I'm more of a vintage clothing shopper but this was a fun place to look around. Some highlights were star wars toys, a wall of records, weird pipes, lots of artwork, and a coco cola collection. This shop is a good mix of well-lit vendor booths filled with antique, vintage and reproduction items. They sell a decent variety of paint and hardware if you're looking to up-cycle your projects. For all you do-it-yourselfers out there, we saw a really nice selection of tin ceiling tiles and barnboard available! I always feel nostalgic looking through the vintage stuff from the '70s. Both of us spotting different items and laughing, "hey, do you remember this?" There were several booths that had "sale" signs up offering 10-20% off of all items in that booth. Keep your eye out for great deals. Hubby scored a working toy machine gun (with original box) for 20% off! The lady I spoke with (the owner?) was chatty and very nice. This store obviously had a lot of regular & loyal customers as she seemed very familiar with a number of patrons in the store. I love antiques and interesting things, so we just had to make a trip to see for ourselves. As soon as we walked into the store, I was floored. I just stood and stared, coming just short of jumping up and down and clapping my hands like a kid in a candy store! I knew instantly, this was my kind of place. We were warmly greeted by the owner Alex, chatted for a bit about the business and some of the interesting items he had. We set off to wander around and we were both impressed with the sheer volume and quality of items in the shop. We also noted that the prices were reflected in the caliber of the pieces. On that note, Alex was more than willing to haggle on the prices. They had everything from collections (the Simpsons stuff was wicked cool) to pinball games, toys, oil & gas items/advertising, tins, signs, neon, bicycles, and there's even a Zoltar machine!!! I don't know if in general the lighting in the entire building has been improved or if that was just individual booths and vendors. It was pleasant not to have to watch my step and not stumble over items placed on the floor. Booths were tidy and clean and offered many different items. Items were fairly priced for a variety of budgets. Even though shopping baskets were available I was able to bring my found treasures to the front counter to be held for me while I continued browsing. A couple of months ago I asked to wrap a few plates for me to take home, she did but refused to wrap them with bubble wrap or something and didn't pack them properly. I got home 2 km away with a broken plate. This week I went to the market looking for salt/pepper shakers. The market didn't have any bags/baskets to carry items around so I left them at the front. Long story short my items were sold to another person without his or my consent (included in his bill and he didn't realiZe). After confronting the lady, she was super rude and her apology wasn't really an apology. Her comment to me was "this isn't an upscale place or the Bay". I have been involved with antique shops all over Canada for over a decade and I have never encountered such disorganized management with such a bad attitude. I had also never had any of my items, kept at the front, sold to another person. While the items in here can be great I recommend caution with the staff, they just aren't prepared to handle a professional business.

I can tell you that it reminded me of a huge garage sale. And who doesn't love a good garage sale?! I found a beautiful chess board for $80 that I considered buying but talked myself out of later. It was gorgeous though. I also found a beautiful old antique trunk. It was really nice. I wouldn't have anywhere to put it though so I didn't check the price. They had a lot of different things to go through. From Elvis pictures to old Coke bottles, to wood carvings - there was a lot of stuff. The first time I was in the shop was honestly to only grab flowers to brighten a friend's day. Yet, I ended up walking out with an assortment of things - ribbon tape, soap, some candles, hand cream, Edmonton trivia cards, etc. Small but unique or local items always makes good gifts! I love so many things in this store and recommend this place if it's gift giving items you're looking for or even the extra self love/care items. I've shopped here for gifts that I felt I could further customize for friends and family or add to a group gift to enhance the selected theme. The staff is always very helpful when they see me looking at the displays or carrying multiple items (I walk with a cane so I appreciate their concern of I can hold onto something for a time). I've even suggested this place to others to stop at when they come to Edmonton as it's a very pretty store just to pop into quickly for future inspiration. Most recently I've bought myself bouquet filter to fix my seasonal bouquet (sadly the seasonal element to a Christmas bouquet was severely lacking from a different store - people let this be a lesson on you get what you pay for). So I can confirm their product lasts a good amount of time or longer than expected. I've brought multiple bouquets and floral items from them in the last couple of years and everyone I've gifted a bouquet has said the same thing. If I could give a 4.5 I would as seriously this place. It truly is a great as a store and the shop for the most part is arranged to give a lots of space to move around. This was before only a few people were allowed in at a time (covid restrictions). They even have the most lovely shop dog. Hand sani out at the front and easy to read signs. It's honestly the parking lot that makes it go down a point. As someone that is mobility limited, I don't enjoy the real life game of frogger. Especially in winter amongst cars entering quickly off the corner of Whyte ave and 96 St into the uniquely shaped and noticeably slopped parking lot. To make things really challenging for drivers (and shoppers trying to get to and from cars), there's one access point parking lot. Lots of times you see people backing up further into the lot or back on the street to get another car out or into the parking lot. So drive with caution, especially when reversing. Yes, there's a handicap stall and a few other spots near the door but that's usually the first to be taken. Especially if it's a long weekend. I don't mind trying to challenge myself from time to time with walking distances but it's the slope in the parking lot that personally makes me nervous in winter due to my lack of balance. The unique parking situation is not the shop's fault. One assumes from the look of the building, the footprint is definitely from the older days. Do keep in mind if you choose to park there, that the lot is shared with Earth's General Store. As you can imagine, being connected to a small and unique grocery store creates a very busy parking lot with usually few people waiting to go inside (due to limited number of customers allowed at one time). So if you can bike, bus or walk over, I would recommend it. Bike rack is located along the dividing wall that leads to the sister store of Maven and Grace. Bus stop is literally as close as you can get for a bus stop on Whyte Ave. I have also noticed the last few months a lot of people parking in the Humpty's lot across the street or along the other side of Whyte Ave (so not to be in the bus zone) and walking over. All in all, the shop itself is awesome to find that perfect gift or brighten your own day with something a little special.

Check them out too!), and I will definitely be back! When you walk into the store, it's just so beautiful! The products are nicely displayed, it smells wonderful and the prices for items are fairly reasonable. It's not just a store with a bunch of local knick knacks, but they have some unique kitchen supplies, chocolates, body care, beard care, jewelry, etc. I picked up 2 PLAYin CHOC which is like an organic kinder surprise. It's dairy, nut and plastic free and the little toy inside is either an endangered or woodland animal. When I open them, I'll post more pics. And also picked up 2 Karat chocolate bars, and oh my....are they ever delicious! They're a company out of Kelowna and I'm a new fan for sure! They're Pineapple Upside Down is scrumptious and then we also got the Milk and Cereal bar. Both are amazing! If you're in the Whyte Ave area, definitely check out Maven and Grace.
