Sam is a great lawyer for a fair price. Legal issues can be so stressful, but Sam was consistently reassuring and made me feel like I was in good hands. He took the time to really listen and made sure I felt supported every step of the way. His dedication and professionalism stood out, and I'm so grateful for his help. If you're looking for a lawyer in Ann Arbor or Ypsilanti, I would absolutely recommend Sam Bernstein. He's not just a great attorney--he's someone who genuinely cares about his clients and works hard to deliver the best possible outcomes.

Terrible regrets in hiring this inattentive and disinterested person. He had over 100 pending cases…read moreand time for no one. He caused a simple misdemeanor to linger on for 2.5 years with over 12 adjournments because he was not prepared or scheduled multiple court appearance at the same time. Bernstein angered the judge by being late for sentencing, judge had the court clerk call him after shouting at me "where is Mr. Bernstein?" He then appeared in his car on the side of the road with his laptop, he once again left to appear in a felony case of a man in prison then turned up again on zoom for my sentencing with the judge fuming. He was sitting splay legged. stretched out in a chair looking angry in a breakout room at a prison. He said nothing to support my character or represent me. The judge took her spite out on me and was very aggressive with him. I had asked to go to trial, and he spent every opportunity to tell me how much stress it would be even though I was innocent. He wanted me to take a plea deal against my wishes as he works his magic with the prosecutors and manages to make thousands by not representing the wishes of his clients. I asked what was required of the plea deal he told me a couple hundred dollars in fine, 20 hrs. community service and 1 year probation that would be dismissed probably at 6 months and total expungement off my record, I stupidly agreed because he said I could have up to $15000 in fines and 2 years in prison which was a lie. The reality became $1200 in court costs, 80 hours community service and 2 years' probation and NO EXPUNGEMENT written into plea agreement, he lied to me. He refuses to appear for sentencing or probation hearings. The judge asked about him at a probation hearing with another defendant that he abandoned in court just as he did me. He will be tried in the court of public opinion.
