I got a few quotes from vendors I had reached out to on Yelp (thank goodness for Yelp) after first trying a personal referral from a friend that went poorly. I had two vendors come over and I like the brand of product that Paul brought for cellular shades, Comfortex. They had all sorts of beautiful colors and textures for the fabric cellular shades I had, and it was hard to choose! Another vendor I had come to my house did not have this brand, but had a brand that did not offer a fabric black-out cellular shade. I am really glad I had ABC Shades come over first so that I could see what was out there first. The shades have been installed and they are beautiful. Everything from start to finish was smooth and everything about the process was seamless. Having these new shades have really perked up the appearance of the 3 rooms I had them installed in. I knew they were not going to be cheap, but the fact is that these are custom-built for my windows, and I was able to select a lovely fabric. I also selected a higher end fabric so that I could get exactly what I want because I actually keep my shades closed almost 100% of the time, so I want to make sure I like looking at them. Thanks Paul!

He came today (despite very bad weather) to install them. We love our new shades. Everything was very professionally installed, and he removed all the packaging neatly. We highly recommend Paul Conti and ABC Shades and Blinds. Good value for the money. We have the right shades on a large sliding door, windows which needed privacy with top down /bottom up option, and light filtering. We started out thinking we wanted electric but as we reviewed our needs with Paul, ended up deciding against it. Also it was only about a 3 week turnaround from when Paul came to the house to measure, to installation. Great job

Distinctive Window…read moreCoverings is a small local family-owned business, run by Julie and Joe, with a nice location in downtown North Andover (a cute sunny shoppe, with lots of parking & easy access). I had two large living windows to cover (72 and 84 inch wide) and wasn't sure which style of blinds to go with. Julie was incredibly patient as I flip-flopped back and forth. She offered excellent advice and helped me weigh the pros and cons of all my options. She's so friendly (and funny) and easy to talk to, that I really felt like I had a friend shopping with me! An important aspect and something that I very much appreciated is that she gave me her honest advice regarding functionality and aesthetics, without trying to lean me toward the more expensive options. She genuinely wanted me to be happy with the style and color, no matter what I decided to go with. All my questions were answered promptly, whether I called, texted, or emailed. Her husband, Joe, did the quick and professional installation, and it was very reasonably priced. And I am absolutely THRILLED with my window coverings (I ultimately decided on Hunter Douglas top-down bottom-up blinds). I don't know if the photos (I'm uploading pics of the 72 inch window) does them justice. They are BEAUTIFUL. If you're looking for a friendly, reputable local business that offers quality brands, along with top-notch customer service and installation, this is the place! I should mention that Julie and Joe were also very conscientious in regard to safety during this COVID pandemic (masks, social distancing, etc.), which was very nice during this challenging time.

He was truly friendly and very informative about the products. Sometime later, our patio blinds had an issue and we contacted them. Mike, who was the original installer, came by and shortly after discovered there was another issue going on simultaneously. He took the entire mechanism to the shop where they repaired everything at no cost(minus the visit cost). Fast forward to now, our bedroom blinds stopped working recently and my wife contacted the original installer who informed her that the company was sold and he was no longer there. So she reached out to the new owner, who apparently works 3 days/week and also has another job. After 2 and 1/2 weeks of waiting- the owner called back and without so much as offering an apology to my wife for the waiting time-he proceeded to say that they would come out for a monetary fee but that he now only deals with designers. Needless to say- my wife was not pleased at all by his attitude and his remarks. Fortunately there is a company in Bedford who will be able to repair our blinds. And they were very friendly on the phone. As for Window Fantasies- sounds more like Window Nightmares with this new owner who I can promise will never have our business in this lifetime.
