Can't rate the service but they failed to return multiple calls over several days. It's a month later and they still haven't returned my calls. I probably called 5-6 times and they "never" responded. I also drove to the address and nothing. Luckily, I found another provider about 5' min away. I have a small business and when I need service, I don't have the luxury of waiting and hoping that a provider will return my calls. I would understand if I called Ince but I called multiple times because I was desperate. Left message and nothing but crickets. read more

I have a 5 year old lawn mower that died on me last summer, which put me in a quandary over whether to shell out another $150-200 to buy a new cheaply-made-mechanical-product-of-globalization from a mega store, or spend around the same amount in order to repair my old cheaply-made-mechanical-product-of-globalization from a mega store. Cynicism in cheek, I started calling around to the few service providers who performed small motor repairs within a 10 mile radius of my homestead and all of the providers of whom I spoke to, quoted me per hour rates around the $75-$85 range (not including the price for parts). And we wonder why the global economy is in the state that it is. Hmphft. My last straw of desperation was this serendipitous discovery the popped up on page 10 of my internet search: Deepal's Lawnmower Repair I gave Deepal a call and he quoted me a per hour service rate around $40 (not including parts). I contemplated my options for a minute and decided to give this guy a shot, so I gave him a return call and was confused for a second when a little boy answered the phone. I asked if this was the lawn mower repair shop and the boy confirmed that it was and put Deepal on the phone. Arrangements were made to drop the lawnmower off at Deepal's later that day, and that I did. I pulled up to a suburban residential home and was greeted by an amiable man of South Asian origin donning a surgical mask. Momentarily, I wondered if this was some grade B horror movie scenario, but all fears were allayed once I began conversing with Deepal. My problems were explained and he said he could have it repaired in a few hours. Incredulity came upon me when I heard the estimated time, but as rare as it is in these times - the man was true to his word. Deepal (at least, I think it was Deepal) gave me a call around 2.5 hours after I dropped off my mower and told me that it was ready for pick up. A quick performance demonstration was made and my mower had indeed, been brought back to life. Think of this little miracle as one part Frankenstein and one part Laszerus. Total price - $80. Now this is how a micro-economy is supposed to work. How did it perform under a true stress test? I mowed my overgrown lawn the following day and my little cheaply-made-mechanical-product-of-globalization didn't have one glitch at all. If you have issues with your cheaply-made-mechanical-product-of-globalization, then I most definitely recommend giving Deepal a call. Just a few notes: * don't be surprised if a boy or elderly woman answers the phone. * don't be frightened by the man with the mask. * don't be confused by the Booeymonger sticker on your lawn mower when you pick it up. * don't expect that you get a free sandwich with your lawn mower once you discover the Booeymonger sticker on your lawn mower. such expectations can lead to awkward social situations when you inquire about sandwiches that do not exist. read more

I had a 15 year old lawn mower that stopped working on the first day of the season. This was not a top of the line mower to begin with, so I was 50/50 on whether to spend money on a repair vs. just buying a new one for $150, but it seemed like a waste to toss a piece of machinery if all it needed was a tune-up. Deepal's said they could do a tune-up for $40 "plus parts." (Most online advice indicated cleaning the carburetor, which is included in the tune-up, would probably get it running again). A week later, I called and it wasn't ready, but they said they'd need $90 to cover blade sharpening, new oil and possibly a new carburetor because the mower was running, but very unevenly. I said please just stick with the $40 tune up until we spoke again because I didn't want to spend too much on this old mower. When I called to pick it up, they wanted $95, said they'd already done blade sharpening etc, and that it still didn't run well. The extra $55 was officially for parts, which he said were a new gasket and oil. I don't see you get to $55 for those. He kept trying to rush me off the phone, saying he was very busy, etc., and mentioning the time he'd spent working on the mower. I suspect he's decided that less than $80 or $90 just isn't worth his time. I respect that, but giving a $40 price tag and more than doubling the price at pick-up time is dishonest. I offered $60, figuring $20 is more than enough to cover a gasket and oil, but he wouldn't take any less than $80. So Deepal has my old lawn mower now and I have a new one from Home Depot. I hope someone somewhere will put it to good use if it's running. I would discourage anyone from doing business with Deepal's. read more

I had stopped using my lawnmower 7 years ago after surgery made it too hard. We had a lawn service until last week, and is back to me to do it. The lawnmower wouldn't start (no surprise) due to gummed up varnish in the carburetor. It was a $450 mower, so I didn't want to buy another one. I had a great experience with Deepal's Lawnmower Repair. My lawnmower (Yard Machine brand) is 4-5 years old, and I knew it needed some standard servicing (change oil, replace sparkplug, new air filter, and replace or sharpen blade.) I put it off, until I inadvertently left my mower out in the rain for an afternoon, and the gas tank filled with water, and I knew when it started, but died that I needed to empty the gas and oil tanks. I searched how to do it myself, but with the other servicing I already was planning to do, I decided to pay someone to do it all. I found this by googling lawnmower service and repair near me and this was one of the few places outside Lowes or Home Depot. I called at 8 on a TUesday morning, I brought it to him at 10, I got a call back at 3 saying it was ready, and I picked it up at 5. I finished mowing my lawn by 6:30. I don't think everyone should expect same day service, but: it cost me alot less than a new mower; the machine I have (now that it's fixed up) should last me a few more years. My advice would be: get routine maintenance every year or two years (of course, if you can do it yourself, do it yourself); don't leave your mower out in the rain; don't expect that you can get along by spending 50 dollars every 15 years and maintain a working mower. With Deepal, you are not going to get cheated, and you are going to save a lot of money compared to buying a new mower. read more

It is a bit of an experience dealing with Deepal. On the positive side, you can drop off and pick up the mower until 10PM and since they are 10 minutes from my house, this convenience cannot be understated. I brought in a relatively new (3 years old) Honda lawnmower and Husquvarna blower. I was dealing entirely with I assume was his 13 year old son. He took the information, said they would have the mower ready by the weekend. Needless to say, they have it ready until the following Tuesday. Not a big deal. It happens. When I picked up the mower and blower, they did run, albeit a little rough. The kid said Deepal cleaned the carburetor, and cleaned the spark plug wire . Total bill $150!!! I mentioned that I was quoted a price of $40 to repair each, the kid countered with parts were needed such as gaskets, oil, gas. and that Hondas are difficult to work with. Are you kidding me??!! In short, I was arguing with a 13 year old with his mother looking on and his father no where to be found. I offered him $100, which I feel is more than generous, and left it at that. I only hope that the mower and blower continue to run well, because I have little desire to revisit Deepal and family. I would not recommend using this service, unless you have no other choice. If you do use them, make sure to lock down the price beforehand. The sad thing is that after reading the first review, I was really looking forward to dealing with a nice mom & pop establishment. My battery-operated 19-inch Black & Decker push mower got weak after 10 years of use with no tune-ups. I replaced the blade and battery myself and it still was having a lot of difficulty with thick grass. Deepal quoted $60 + parts over the phone. I stopped by. He worked on it for 45 minutes, sharpened the blade, and gave it a clean bill of health. He said he did not consider the work he did was worth $60 and we settled on $30. I am delighted. read more

He was easy to contact, easy to work with, fixed the mower quickly and price was just right - I wish all small businesses were this easy.

The business is run out of a house and is not run professionally. I called on a sunday afternoon and it was the only company that picked up the phone (I found out later it is because it was their house phone). I asked if they were still open and they said yes, when I asked for how long that is when them hemmed and hawed until I found out the repairman (deepal) would not be in until Monday. I dropped off the lawmowers (even though they knew I was coming they left) but a tenant in their basement told me to leave them. I got a call later that night saying they would look at it on weds and they wont look at one of the lawnmowers since they didn't fix that type(why was this not discussed earlier??). I got a call on Thursday afternoon asking for permission to replace the wheel, he had already fixed the transmission and the handle. I told him I did not ask for him to fix the transmission or the handle that I needed a new spark plug, maybe a new carburetor. Just like in the previous post he suggested I do a tune up for $90 (his site says $60). I told him I have to call him back, I was already 15 minutes deep into a conversation trying to make him understand I wasn't going to pay for work I didn't want done, asked him to do in the first place or authorized him to do. When I called back a young girl answered his phone. I was told he was not in and then when I asked if I could leave a message I was told to call back. When I asked why couldn't I leave a message she hung up on me. I called back 6 times and was hung up on all 6 times before I could say a word. After I read the other review suggesting he did a bait and switch and he was forced to abandon his law mower I called back an hour later and got his answering machine. I informed him that someone needed to call me back about my lawn mower or I would be forced to go to the police in order to get my property return. A woman called back, played stupid about hearing any of my messages, just said she saw a missed call, and this time took my phone number and ensured I would be allowed to take my lawn mowers back. Deepal called the next day and said I could take my lawnmowers (that had been left all week in the rain uncovered back). when I got to his house he tried to lecture me on why I shouldn't have involved the police and I should speak to his relatives better. I would recommend not using his company, that is if it is still in business. I have called the county inspector to see if he has a home occupancy certification since he runs the business out of his home. He does not and will receive a visit from their office. read more
