Debi is a talented, experienced, and one-of-a-kind florist. She is such a pleasure to work with! She did the flowers for my wedding. They were absolutely stunning. I showed Debi pictures of some flower ideas. The actual bouquet was even more beautiful! She combines colors and types of flowers perfectly and with such expertise. I got so many compliments on my flowers. We also get Mother's Day flowers from Debi, and our moms love them. We got our friend flowers for her PhD graduation, and the custom bouquet Debi made was by far the most gorgeous there. :) In addition to Debi's wide knowledge of flowers, her amazing customer service is what truly sets her apart. It is a privilege working with her. So glad she is so close in South Elgin. read more

Terrible Service. I visited today, highly expecting to make a purchase. 2 employees in the store with clear view to the door did not acknowledge me at all. I even made eye contact with one employee. When I left nothing was said. Never again. read more

If you need flowers for any occasion or just to brighten your day, you must go to Debi! She is incredible and caring and always goes over and above. She has always been in the store when I have stopped by, so she truly is the driving force of the business. But she makes it seem like you are talking with a close friend. Over the past few years, Debi did flowers for my Mother-in-Law's 100th birthday, my father's memorial and just last week my mother's memorial. All fresh and beautiful. She listens to you. Terrible service and terrible flowers! I don't know how Debi gets such great reviews after the experience I had. Apparently she doesn't know how to deal with complaints. My brother in Florida sent me flowers for my birthday. They were delivered on a Thursday and by Tuesday the following week, they were dead. I called Debi's Designs and it went to voicemail twice. So I left a message late Tuesday afternoon. I called her again Wednesday afternoon since she didn't return my call. She said she got my message and reviewed my order. She didn't say why she didn't call and I didn't ask and I wondered if she even planned on calling me back. But she said one of the flowers (I don't recall the name of it) only lasts a few days. That was a surprise to me because I've never had flowers last only a few days. Why would anyone sell flowers that only last a few days? She also said that Asiatic lilies and roses only last about 5 days, which isn't true. I've had roses last more than a week and have had lilies last about 2 weeks from other florists. Maybe hers only last 5 days. If that's the case I don't know why she doesn't get more complaints and bad reviews. She said if I would've called the day after I received them, then she would've replaced them. Why would I call the next day when they didn't start wilting or dying until a few days later? I also told her that I work too and have a hard time making calls during the day since she closes before I get off work. She said that's not an excuse and repeated it several times and talked over me. I mentioned that I bought flowers from Jewel a week and a half ago and they were still thriving and she told me she was offended by that comment. I told her the only reason I brought it up is because I take care of flowers by trimming the stems and changing the water. So the reason for her flowers dying wasn't because I wasn't taking care of them. And I told her I was disappointed that flowers that came from a florist died so quickly. I thought they would've lasted longer than flowers from Jewel. She told me she gets great reviews from all her customers. Then she became very rude and loud. I told her she was horrible. She said I was horrible and told me to never call her again and hung up. I've never had that bad of an experience with any other business. I wasn't yelling or angry or swearing. I was very calm until she raised her voice. I've never had flowers die on me that quickly and wanted her to know. But I guess she doesn't care if any customers are unhappy because she has enough customers that give her great reviews. Terrible way to run a business! Sorry Debi - Jewel's flowers ARE better than yours. And don't worry - I won't call you again. read more

Debi was recommended to me by Carla Keeney, the events manager at the St. Charles Country Club. I can honestly say she is one of the sweetest people I have ever met. She paid such meticulous detail to the ideas I had in mind for the flower arrangments and bouquets at my wedding. I was blown away when I saw the finished product. I didn't think it would be possible to get exactly what I had pictured in my head - at the price I wanted, no less! Every floral arrangement in my wedding - from the floral arrangements on the pews at our church to the bouquets to the table arrangements - was PERFECT. We were thrilled. I would recommend Debi to anyone! read more

I ordered a floral arrangement for same day pick up with Debi over the phone and the experience was great. I wasn't particular about the design and just requested the freshest flowers available. Debi did a great job putting it together in a nice vase with a cute ribbon. It was a wonderful value for the price and my sister loved her flowers! I was running a little late and Debi even allowed me to pick up a few minutes after closing. I definitely recommend her shop! read more

I give 5 stars for the flowers I ordered, but 0 stars for customer service. I'm not sure how she stays in business when she's ridiculously difficult to reach on the phone. Out of 5 calls, she answered once, on the 3rd call, when she took my order (after not returning the voicemail from my first call from several hours earlier or my second call). I was about to go elsewhere thinking she must not want the business. This was for a $100 arrangement and 2 balloons...not a cheap order. I've called twice since then to request the receipt I asked for last week, and no answer or callback. It shouldn't be this difficult to do business. Next time, I'll go elsewhere. read more

My friend ordered flowers for my mom, who was in the hospital. The flowers were sent to the house, but no one was there to receive them. I got a call from the delivery driver and immediately called Debi at the shop to see if it'd be possible to redirect them to the hospital. Debi was extremely kind and understanding and immediately reached out to her driver. Even though it was a little late in the day, they made sure that my mom was able to get the flowers. I was already so impressed with the level of customer service that I received, but the flowers themselves were fresh and beautiful. My mom loves them and they helped to brighten her day. I haven't had the honor of ordering flowers from Debi's Designs personally, but the next time I need to place a flower order, I know where I'll be calling. read more

Wow I'm not even sure where to start. I was in a jam today (Valentines Day) on a Sunday during a snowstorm as I forgot to send my nieces roses. I had called several florists in both St Charles and South Elgin and every time I was told the same thing, "we can't deliver at 4pm on Valentine's Day". I came across Debbie's on google and gave them a call. From the initial person I talked to all the way to Debbie herself, they were completely professional, understanding, and you could tell they cared about their customers. End of story: Debbie created 2 beautiful flower arrangements for my nieces, included chocolates at no charge, and made sure they were delivered on Valentine's Day. Come to find out from Debbie, this is her 1 year anniversary from her grand opening. Congrats on all of your success in year 1, I know with customer service like yours that will enjoy many many more. In my opinion there is not a better florist in the area Thanks again Steve read more

Debi was recommended to my daughter and me by Carla Keeney, the events manager at the St. Charles Country Club as a previous poster also stated. After we met with Debi the very first time, we knew we had found our florist. Debi is a joy to work with. She is an EXTREMELY sweet person and listens very carefully as you share what you are envisioning, and offers wonderful suggestions as well. Everything was gorgeous from the brides bouquet to the table arrangements to the flowers at church, we loved them all. When I look at my daughter's wedding pictures, my eye is still drawn to the phenomenal flowers and I marvel at the extraordinary job that Debi did. You will not be disappointed, actually, get ready to be blown away. read more
