Two months into this journey, I'm so impressed by the breadth of experiences and knowledge the children at this school are exposed to, even the youngest among them. Every day, his wonderful teacher Ms. Stephanie, and her assistant Ms. Kris, send home a small slip that tells us what he "worked" on that day. What we see as play often times is work for these little humans we live with because they're working on developing skills. Imagine my surprise when I found out they were doing food tastings from the Toddler Garden, learning how to slice bananas, and working on practical life skills such as self-care. Our son, now 20-months-old will independently carry his bowl or plate to our kitchen sink, throw away garbage and help us sort recyclables, assist with pick up his dirty laundry or put away books, etc. Did I mention this is my same child who wasn't walking independently at 17-months-old, and after one week surrounded by his peers he was doing laps around our kitchen table? He has gained so much independence and confidence in these two short months, and as a parent that makes me more confident than ever about our choice to entrust the staff at DHMC with development. They're not just looking at test scores and assessments, they truly do teach to the "whole child" as advocated by the Montessori curriculum. If you want an authentic Montessori experience, whether your child is a toddler like mine, lower or upper elementary, or middle school, please give them a call and come see why we've fallen in love with this school and plan to continue this journey with them through 8th grade.

In the entire region (15miles perimeter) there is simply NO other schools that are non-religious oriented. For almost $10K/year (latchkey/lunch/etc at additional cost), I'd expect something much better. First, the school building needs renovation. It looks old, it smells old. My daughter uses the Montessori method fior leaning which seems to be working really well with her. Her reading skills at 1st grade was equivalent to 3rd grade... definetely the school methodology has something to do. But the materials are also very old... The staff is nice. What is really disturbing is that there is lots of school fund raising activities going on almost every month! And yet, the school is considered a non-profitable organization... oh well, go figure. Sometimes I actually wonder if the finances are mis-managed, because the gardens and the play area needs serious maintenance... as a matter of fact it is my biggest gripe for this school... it needs a serious face lifting but management is doing who knows what with the money... maybe I'm sponsoring 2 kids with tuiton I pay in full... who knows ...

As a educator…read moremyself I can tell you this place is not centered on helping kids flourish, but a place that wants to maintain an "image" for the rich kids. They dont care to support your child if they are sensitive, they get annoyed and will call you to pick them up. I have 3 other friends where there kids got kicked out because of so called behaviors. This doesnt support kids but only wants perfect kids so they can act like it was them. Dont reccommend this place, and since my daughter is still there, I know first hand how this is.

Majida, Wafaa, Erika, Samia and Nancy are just a few of the wonderful people that have been there to teach him, and help him grow. Before I put my son in daycare, I researched a few in the area. What sold me was the fresh food they serve children everyday, the healthy snacks, the clean facility and the friendly environment. This daycare has went above and beyond my expectations. This isn't just a daycare for us, they have become an extended family to my son and I. So if you're looking for a daycare in the Dearborn area, I strongley recommend Children's Garden.

Wrote a review after my son left here in 2021 and didn't realize that it had been deleted…read more Apparently because I mentioned EMILY'S last name. Btw if you're wondering what Emily I'm referring to in this review, she's the trailer trash looking chick who always colors her hair, wears dingy gym shoes and has a raspy voice. The best thing I did for my child was taking him to a new school. The staff there were so incompetent it was ridiculous. The amount of times I had to make sure my child got his lunch because they had given his lunch to another before. Or I had to call the manager because the staff had sent my child's belongings (WHICH WERE LABLED) home with another child tells you how incompetent they were. The owner Sheryl Westerdale also doesn't take the safety of these children seriously. The last two incidents: My son told me Emily "pulled him really hard on his cot during nap time". Those are my child's words btw. He said he was talking and if you know any better like I do, it sounds like she was annoyed his was talking and forcefully pushed him across the floor. They checked the cameras but claimed they could not see anything because it was dark. Then after, a few days later...I picked up my child from school and he had thumbtacks in his HAT! The explanation that I had gotten was so ridiculous. Apparently, EMILY claims that my son had knocked them over and she cleaned them up. Well, HOW DID THEY GET INSIDE OF HIS BOOK BAG and INSIDE OF HIS HAT?! One time I asked them to make sure my child's shoes were tied so he wouldn't hurt him. Emily tried to get my child kicked out of the center saying I "yelled" at them. How about you do your job and parents won't have to say anything?! Do yourself a favor and send your child somewhere you don't have to worry about them. You'll be happy to avoid the stress.
