Though I'm not a resident here (not yet, at least), I'd like to comment on the wonderful experience I have received thus far.
Dearborn Green is one of the last truly affordable apartment communities in the area - affordable per Goleta standards. As a prior property manager myself, I know the market well and have come to accept that you pay for what you get in this town. There are a few communities in the area with prices as affordable as Dearborn, but none fare close in terms of quality and service. When I first came to check this place out, I was blown away by the quality of the apartments being offered: very clean, upgraded kitchens/bathrooms, nice appliances, a built-in wardrobe, and well-maintained grounds. The apartment homes are small, but could work well for a single person. I didn't feel like I was walking into some rundown, dingy old apartment like I did with the competitors (which shall remain nameless). This is, without a doubt, the best deal in town!
I have met with the office staff on a few occasions to inquire about availability. This property has been 100% occupied for the last few months straight, and it's simple to see why. I have had positive interactions with both Bob and Bonnie, the site managers. Both are very personable, and it's simple to see that they truly care about their residents. This community appears to host a wide demographic of residents, but one thing is clear: this place is very quiet. The landscaping appears to have been recently refreshed, and I didn't see many residents loitering about when walking the premises. I have heard that problem tenants don't last long (as the lease terms are on a month-to-month basis). It's also in a convenient Goleta location near shopping, the freeway, and the university.
If I do become a resident in the future, I will post an updated review. For now, though, I can contest that this is a great, well-operated community. read more
