It wasn't especially cold, and we were dressed appropriately with warm coats, snow pants, hats, and gloves. I was surprised to see many visitors who weren't dressed for the cold. Although you can warm up at the cafe, it's best to dress for the cold because it can be frigid. Over the years, we have visited Zoo Lights many times, and it's always a fun experience for our family. I was surprised this year, however, to see the decorations have been scaled back. Zoo Lights is smaller than in previous years, and areas that were open in the past are now closed down. Our boys loved Zoo Lights and enjoyed visiting Santa and riding the carousel. Thank you for a fun evening, Hogle Zoo!

Run from this company, they are crooks through and through!!

The minute I waked in it smelt so amazing. It was very inviting. There were hundreds of trees all decked out for purchase, as well as Nativity sets, wreaths & quilts. There were rally neat Gingerbread houses and a small area to buy crafts, as well as the sweet section to purchase yummy treats. This is a short 4 day event where you can buy the trees or other items up for purchase. Trees ranged from $200 up to one I saw was $8k! On Thursday the second day of the event most trees had already sold. Many trees were honoring deceased love ones, and had really special tributes to things they liked... biking, toys, etc. it felt really special. They had choirs performing as well as instrumental performances on two serrated stages. Entrance was $10 on Thursday and at 11am it was quite crowded actually. I purchase a ticket in advance and scanned my phone at the door to get in. Easy breezy. Parking was a bit crazy but I just ended up driving over to where it wasn't so hectic and people weren't fighting for spots. Would love to visit this again next year!

I understand staffing issues and they are Christmas lights- not the end of the world- I'm disappointed about the lack of communication and the fact they waited too long to tell us. Really enjoyed the wonderful synchronization of music with the colorful lights. They definitely put a lot of effort into making this entertaining for guests. This is a no-cost, high quality light show that is very accessible from the I-15. Around 7 there are already a lot of cars parked right outside, so I recommend getting here early to secure a good spot. It doesn't seem people get outside the vehicle, perhaps out of courtesy or because of the cold, but I was able to hold my daughter and let her enjoy the light show relatively close up. Highly recommended if you're looking for something more chill at no cost (although I've heard the thanksgiving point lights are quite good). There's something for everyone here, but our kids especially love it. Each season, the ranch adds new activities, and despite the growing crowds, it never feels too packed thanks to the wide-open space and plenty to do. Our kids make a beeline for the corn pits first thing--they could play there for hours! They're also big fans of the giant slide and obstacle course. As a dad, I have to say their burgers are top-notch--some of the best you'll find at any local event. Just don't wait until the end of the night like I did, or you'll be stuck in a long line. And whatever you do, don't skip the donuts! They come in cinnamon sugar and glazed, and while both are amazing, the glazed ones are my personal favorite. The hayride is always a relaxing highlight of the evening. If you plan to visit later in the day, make sure to dress warmly--it gets chilly fast once the sun goes down! It might even be nice if the ranch offered blankets for guests on those cold nights. One small suggestion for the staff: at the rock climbing wall, please make sure younger kids get assigned to the easier side. My 7-year-old was put on the harder one and only made it a few feet up, but she still had fun trying! Overall, Cross E Ranch continues to deliver an unforgettable fall experience.
