They have everything…read more Richdale has a little sign that claims they have everything. A bit of a exaggeration perhaps but they do have a whole bunch of stuff. As to be expected in a store like this some of the stuff is crap but other stuff is pretty nice. Nothing really nice but sometimes pretty nice is nice enough. Inside is crowded and chaotic. Always seems a lot of people in here and it's difficult to move around. Takes a bit of patience but it's not too bad. It tends to over flow with stuff so they put some of it out in front on the sidewalk. Gives it a pleasantly tacky look. One of the things they really advertise are the 25 cent hot dogs. I would never get the courage to actually try one and I suspect they aren't exactly the highest quality but just seeing the price is kind of cool. The prices inside on most of the stuff inside is dirt cheap. I got some six buck T-shirts that didn't even shrink five sizes when I washed them. This place is exactly what it seems. It is an anachronism that manages to survive in a rather expensive and ritzy town like Newburyport just be being itself. The staff have always been pleasant and helpful even in middle of all the crazy activity that is going on. It's a cheap place that has lots of cheap but decent stuff. All kinds of weird and quirky things and always messy. Just the type of place that I enjoy

I absolutely loved the old-school displays, classic signage, and traditional employee uniforms. Everything had such a charming, nostalgic feel that reminded me of grocery shopping when I was a child growing up. It was refreshing to see a store that has maintained so much of its original character and personality. The employees were friendly, the atmosphere was welcoming, and the entire experience felt like a throwback to a time when grocery stores had a little more charm. It's not often that a trip to the grocery store becomes a memorable part of your day, but this one certainly did! Absolutely a great experience. Loved it!

There use to be long time employee's working here & now there are employee's that haven't worked here for very long, as indicated by their name badges. It is nice not having employees that speak foreign languages (no, I'm not being racists but its rude) to be at the registers talking to the bagger in another language while you're checking out, not sure what happened to those employees?? At my job you're not allowed to speak any other language but English around your co-workers, break room, nsg. station, etc. The cashier's are more attentive now. :-) I LOVE their subs, my favorite is ham & cheese. Last mth when I went in to place an order in person the sub maker was horrible. After telling her what not to put on my sub she was putting it on the sub (like no salt) I had to tell her more than once to stop. I had also asked her for light pepper relish & she picked up a huge spoon full & was putting it on my sub. I had to tell her more than once to stop. She was also super slow.....I did inform a manager on my way out on her "sub making & listening skills." It was torturing!! I still LOVE their red bliss potato salad....sooo yummy! They have a nice cheese selection. Their cooked chickens are small & expensive @ $10.00. Their brand name items are reasonably priced but man I feel like a lot of other things have gone up such as their bakery items. I've grown up on Market Basket, it definitely has changed over the years but I still have to stop in here when I'm home visiting to get my some of their red bliss potato salad!! LOL

Had hoped to get a nice warm cup of coffee and a coffee roll. Walked in and discovered the ownership from the late 90s had changed.
