Starting with the bid process, Dimitri showed up on time, was respectful, and spent the time he needed to measure and clearly document the project. After the proposal was ready, he stopped by and went through every item in detail - the work breakdown for demolition, carpentry, plumbing, tile work, and other optional labor work. Everything was clearly spelled out, and Dmitri answered all of our questions. Our project lasted three weeks. He was on time every day - not a minute late. He would always spend a few minutes every morning going through his plan for the day, reviewing any change requests, and answering questions. The path to the work area was covered and taped with tarps; every single item that needed to be preserved was wrapped and taped with plastic. Entrances to the nearby bedrooms were covered (and the plastic was removed at the end of each day). The mirror and the vanity in the bathroom were properly protected. We were very impressed with his attention to detail. The quality of Dimitri's work was superb. As he was laying down the tiles, he took the time to make sure no tiles with repeating patterns were next to each other, and made sure the tiles were from the same lot. He inspected the new bathtub for defects. He was very conscious about how the project work would inconvenience us (we are all working from home) and he made sure we had plenty of advance notice before the water needed to be shut off for plumbing work. As part of the project, he also took hundreds of pictures to document the process. When you're looking for a contractor, you want someone who has excellent skills, is dependable, responsible, and pays attention to detail. You will be happy with YoungCastle Bathrooms.

That future porch wasn't just a verbal discussion--it was specifically included in my contract and was a major reason I chose this company. Unfortunately, the workmanship has been disappointing from the beginning. The deck boards are uneven and improperly installed, allowing water to pool and collect against the house. There are noticeable gaps in trim and wrapping, the stairs have settled and developed a dip that has caused the railing to bow, and even the stair lights have begun pulling out because of the movement. Whenever I raised concerns, I was repeatedly told everything looked fine or that I needed to wait over a year for the deck to "settle." When the problems continued, the responsibility shifted to me instead of the workmanship. The most disappointing discovery came later. I recently learned that the deck did not pass the county requirements for supporting the future four-season porch that was included in my contract. I now have to spend thousands of additional dollars correcting work that should have been completed properly from the start. What frustrates me most isn't that problems occurred--construction projects can have issues. It's the unwillingness to accept responsibility and the repeated attempts to explain away legitimate concerns rather than deliver the quality and contractual obligations I paid for. For such a significant investment, I expected quality craftsmanship, attention to detail, and a company that would stand behind its work. Never goes over the job before he starts when it is months after he gives your quote and you end up with what he wants to give you plain and simple. I will never hire him again for anything.
