Wonderful little spot off the road. Just follow the signs. Entrance road is small but it's a one way. There's a separate road out. Good signage. The deck has a great view and is very comfortable. Heated when necessary. Covered with ceiling fans. Nice selection of wines for tasting. Eleven in total. Reds and whites. Service is super friendly. Stop by and check it out. We all loved it. Note - no kids allowed. read more

A hidden gem!! The drive to the winery had us guessing slightly what we were heading towards, but there are signs leading you to the winery, and when you pull in it is such a pleasant surprise. The service was so incredible, the views are indescribable, and the wine and cheese were delicious (bonus points for beautiful dogs that are just happy to be there). Highly recommend the Smokey mountain mist if you like a full body red. Couldn't recommend making this a stop on your trip enough! I wish the best of luck for continued success to this winery and hope we can visit again! read more

Wow what a really beautiful location.. going to this winery had me question if we were in right place because it was a gravel drive up to it but we saw signs telling us keep going. Once you get up to it the views were amazing! Nice outside seating and indoors as well but all had wonderful views of mountains. We sat on a patio looking out and once seated we had a wonderful personalized tasting at our table. They also have an array of cheese and sausages to have with your wine. We chose to grab a glass after our tasting and a small platter of cheese and sausages crackers. Very relating! We came at end of the day and almost had whole spot to ourselves. I could have sat sipping wine and breathing in that fresh air and beauty all day! I highly recommend this winery! Staff was very friendly and helpful, answered questions and had nice conversations with them and other couple came after us. Wish we could have spent more time! Oh and I have to give shout out to those dogs they were so sweet and I just loved them! Nothing better than puppy petting, wine sipping and peaceful views!! read more

Nice peaceful area. Good wine nice snacks. Pleasant service. Locally owned and run. Definitely recommend.

Little piece of tranquility in the mountains. Casual place to enjoy a sampling of wines.

I stopped here with my husband and one of my close friends after our stay in Cherokee. It's about 20 mins outside of Cherokee and was a very nice drive out. I went for the 6 tastes for $12.00 which is a good deal. Out of the 6 wines I tasted, I ended up buying 3 bottles. The happy hiker, black bear, and southern hospitality are great treats. read more

The wine, service, and ambience was great. We enjoyed an afternoon of relaxing with an amazing view and delicious wines.

Difficult to get to! There's a one-lane small road shared by the neighborhood with patches of gravel. Glad we were not on our motorcycle! Very little places to pull over. The wines were ok. Our favorites were the raspberry and blackberry wines. Just not what we expected. The views are very nice though. read more

This place is off the beaten path. Loved the interesting location and friendly service. The owners Heather and Rob have two dogs that come to say hi. Other dogs are not allowed. 6 tastes for $8. I liked the Thomas falls (think Nobello or Kim Crawford ) and Fireside Red. My husband likes the southern hospitality (sweet peach infused Chardonnay ). Overall the wine is decent but not amazing. We also ordered the cheese, crackers and salami. The white sharp cheddar was excellent and my husband loves the salami. Fun place to visit. Be ready drive a gravel road drive up a hill- keep going it's worth it for the experience. read more

Great views, our server wasn't well versed in the flavor profiles personally. She read the sheet provided and the wines themselves weren't that great. It's the only winery in the area though so it's worth a shot. read more

I enjoy exploring wineries when I travel, and I haven't found one in the Smoky Mountains yet that I haven't enjoyed. This one was off the beaten path which was part of the appeal. The drive through the mountains was very enjoyable, and it is hidden away over a hillside and up another hill. The view is spectacular, the pups are very friendly, the hosts were engaging, and the wines were tasty. It was quite busy when I was there. I would suppose a different time would have been a bit more peaceful. But it was a nice place to stop for a break driving through the mountains, and I left with several bottles of wine to enjoy through the winter. Next time I'm back in the Smokies, I'm sure I'll stop here again. read more

We were staying at a nearby inn and the owners recommended we come here. We followed GPS up some winding roads and came upon a little building with open patio areas, one with a stunning view of the mountains. Keep is mind that a winery is where they make the wine but not necessarily where the grapes are. I believe this winery sources grapes from several sources. We did a tasting (you get to choose from among various wines) and liked the Malbec so much that we bought a bottle. They also supply water and some crackers to help clear your palate. There was also a large, mellow dog that got lots of attention from the patrons. All in all, a very relaxing and enjoyable experience. I've seen negative reviews of this place because they don't allow kids -- that's fine with us! There are multiple signs on the way saying it is strictly 21 and over. If you don't like that policy, then don't bring junior and missy with you. read more

Well worth the drive to this hidden gem. Wines were delicious and reasonably priced. Views are spectacular. I saw the 1 star reviews about being turned away if you bring children. To be fair to this establishment, they have a sign stating that visitors must be 21+. It's their prerogative to set this rule. No reason to trash the business. Our experience matched the majority of other reviews. The owner Rob is very attentive and courteous. We really enjoyed our time here. Would highly recommend. read more

We spent the morning over at deep Creek, hiking and enjoying the waterfalls. So, we decided to try Deep creek winery. We are glad we did! They were pretty busy for Friday afternoon at 1:30 PM but Rob took care of us and everybody there. Service was excellent. We did the wine tasting and tried a few wines we had never tried before. They were all good. Our favorite was black bear - their sweet blackberry merlot. We also had the cheese, crackers and salami tray. That was tasty. We had a glass of the black bear and bought two black bear bottles to go! We met their two dogs Roi and Ben. Both were super sweet. We enjoyed our visit, and will visit again. The view is beautiful! read more

Decided to try this out and was very satisfied. All of the seating is outside and they are very cautious with Covid safety. I watched the owner (with mask) wipe down a table with spray immediately after it was vacated. We had the wine tasting which was 6 pours for $8. They have a nice selection. The wines were great. We also had the cheese and salami with crackers and enjoyed everything including the great view. We were not rushed at all. The seating is outdoors but is covered so it is fine during the rain and I noticed heat lamps in the ceiling so I would imagine you could visit when it's cold. It is less than 15 mins drive from downtown Bryson City. We got a bottle to go which was only $16. This is a great place to go and relax and try some wine with a great view. I don't see how anyone would not like it here. read more

When you start driving in you begin to wonder if there really is a winery, but keep going! Once you reach the place it is worth it. They source their grapes from California and Europe, so there aren't all just sweet wines. The reds were good, but the whites were very good. Service was very friendly, with a spectacular view. We drove 2 hours to this winery There were 7 of us - our adult children- the youngest being 18 and our 5 year old grandson Only to be turned away Bc of my grandson and 18 year old daughter - I have visited wineries all over the country- especially ones with way better wine; who allow children. During these COVID times and supporting small businesses- that is pretty shitty to turn people away - especially since we would have bought a case or two of wine Shame on you read more

Amazing experience, we learned about the history of the place from Rob (the owner). My fiancé made sure to ask a million questions and he was so kind to answer them all. We enjoyed great cheese and delicious wine, in addition to the beautiful view. Roi and Ben (the owner's dogs) walk around the property in the friendliest of ways, just greeting everyone and waiting to be pet. We felt very safe during our time at the winery as they are following NC state mandates to ensure everyone stays safe and healthy, everyone wore their masks to and from the tables and I believe it gave an added sense of security. All in all, we had a great time at the winery and can understand why the place is so popular! Make sure to visit!! read more

So I took a trip to Deep Creek winery like I normally do when I visit Bryson city. My family has been vacationing here for several decades and we have supported this business since day 1! This last experience was beyond disappointing. They actually refused me and my guest because we had a young child with us. Are you serious? I always rave about this place and support local businesses! I've been in the "biz" for a long time and understand covid times are difficult but To tell me I can't even sit on the patio because I brought my FAMILY is absolutely absurd. Especially when you only had 2 other tables in the whole place. Oh and they used to be dog friendly but thats not allowed now either. I will not support a business like this! Owners were rude, cold and lack basic human decency. Never again! read more

Owners are rude. He made nasty comments to us. He turned away 8 people because we had 2 children under 4. It was empty, no one was there. The only plus was that the dogs were cute which is why I gave them 1 star. Otherwise, I wouldn't waste your time or money on this business that doesn't provide any ounce of hospitality or customer service. read more

Not like it used to be when they first opened. Used to be a hidden family friendly place to visit, trying new wines, enjoying the view. The few hours and days they are open. No kids & No dogs allowed anymore in a family town. Sad to say not sure how long they will be open for much longer. I do not support this business. I will support another business that I feel welcomed. read more

Great wine and lovely couple! We purchased several bottles as gifts. We will be back to this gem of a place.

My husband and I stopped by on a late Friday afternoon. What a quiet, beautiful little gem we found! The wines are delicious, the atmosphere is serene, and the owners, Heather and Rob are super sweet. My favorites were the Thomas Falls White and Big Red Reserve. The grapes are outsourced but they do everything else from fermenting to bottling. We did go during Phase 1 of covid-19, it was clean and met the CDC requirements and all staff were wearing masks. Dog friendly too!! Heather and Rob's two dogs were there and extremely friendly!! We highly recommend this place if you are looking for a place to sit back, enjoy beautiful views and great wine! read more

we were here a few weeks ago. Very nice couple. We were there a bit before they opened, and we were graciously welcomed to take a seat. The wines were very good - and the oregano cheddar cheese was outstanding. The salami (wish I could remember the name of it) was soooo good. We can highly recommend this establishment. It's a bit of a drive through the mountains, but oh so beautiful. We'll be back. read more

Beautiful scenery and delicious wine ! The service is amazing and my mother-in-law and I adored the sweet dog that would walk by for a well deserved scratch. On a girlfriend's weekend trip to visit wineries decided to visit Deep Creek because of reviews. We were greeted outside and told that the inside tables offered us a better view. But as we proceeded to venture in...a voice rudely stops us and asks ...."aren't there any tables outside"...THEN...proceeds to spew forth "I would PREFER that you sit outside" and storms back outside...now that's all I heard. We decided to leave because obviously four Black Women were not welcome here. All of our other winery experiences were lovely but will never visit this establishment again and are making it a point to tell ALL of our friends who love to venture to wineries to avoid this place. read more

Deep Creek Winery was an amazing stop on our vacation! They had two dogs that came to great us and our pup loved making friends with them :) The owners were so friendly and helpful. A wonderfully pleasant afternoon! Ok...the winery is well hidden on back roads about 10 minutes out of Bryson City NC. Given that it is the only winery nearby, we decided to go - even though owners Rob and Heather buy rather than grow their grapes. After growling up the hill we found a modest and unassuming tasting room that was much enhanced by an absolutely magnificent mountain view. The tasting program was generous and easy, made tastier with a well curated cheese board. Owner/winemaker Rob was gracious enough to answer all of our questions, even though he was a bit busy with a number of customers. But the best surprise came with the wines. Ok, perhaps not brilliantly sophisticated, but there was not one on the list that was not thoroughly drinkable and enjoyable. If you are in Bryson City to enjoy the mountains...do not fail to visit Deep Creek for a most pleasant wine afternoon!! read more

We stopped in to this winery while staying over a weekend. It is small and quaint, the owners run the day to day operations and they are very, very friendly! They also have two friendly dogs that will greet you upon arrival. They have a nice outside deck that overlooks a valley, and an indoor area that is covered. They also have a nice fire pit outside. They offer samples, glasses and bottles. We thought the wine was very good. We recommend stopping in if you get the chance! read more

my group and i tried to come here for a wine tasting but we're quickly turned away because we had two 3 month olds with us. we were told this is a place where people can get away from kids. and a condescending "oh didn't you read the sign? you have to be 21 or older". i understand not wanting children or underage adolescents at a winery but 3 month old babies? apparently the wineries' other two guests would be too bothered by, what we were told, "a lot of babies" sleeping. read more
