Zero stars. Don't make the mistake of signing up with Charter!…read more Look at Charter's terrible reviews everywhere. Consumerist magazine (not-for-profit subsidiary of Consumer Reports) calls Charter the "worst company in America." It's no wonder Charter went bankrupt a few years ago. This sleazy firm's business practices include: - cutting your satellite cable, then insisting that customer fight with Charter's 3rd party unlicensed contractor instead of honestly owning up to their mistake and correcting it. - moving your first bill due date ahead after first bill, without prior notification (told this is a "standard" Charter procedure on 2nd bill) - insisting that customers wait 45 days (unbelievable but true) for Charter's Autopay system to take effect, then warning that double payments may occur when customer attempts to make a one-time payment prior to the interim due date (as a safety measure) - moving from CSR agents in South Carolina to the Phillipines, where they lie to customers by claiming healthy account status with zero problems and confirming Autopay sign up weeks ago, then cutting off all services including (Emergency 911) shortly thereafter, without prior notice - migrating from helpful humans to speak with or chat online (about no-service issues) to worthless automated systems - poor no-service reliability I really wanted to love Charter. Our credit history is well above 700 and we always pay bills on time. But after several serious attempts to cooperate with Charter, acting as a good customer to straighten out their billing errors, all of our attempts have been futile. I recommend that prospective customers view the 800+ complaints about Charter on another website, plus other sites, before wasting your time. If you like unethical business practices, you'll love Charter!

I may stay an ATT customer only because they are the only fiber option in my area, but the…read moreinstallation and service process has been the worst experience I have ever seen. They completely missed the first install date and when I called after they had missed the window they told me the installation was canceled and I must have done it as they are not able to cancel...... I did not cancel. Then they did the installation on Friday and everything was work. Perfect great, not so fast, it was down the next evening. I called back in for them to tell me, "my self install wasn't scheduled until next week and my system was not active." What? After a little over an hour and a new activation the system was back up. Now we are home free? Nope! The next morning the system was down again. I was busy in the morning so I called in the afternoon. I was told then that my equipment was scheduled to arrive until next Wednesday (4 more days) and they couldn't help me. I re-explained several times that my installation was done by ATT not myself and I had the equipment and it was working. They told me they couldn't help on. A Sunday and they didn't gave me scheduled until my equipment was to arrive on Wednesday. I asked to be transferred to the cancellation department hoping to get someone who actually understands what I am saying, but was told they couldn't help with this on a Sunday either..... I then reach out to my local sales rep who reaches out to his manager. The manager reaches out to the Director of fiber/internet/the right person????? Well it has been 2 more days and I am still not working and they are talking about sending a tech out with an 8 hour window tomorrow. Now for those you pay attention this is the Wednesday date I was given by the CS people on Sunday.... I also received a message with FedEx tracking number to let me know equipment I already have is being shipped and will arrive by then. And, I have been told that my mentioning please send me to department to speak to someone about canceling has somehow broken the system and is complicating fixing the issue. At this point I really don't know what to say. This is ATT not chuck in a truck internet. I am embarrassed for them. One thing I really don't have clarity on, is do they think this is acceptable or par for the course? The manager I have been speaking with seems frustrated and trying to help, I would even say going out of his way to be available and responding. But, behind him I get the feeling it just how things work. The gaps in process and technology are really astounding. I am somewhat trapped and this is my fault as I did cancel xfinity once this was initially up and working. Big mistake- although xfinity wasn't fiber it did in fact work.
