What sold me was the fresh food they serve children everyday, the healthy snacks, the clean facility and the friendly environment. This daycare has went above and beyond my expectations. This isn't just a daycare for us, they have become an extended family to my son and I. So if you're looking for a daycare in the Dearborn area, I strongley recommend Children's Garden.

Like other reviews state, the default solution for misbehavior is sending a student home. For working parents this is not always an option. When we chose this school for our child, we were told that his special needs were something they were able to handle. This was not our experience. Every slight misbehavior was a phone call home and a request to be picked up. This only reinforces the bad behavior and it continues. We provided extensive evaluations of our child from a psychologist and pediatrician and none of their recommendations were taken into consideration by the school or any leadership. As other families have stated, requests for more information about incidents were met with AI generated responses, canned responses, or no response at all. Requests for meetings with leadership went unanswered until I stated that we were seeking legal council. Our child was also unenrolled without warning after stating we had spoken to an attorney, which was clearly retaliatory. Please consider other options for your child

Forever Young Childcare Academy (at the time named Adventures in Learning) was the first daycare that we legitimately felt comfortable leaving our child in their care. On top of our comfort level, our daughter loved it immediately. She warmed up to Ms. Jill and Mr. Aaron from day 1 and they are absolutely wonderful with the kids. When we had a second child (son) 5 years ago, we never had a second thought to bring him to a daycare other than Forever Young Childcare Academy. Both of our kids love Forever Young and they continue to attend in the summer. Without question, I would recommend this daycare to anybody looking!

I'm an EMT and my husband is a full time firefighter. They said they would work with us however needed. Our first clue should have been his behavior. They told us that most kids during thier first experience in daycare act that way, but I still had a bad feeling. I started to do more research, but they checked out online well. This was Masons first daycare experience and he also has attention problems. We clearly told them this and told them I was worried he might not adjust perfectly at first, but again, they told me he would be ok. By September, things were out of control. They kept telling us that he needed help, that he wouldn't sit ( again, at this point he had just turned 3) and a pile of other things. He was terrified to get out of the car in the morning, completely not normal, and was darkly emotional after my afternoon arrival. Eventually they said he MUST be potty trained, or he wouldn't be able to continue at that school. We abided by thier wishes, this was something we were trying anyway, and then they put him in a new classroom for 3 year olds. Things just got worse. They wouldn't greet him in the morning, or even get up off thier chairs, they complained of him every afternoon. On top of that, he was on a new medication to help with the attention difficulties. We THOUROGHLY explained that his Dr. said he might be a little drowsy the first two weeks. They manager of the school said, don't worry! We can work through it. A week later I get a call from his "teacher" stating Mason is interrupting class because he gets too tired at lunch and it's bad for the class. Also, he had escaped out the back half door, that had "lost" the childproof knob. By the way, the back door past the half gate leads out to a back field with a road beyond it and the door has no alram , if a three year old child was to open it. I expressed my concern about that many times and it was never fixed. We decided right then and there to pull him. I only wish we had sooner, who knows what he absorbed mentally there. We took Mason to a phyciatrist after this to make sure that we were in fact not over thinking thier actions. The Phyciatrist group in Livonia said it was not the first time they had heard the same senario unfortunately. They said we did the right thing. Please, please pay attention to your child's behavior if you do go with this school. Mason was bit over 7 times in just two months, there were times when he had fecal matter still on his rear, and they talked about all of these downfalls and things they didn't like about him right in front of him. Children need a loving, nurturing environment in these developing years. In our experience, they treat each child like a object, not family. We just hope this reaches someone out there and makes a difference.

Prior to starting here, they had been at another facility that provided lunches for kids and was slightly closer to home. At the other place we had some bad experiences. So I was exceedingly cautious about starting here. However, the staff made sure the boys felt welcomed from the very start (at our tour)! They handle potty words and discipline in an immediate fashion without humiliating the child. One other boy bit my kid while they were playing but because the policy for discipline is not to punish but remove the kids and then have them talk it over, the boys are actually "best friends" now they tell me. (At our prior school, there was a boy who did the same and the kids told me he was told he may "have to go back to the baby room since he was acting like a baby" and to this day they still talk about how that child "will never come to our parties") The communication is great too. The first week they provide a written document of what happened during the day, which is very helpful. The nap schedule is posted right outside the door so you can see if your kid slept when you pick them up. And they send home any uneaten food so you know what your kid ate. They also seem to genuinely care for the children, telling us stories about how cute they are or funny things they said. As my boys get ready for public school, they keep telling me that they don't want to leave their current school. I'm so happy I found this place, and would highly recommend it!

Two months into this journey, I'm so impressed by the breadth of experiences and knowledge the children at this school are exposed to, even the youngest among them. Every day, his wonderful teacher Ms. Stephanie, and her assistant Ms. Kris, send home a small slip that tells us what he "worked" on that day. What we see as play often times is work for these little humans we live with because they're working on developing skills. Imagine my surprise when I found out they were doing food tastings from the Toddler Garden, learning how to slice bananas, and working on practical life skills such as self-care. Our son, now 20-months-old will independently carry his bowl or plate to our kitchen sink, throw away garbage and help us sort recyclables, assist with pick up his dirty laundry or put away books, etc. Did I mention this is my same child who wasn't walking independently at 17-months-old, and after one week surrounded by his peers he was doing laps around our kitchen table? He has gained so much independence and confidence in these two short months, and as a parent that makes me more confident than ever about our choice to entrust the staff at DHMC with development. They're not just looking at test scores and assessments, they truly do teach to the "whole child" as advocated by the Montessori curriculum.
