Unfortunately, I am back to weekly weeding my entire property, I am out $4326.00 and was purposefully lied to and ghosted. 03/20/2025 - I had Sal Tufano come out to my home for a consultation for services. I stated that my entire goal is that I am looking to eliminate the weeds in the garden bed areas. He mentioned sprucing up with plants and I stated at least 5 times (and probably many more) that we can discuss "beautifying" these areas at a later date...my only concern at this point was getting rid of the weeds and KEEPING THEM AWAY. We previously had rocks in some of these areas and I expressly told Sal that I am unfamiliar with HOW this should be done, just that I am looking for a solution and brought in the professionals to guide me. He told me that we should take all the rocks away and then put down 5 inches of mulch, which will solve my problem. He said the key was that the depth of 5 inches will eliminate the weeds.I asked him how long will that last for and he said we will want to refresh the top because it will get packed down in 1 year, but that will get me through the year with no problems. In retrospect, Sal was a complete "used car salesman" in his tactics, to oversell me and underdeliver and distract me from the process so that I would not ask more clarifying questions, however one thing I can make explicitly clear is that I communicated and over communicated my goal - get rid of the weeds for good and he promised me that his solution for my problem was to put down 5 inches of mulch. 03/26/2025 - The job was completed. Fast forward TWO weeks and I had weeds popping up all over the place. TWO WEEKS passed for something I was promised would be a permanent solution, so long as I added more mulch in 1 year. For $4,326.00, I certainly was lied to and did not get my money's worth. 04/07/25- I contacted both Sal and Jason so that I could show them the weeds that developed over a 2 week span. DID NOT GET A RESPONSE. 04/08/25- I texted again. This time I got a response from Jason: "Hi Lindsey, I did get your text and look over the photos that you sent. I understand that you're frustrated to see weeds pop up after a fresh landscaping project. While the 5-inch mulch barrier is one of the most effective methods for weed suppression, it's important to know that no mulch installation can guarantee 100% weed elimination. Some weeds, particularly those with established root systems or wind-blown seeds, may still find a way through, even with a thick mulch layer. This is a normal and expected part of maintaining any landscape, especially during seasonal transitions. Unfortunately, because we are not licensed pesticide applicators, we are unable to apply any herbicides ourselves. However, many homeowners manage this by spot treating with products like RM43, Roundup, or other similar weed killers--available at most home improvement stores--or by hand-pulling." **Personally, I feel that if spraying these areas from a "licensed pesticide applicator" is the solution, this company should have been honest with me and recommended this solution. I would have thanked them for their time and reached out to a company who COULD help me. Instead, I admitted that I didn't know if they could help me, clearly explained my goals and was lied to so that they could book the job and take my money.** 04/14/25, , 04/17/25, and 04/25/25 - I reached back out explaining to Jason that he must be unaware of my initial conversation with Sal and asked if there was a time the three of us could arrange a call to discuss in person (since they refused the visit to my home). There was no response. **I have also since went back and measured all the mulch areas and none of them even come close to the promised 5 inches of mulch that we paid for.
