I am a member of a dive club and decided to check out other dive operators in Rochester. I went on a Niagara River Drift dive and several quarry dives with RU4SCUBA and had an awesome time. I also have had my dive gear serviced by Don. He is extremely skilled and very honest about the cost of parts for my life support system, etc. I also noticed that they have a lot of young, engaged dive instructors and their open water courses are always full. We worked with the owner and he was nothing short of fantastic. Totally surpassed any kind of expectation that we had. The instruction was guided by our pace of learning, we never felt rushed or silly for being somewhat hesitant. These guys are incredibly knowledgeable and patient. You will feel at complete ease in their presence and learn an incredibly cool skill! We just went back for a refresher course and again I was reminded of the kind of business they run and how they treat the people who come to them. They make you understand that the participant needs a partner- so you sign up 2 people - even if the second doesn't want to attend - then your told you need to purchase hundreds of dollars worth of store merchandise. Once you have a teenager in there all excited to learn the sport, how are you supposed to say no to the kid. Worst summer ever. The stress was unreal.

For whatever reasons she has not been able to field any requests for assistance or help and we have been working with Amy, who I think is the owner/operator of the Travel Store. Amy sent me an e-mail which was my receipt for the down payment for the cruise. On the day that the balance was due, Amy called me and I paid off the rest of the cruise. This is the only time the Travel Store has tried to contact me. I later inquired as to flights from Syracuse to NYC (fr the cruise) and transfers from the airport to the port of departure. Amy did get back to me and I called in and paid Margaret for the other travel of this trip. I was e-mailed a receipt, again. I have e-mailed Amy and requested a packet for my trip. She indicates that I already received my packet - though she was never present in the store and I have never met her and none of employees have given us anything other than "receipts." I have come to find out that Norwegian has wanted additional pedigree information about myself and wife. I also was not inclined to know about making reservations for dinner and excursions and events on the boat. I called Amy this past Saturday and she asked if she could call me back because she was on the other line. I went to the Travel Store about an hour later and the Store appeared closed for the day. Amy has been avoiding me. If I wanted this treatment or lack of responsibility for customers, I would have used Orbitz or Expedia, etc. I will never use or recommend the Travel Store to anyone and I will be posting reviews on as many places I can so no one else comes to expect any HELP on their trip. It is my guess that this place is mostly in existence for the employees to get good deals on trips.

Whilst I do like the park in it's entirety, the best part of Jamesville Beach Park is it's huge dog…read morepark. One thing I noticed about this park is that dogs are in general better trained here-- and that is because they have to be. This park is not fenced in like other dog parks. Instead, it is a huge open set of areas, including a path through the trees. You need to ensure your pup has good recall, likes to stay around you, or you'll need to make sure they are on a leash. I have only had a few hiccups here is with people not being the best trained. One person, without a dog, was just giving treats to all dogs that came up to them which was a bit frustrating and a bad behavior to teach. Also, people are terrible about picking up poop. You'll find dog poop and bags of dog poop everywhere--some of this I will blame on the park as its huge and there are only 2 places to put it. However. Its a huge place for my dog to run and he enjoys it-- and so do we, and as a bonus, he sleeps the rest of the day.

We have been taking her…read morethere consistently since she was a puppy and it was an excellent way to get her used to other dogs from day one. She has built a lot of independence there and she knows our walking route by heart. It's beautiful, well maintained, the trails offer a variety of difficulty, and there are several swimming spots for the dogs. It's a great place to take a nice walk after work to help yourself and your dog unwind.
