Horrible care. The doctor doesn't even talk to you, she just talks to her self. I don't even know what she is typing in her computer. And actually at one appointment she asked me if she has ever seen me before. I was already a patient if hers for a year. One time she asked if I wanted a printed report I said yes and she told me "why would you kill trees". I was also overcharged for a virtual visit. I was charged 45min when we were literally online together for 3 minutes. When I called to dispute, I was told I was being billed for 45min because of patient prep time/chart review. Well if she did review she would have known that all I needed was a refill authorization sent to my pharmacy. I will be finding another allergy doctor. read more

Dr. Deeba Masood has absolutely no regard for her patients. This office is a turn and burn. She was an hour and 15 minutes late to a virtual call and once she was on the call, she asked me why I have the appointment. I had already indicated when I made the appt that this was a follow up to labs and a scan she ordered. She was condescending, lacked empathy for a patient who has been sick for almost a year and showed no care in being this late to the appointment. All she indicated was that she was busy. She did not do her homework prior to my 1st appt or 2nd (& ultimately last). She did not review my chart, she kept asking me the same questions repeatedly and when I answered them, she kept saying "wow, that's a lot but you're not really giving me anything to go on here." I apologized for not being sick enough for her but explained in detail everything I was experiencing, including a failed surgery. Do not use this Dr. She is awful. read more

I love Dr. Masood! I've been seeing her for almost 2 years now. I was just looking up her phone number and I came across her Yelp, and saw how little stars she had and I couldn't believe it. Every time I go in to see her, she goes through my list of medical issues; even ones not related to allergies. She always asks about everything. Once I was referred from another doctor to see an endocrinologist but I couldn't get an appointment for 2 months, so she called and got me in within the next week. She does prescribe a lot of medicines, but it takes a couple of different things to deal with allergies, like nose sprays, inhalers and pills. She also helped me make sure those medicines were safe for pregnancy once I started trying to conceive. I started immunology with her, but I was unable to finish because once I got a job I found it hard to keep up with the shots. It is hard to get a hold of a nurse sometimes, especially during the busy spring allergy season, but that has nothing to do with Dr. Masood. If you message her on NorthshoreConnect, she will get back to you within a few days. She has always struck me as caring and knowledgeable. I would recommend her if anyone asked me for an allergist. read more

Dr. Masood is an amazing Dr. I took my son to see her. I have been to multiple Drs. for an immune deficiency that has caused other issues, or at least we were told so. He has been having multiple issues. I was at wits end and did not know who to trust anymore. After weeks of sleepless nights with worry, the day finally came for our visit with Dr. Masood. Because I had been so worked up, I went to the appt very unprepared with info. She was so understanding. Our appt was at 9:30 AM, we left there at 4PM. The day flew by. Never, ever has a Dr. been as thorough as her. She had us go back to when my 20 year old son was a child & discuss every ailment. Waited patiently as I looked up all the info I forgot to bring. Numerous tests on same visit, did not have to come back for. We left there with smiles on our faces and light at the end of the tunnel. Amazing! Highly recommended!!!!!! read more

Dr Deeba Masood is an outstanding doctor, brilliant, caring and compassionate. She is one of the best physicians I have seen, and I am honored to have her as my physician. Her staff, and Lupe are top notch. They couldnt have been more helpful, kind and compassionate. When I was coughing badly in the room, Lupe came to my rescue with wonderful ice water. When I needed help to go to have blood drawn, Lupe was there to be of top assistance. I dont agree with the negative reviews at all. Dr Masood is extremely intelligent, always concerned w the patients best interest, and goes to the bottom line to find out what is wrong w the patient. Other doctors will give up because the case is too hard, but not Dr Masood. You shouldnt have to be unattractive to be a good doctor. She is always professional in her character and her dress. Unfortunately, I had to remove a few stars. It seems I wrote my review a little too soon. Don't get me wrong, Dr. Masood seems to really know her stuff, but the same things that make her such a great doctor, also seem to get in the way of providing the highest level of service. For example, the nurse and doctor both asked me to call to check in and let them know how my medication was working out. I called on Wednesday and left a message. On Thursday, I went to fill one of the prescriptions they had given me (because my samples were running out), and discovered that the prescription was for a medication not covered by my insurance. I called back on Friday because I had not yet heard back from the doctor. It took several phone calls with the nurse to find out that I can take an OTC drug that will do the same thing as the prescription. I also have to go back in for another appointment because my inhaler isn't doing what it's supposed to do. I understand that doctors are busy people, but I've come to expect that ENH physicians will use the online messaging system as a means of communicating with their patients. Dr. Masood doesn't seem to use this system. So, bottom line: I feel that I'm receiving great care from Dr. Masood, but the personal touch is somewhat lacking because of her extremely busy schedule. I think the sheer volume of patients she sees on a daily basis may sometimes result in disorganization and confusion. I won't hesitate to continue seeing her, but felt it necessary to give the full picture in this review. read more

I have seen Dr. Masood a couple of times at the Grayslake (NWH) location. She is goes into extensive detail of your issues, while being friendly and helpful at the same time. She makes me feel at ease and her medical knowledge is impressive. read more

Dr. Masood is a very caring physician. Not only is she very knowledgeable about her specialty but she has the same caring personality that one finds in physicians of the past before insurance companies forced physicians to perform the rush act. She spends the time to carefully explain what the patient's are to know about the treatment plan. She coordinates consultations with other physicians as necessary. Dr. Masood is an EXCELLENT allergist. She listened to my concerns carefully, took 2+ hours of her time, ordered a myriad of tests based on my concerns, symptoms, and research, even tests which aren't typical, such as MCAS/MCAD. She is VERY knowledgeable and friendly, prompt, and her staff is wonderful. I didn't walk out of there with any additional prescriptions than I walked in there with; a nasal spray. I like that she's knowledgeable on the natural fronts as well with regards to vitamin/mineral deficiencies, since a lot of doctors just said that my lethargy was due to depression (never has been). When Dr. Massood was my allergist she was extremely condescending and unhelpful. She wrote my prescriptions I couldn't afford at first, then demanded I make regular visits to get refills. Once I moved she refused to refill the scrip unless I visited, then refused to offer a referral to another allergist closer to me. Dr. Masood was very nice. But, unfortunately, she did not come off as really knowing her stuff! First, she did not listen carefully to all of my symptoms. As soon as she heard that I had gotten a dog recently, she predicted my allergy was due to that, and seemed to shut down with hearing me out. After the allergy test proved it was not my dog, she prescribed a gob of medications assuming that I knew why she was doing that and that I knew enough about each one. I inquired as to how she felt about GMOs (Genetically Modified Organisms) and some doctors' concerns about introducing new proteins, and thus, new allergies into the human system. She seemed at a loss for words and said it was important to eat a healthy diet. I asked if she knew anything about the research being done at the University of Virginia linking a tick bite to an allergic reaction to meat. She was really bewildered then. I am not comfortable with a doctor not keeping up on research. I left the office with no clear diagnosis, just prescriptions for steroids, antibiotics, nasal sprays (two different kinds), allergy pills and a neti-pot (which I had had no experience with before). Needless, to say, my symptoms did not go away. I did go to Dr. Schafer months later. She was equally kind, but truly listened to me. I am two weeks into her diagnosis (of which I agreed must be the case) and regiment for alleviating my symptoms, and I am ecstatic. I can breathe and smell again!
