friend and I had an exhibition of our paintings at the Log Cabin. The interior has just the right combination of rusticity and quirkiness for our show--an actual log cabin, in fact. We had a jazz trio perform at the little stage at the far end of the "great hall" and there was plenty of room to stroll about and engage with the art. Sue M. is an absolutely delightful person to work with, extremely accommodating, efficient, professional and friendly. She came to my rescue as I'd forgotten a very important item prior to the event. Steve is an excellent bartender who went above and beyond in helping us keep the space tidy throughout. The Log Cabin and its downstairs bar The Dugout are local institutions. We've had many gatherings over the years with local friends that have created great memories. The most recent was last night when I celebrated my birthday with about 30+ friends. We had pizza delivered, ordered drinks, played pool and had a fantastic time catching up with each other. You have to reserve the space when you're having an event of over 20 people, and the management couldn't have been more responsive, helpful accommodating and supportive. We hosted our rehearsal dinner and welcome drinks for our wedding in July 2024 at the Log Cabin, and could not have been happier with the results. From our first visit there, everyone was so welcoming and helpful. Sue helped us to plan and organize the logistics of our event, and was very responsive throughout the process. She had great suggestions based on what we were looking for, and met with us multiple times to answer questions and brainstorm ideas for the night. The bartenders and staff at the Dugout Bar were AMAZING. They went above and beyond, and were incredibly fun and friendly with all our guests. It's such a unique venue space--we hosted the bar upstairs for beer/wine/champagne, but our guests also had the option to head downstairs to the Dugout Bar for cocktails they could buy on their own. We had about 100 people, and for that large of a group, it was very reasonably priced. They have plenty of chairs/tables inside for a meal, and an industrial kitchen if you need it. We had dinner delivered, but you could easily have catering done on-site. The interior is rustic and woodsy and exactly the vibe we were looking for. Our guests had a blast, and once our evening wrapped up, many of them stuck around at the Dugout to keep the party going. Every single person we worked with was fun, friendly, proactive, and helpful. We are definitely going to find an excuse to host a party there again. read more

Went above and beyond to help us in a pinch. We originally were planning a birthday party for our three year old at the memorial park picnic area next door but unexpected 30mph winds almost completely derailed the party. I called the log cabin 10 minutes before the party was supposed to start on Sunday and Sue not only answered but went above and beyond to write up a contract and open up the event space for us to rent on the spot. We had such a fun time and are so grateful for Sue and the Log Cabin team for saving our son's birthday party. The space is fantastic! Wonderful lights in the rafters, large enough to accommodate 50-60 people while still feeling cozy & not too big. Can't recommend this place highly enough. My husband and I had our joint 50th birthday here. We had about 70 people, dancing and cocktail food was served. It was such a wonderful celebration and started off with Sue who was the best host! Plenty of room for all. The bar downstairs was a fabulous bonus for people wanting to order hard alcohol. We had a bar set up upstairs, which was perfect! I grew up in Marin, had no idea that the Log Cabin was available to rent...had I known I would have thrown all our parties there! We had a great experience hosting our informal gathering at The Dugout. We did not utilize the events space upstairs. The new events manager Sue is lovely to work with. She was super responsive and friendly. The outdoor space with twinkly lights was festive and felt really COVID safe. Super easy to fit a large group with plenty of space for mingling. We had a welcome reception in the Dugout Bar the night before our wedding here in May 2022. We looked at a lot of places in Marin to host our reception and the Dugout Bar was the best for its price, beautiful outdoor space, large guest capacity, and location. Sue and Spenser were so great to work with - they were organized, flexible and accommodating. Sue can provide plenty of recommendations for catering and event rentals if needed as well, which was great since we weren't as familiar with Marin. Since they allow outside food and rentals you can really come up with any type of event you want - we did a take on a Chinese banquet that we thought worked really well, but you could do a lot with the space if you have the imagination! We had a fabulous event and our guests loved both the outdoor and indoor spaces as well as the pool table. Everyone was just having fun which was exactly what we had hoped for. Log Cabin has such a enjoyable, laid back vibe that we really appreciated and we would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking to host an event here! read more

We originally planned to have the event inside the Log Cabin, but due to Covid, we used the space outside the DugOut Bar and it worked just great. It easily accommodated our 90+ guests (who all happened to rave about the catering by Debbie Ghiringhelli Catering) and a terrific time was had by all.
