(Believe it or not!) She is amazingly thorough and dedicated to getting answers and building the strongest case possible. We also had a VERY difficult and temperamental judge who flipped back and forth on us. But in the end, Ms. Novar was able to convince her of our arguments and was also very creative in her approach. The judgement weighed heavily in our favor, compared to what my spouse was asking for. And by the way, I had tried mediation before contacting Ms. Novar, and was advised to settle out of court, as there are "certain guidelines" the courts would use to establish spousal support. Well, she blew those guidelines out of the water with the case she presented! Just for a frame of reference - it was a 28-yr marriage in which my husband wanted support to the tune of $230,000 plus legal fees. He got $35,000 and no legal fees! I'd recommend Ms Novar 10 times over, not only for her legal expertise, but also because she is simply a great person.

A friend of mine, whose children I've helped raise for the past six years, asked if I would be…read morewilling to become guardian for her two young girls. Two years prior, I had the pleasure of working with Ms. Fanning in order to establish Power of Attorney for these children and had had a great experience with her, so I reached out to her again. Unfortunately, the guardianship process did not turn out to be as simple as originally expected. However, every step of the way, Ms. Fanning handled things with grace and confidence, helping me to feel more confident as well. It was clear that she was, first and foremost, dedicated to the protection and well-being of the children, which was what was most important to me. Throughout the process, Ms. Fanning fielded several questions from me as this was all new, and even encouraged me to reach out "just for reassurance" as the process became overwhelming at times. On several occasions, I spoke with Ms. Fanning's office staff and they always handled my questions with professionalism and kindness. I would wholeheartedly recommend Ms. Fanning to anyone looking for a wise, yet caring, attorney.

When I got to the appointment I was asked to wait for Mr B. When I said I had an appointment for Ms Fanning, I was told that Mr B often takes her appointments. I was never told that Ms Fanning wouldn't take my appointment. The staff was very polite, however, I made the appointment two months out and talked to the staff several times and each time it was said that it was in preparation of my meeting with Ms Fanning. Never was it mentioned that Ms Fanning would not be meeting with me, or even that she worked with another lawyer. I refused the appointment with the other lawyer and walked out for two reasons. The first because I wanted to see the lawyer that was recommended to me. The second, because it was poor communication at best, deceptive at worst. Either way, it was enough to break my trust. No amount of money would make this a good choice. On a less important convenience note, the office has no marking on the outside and it isn't clear if there is a public door. Although, I was called the day before to remind me of the appointment, no help directions were given.

I left with the impression she'd agreed to be my attorney -- she told me she would take my case and she explained in depth the cost structure and how to leave a retainer. I needed a couple of weeks to work out the money situation, and when I came back to sign up with her, she never responded to my attempts to make contact. I later called and a secretary told me this is common practice for Ms. Sendlebach -- she will charge you for a consultation and then ghost you if she decides she doesn't want to take the case. Honestly, I feel scammed out of $650. She could have just said she wasn't taking new clients and I would have gone elsewhere. Or if she said during our conversation that my case seemed too complicated for the time she has open, I would not have continued sitting there talking to her about my case. This is a very stressful time in my life, and I would not recommend using Ms. Sendlebach until she changes her policies.
