I went to this shop severl times to buy furnitures and donate few boxes of clothes, toys, lamps etc. I used to help in a charity shop myself so I understand that most people there were volunteers and wasn't expecting too much about the service. I bought a sofabed few days ago again and when the deliver men left, I noticed that the seat was slanted. I tried to open the bed up and it was not in the right position. I didn't really see the bottom of the sofa when I was in the shop since it was kind of hidden amount other furnitures.
I admit that I'm not an expert for furnitures. I expect what I see is what the condition is. I thought the furnitrue was faluty and called the shop about the condition. They agreed for the pick up and asked me to go in and get my refund or see if there are anything I would be interested in the shop. Two deliver men came pick up the furniture and I showed them what's wrong and they also agreed that the sofa was faluty. I went back to the shop right after the pick up and saw they were sorting out the bed.
To my surprise, after some adjustment it was fine. ..One staff saying to the other "they don't even bother to..." didn't realize I was standing beside them. Truely, it was't that I don't like it. Two staff there kept repeating, with amazingly unbelivable expression saying "there wasn't anything wrong..need to be soft handed.., I was there when I sold it..we can't give you refund untill we sell it again... loads of people would like this kind of furnitures... it's new....." Frankly speaking, I was a bit embarrassed but much more frighten of being suggestedly accused of dishonesty. I've been supporting charity for over 15 years. If not because of their attitude, I would have just taken the sofa back or even just donated it again to the shop .. but they let me feel horrible. Now, I'm waiting for my £100. The last time I walk in to that shop is to get my refund. read more
