Between the market loss on the value of our house and the $82,000 cost (!) to get the mold remediation and reconstruction done, I was really freaking out about how much we were going to lose on the sale of the house. We started off using my stepdaughter's then-fiancé as our realtor, and it was a disaster. He was uncomfortable with how I stressed I was and was afraid to tell me anything he thought I might get more upset about, so he didn't do his job -- which was to tell us the truth about what he had to do to get our house sold. At one point we suddenly started getting solicitation letters from realtors, which I assumed had to be unethical because we already had one... Or so we thought. We found out we had fallen through the cracks and he had orgotten to renew our agreement, so we found out from other realtors that we were no longer represented and the house was no longer listed. When we signed on with the Barkleys we found out that some things our former realtor was doing or trying to do were unethical or illegal, and we knew that we could trust them to do it right.
