Adam Wallwork is an excellent lawyer with law degrees Adam is an EXCELLENT lawyer from the…read moreUniversity of Chicago (Juris Doctor with Honors) and NYU School of Law (Master of Laws in Taxation). Mr. Wallwork's rates are affordable and his tax and litigation strategies have helped me and my family to save thousands of dollars in the past month alone. I hired Mr. Wallwork two days AFTER the New Jersey Superior Court had entered judgment against me and ordered me to pay years of back rent due under a bogus contract I'd canceled long ago. I thought I'd lost the case and so did Experian. My credit score, which has always been very good, was seriously impacted by the judgment against me since I could hardly afford to pay it. Within two weeks, Mr. Wallwork reversed the outcome: he got the New Jersey judge to rescind his order and dismiss the case against me. I didn't even know that was possible! In the end, I paid none of the company's bogus rental charges and the court's earlier judgment was removed from court records and my credit report after Mr. Wallwork sent letters on my behalf to Experian, Equifax, and Transunion free of charge. I was so impressed with Mr. Wallwork's handling of the contract litigation, his responsiveness, and his tenacity, that I hired him the same month to handle various other tax and business matters. Mr. Wallwork's tax advice has, if anything, proved more valuable than his successful litigation of my contract case because his work reorganizing my finance will likely generate tax savings of $2,000 EACH YEAR. On my advice, my mother also hired Mr. Wallwork for legal matters relating to her taxes, estate, and rental business. In just three week, Mr. Wallwork has rewritten lease contracts for my mother's tenants in New Jersey and Virginia, and helped to secure delinquent. Although I realize this review is very long, it is hardly enough to express my appreciation for Mr. Wallwork's outstanding work. For people like me and my mother, who aren't wealth, world-class legal representation is hard to come by and something should be said about Mr. Wallwork of Sills Cummis & Gross who has given us the benefit of world-class, affordable legal representation right here in Newark.

I used this firm for a divorce. That's right -- not ONE, not TWO, not THREE, not FOUR, not FIVE, but SIX WEEKS. I could have gotten a default judgment. My understanding, although not a NJ lawyer, is that this case management failure is malpractice. Damages are obviously another issue, but a cut and dry case of malpractice nonetheless. 2) Fees: They quoted $1,500, took that amount as a retainer, and charged me another $1900 on top of that. The additional fee might be warranted for competent legal counsel, however please see points 1 and 3. 3) Client communication: They did not communicate that they would be billing me an additional amount. When I asked them a fairly simple question about whether I needed a form, they responded with "I don't know" and billed me $50 for the pleasure of having them read that email, $50 for them to research that answer of pure legal genius, and $50 for responding to my email. It was a question that they should have known. 4) Firing them: When I tried to tell them I didn't want them to represent me, they continued to contact me and bill me, again for this distinct pleasure. My husband's lawyer (Corinne M. DeStefano) did a much better job in a much more timely manner for a much better rate.

Harry's wealth of experience in residential and commercial real estate was reassuring as it was impressive. He was able to anticipate and warn us of all of the gotchas and pitfalls well before we came across them. He tackled some of the trickier negotiation points with ease and prepared us early with advice that proved to be a big help further along in the process. This was huge for us, as this was our first time buying a house and had no prior experience whatsoever. Equally impressive was the teamwork and coordination between Harry and Tom, as well as Legal Assistants Sarah and Barbara. Whenever we emailed or called anyone at the Ko Firm, they always seemed to all be on the exact same page. What stood out to me, however, was the incredibly friendly and down-to-earth manner of everyone at the Firm. I really felt that everyone had our best interests in mind and that they were looking out for us. It's not at all what you would expect from a typical lawyer. As someone who previously worked at an AmLaw 100 firm, I can tell you that this balance of experience, professionalism, and empathy is extremely rare in this industry. I would recommend the Ko Firm wholeheartedly to anyone looking for a real estate attorney in this area. At the very least, if we ever run into a need for legal services or advice, Harry and his team will be the first ones to get my call.
