Today my wife and I had a magnificent and delicious breakfast when Elizabeth Fogo provided us with complimentary vegetarian burritos and orange juice at 7 a.m. The burritos were perfect - and warm!!! This was a magical surprise at Encina Meadows in Goleta - where we are very happy to have recently moved, largely due to Miss Fogo's patient and attentive assistance. Encina Meadows is a large apartment complex. You would think it would take a long time for Management or Maintenance to respond if there was no emergency. Requests are handled in the order received, unless it is an emergency, which I appreciate. Elizabeth Fogo is new here. She is amazing. Very friendly and will help in any way that she can. In this day and age, many people aren't pleasant and gracious as she is. Even though she can be extremely busy, a person would not know it in the way she handles the situation. The attitudes of Jac, Dan and Raoul are also pleasant and wanting to help in any way they possibly can. The Towbes Group must emphasize that their employees be efficient, courteous and helpful. I might have given 5 stars awhileback, but since management changed a couple years ago things have really gone downhill. Current management treats us like an inconvenience. They do not return calls or emails. I came home from work and saw a notice on my front door that they'd done and annual inspection - great but they never told me ahead of time. Totally outrageous. Location is great but these days expect unresponsive management to treat you like dirt. I would not recommend unless management changes. read more

I wish I didn't have to move out of town! I have been so impressed with Towbes Encina Meadows and really appreciate Nadra and her staff. They have helped me out beyond the call of duty on several occasions and are so friendly and easy to work with. Really really awesome experience! I really enjoyed, no, it was more like a privilege, to stay here. I wish I didn't have to move... Facilities like the pool and (hot!) jacuzzi, fitness and laundry rooms were always operational and immaculately clean. The property was beautifully maintained. Another thing that really stood out to me was how quickly issues were attended to and fixed. They really take care of the property. Even the landscapes and parking lots were always clear of rubbish and properly groomed. The first floor unit I rented was really quiet. I never heard any noises from adjoining neighbors and the street noise were only noticeable when I opened the windows or sliding door to the patio. I always felt safe around the parking lot and neighborhood too. The complex was conveniently located (walking distance) near various restaurants, 3+ grocery stores to shop at, and all the other businesses that are off of or on Calle Real and Fairview. It was really nice to be able to walk wherever I needed to go. Also nearby are great schools like Kellogg's and Montessori for little ones. Lastly, the neighbors were all very friendly and amicable. Everyone says "hi" to each other and everyone really seems to enjoy being at Encina Meadows. I'm going to really miss being here. A big thank you to Nadra for making my stay here so memorable. Right now I have lived in Encina Meadows for near half a year, I have to say living experience here is exceptional. Overall, the apartment staff is so friendly and enthusiastic to help, the neighborhood is quiet and this is the perfect place to be. Before living here, I have lived in Sumida Gardens and frankly speaking, if Towbes Group replace Sumida Garden's staff with Encina Meadow's staff, they probably would be more welcome. When I first moved in Encina meadows, there was some ants problem. Only one day after I reported to the rental office, they sent a specialist to deal with our ant problem for free! That was really assuring. The most important thing is the staff here is always eager to hear your problems and solve them as best as they can. I highly recommend this place. read more

Would not recommend renting here. The only good thing about this place were the "discounts" during the pandemic, that's where it stops. The laundry facilities are subpar, the apartments are not properly cleaned prior to tenants moving in, and the staff are deceitful. I was told upon moving in there were new carpets installed, a cleaning crew cleaned the apartment, and there would be AC in the unit. The place was filthy moving in (bugs in the carpet before we moved anything in), there was no AC in the unit, and upon moving out I was told the carpets were not new but in fact 5 years old. I was also told I would not be charged for them changing the carpets, yet I was not refunded my full deposit despite me not leaving any damage. I left the place better than the initial move in conditions, yet management fought me to give me my deposit back claiming I caused damage that existed before I moved in. Attached are photos of when I moved in and the "cleaning" they did as examples of their poor workmanship. Sink and tub reflects that. Using bar keepers friend and a scrubber got rid of the stains, and their cleaning crew were too incompetent to spend a couple minutes to do that. There's better apartments in the area, go elsewhere rather than give your money to this company looking to gouge you any way they can. read more

Two bad experiences with the same company. It is the greatest injustice I have ever received. I lived in Los Angeles and I need to move to Santa Barabara for the next month. We have a search for more than a month. We applied on Patterson Place with this company the Towbes Group. We was approved, but the apartments are too small. (On Patterson Place We had bad experience . They wanted to charge us a deposit without first showing me the apartment. When we saw the apartment was very small.2*1.) .........Soo on Sunday I received the news Encina had an apartment available!!! On Monday we called : I say: I am going to rent the apartment. We have an application approved by your company. what do we have to do? We have to reapply? The information they have is enough? They said: We are going to take the information and we will call you back. We waited for that day and never called. The next day (Tuesday) we tried to call on several occasions and never answered. Today (Wednesday) call them and said that the apartment was already rentedand how are they going to rent an apartment that is supposed to have been rented by me ??? I am very sad and angry....... read more

Very nice apartments! The office staff are very accommodating, friendly, and very easy to communicate with. Nadra, Greg, and Michelle were very helpful and made the moving process very smooth. If something needed to be fixed, the maintenance staff were there immediately. The apartment was very clean, and there was a welcoming package in the kitchen to help during the move in! The location is very convenient close to shopping and restaurants and yet it is a very quiet community. read more

Not smoke-free as advertised. You can smoke here as long as your neighbors don't complain, but even if they do, management doesn't do anything about it. Neighbors can get very noisy with parties, but management isn't around at night, so anything goes. read more

My husband and I lived in Encina Meadows for one year and we loved every moment of being here. We are moving when our lease expires ONLY to be closer for my job. We moved to the area from Seattle and the whole staff was helpful, knowledgeable and went the extra step during our application process even though we were 2 states away. While we lived there, everything worked great. If there was a maintenance request, they were there the same day or the next day. We rarely ever hear noise from our neighbors. The pool, clubhouse and gym are clean, easy to access and convenient. The parking is well lit and clean. I've walked the parking lot at night with headphones in and never felt in danger. The apartments are just that, apartments. So there may be spots on the carpets or on the walls because well, it's been lived in, but it does not feel dirty or unkempt. I'd highly recommend Encina Meadows to anyone looking for a nice, clean place to call home. People smile and say hello when you pass them on walkways. We're very sad to leave the apartment, Nadra (the manager) and her whole team. It's been a fantastic experience! read more

Firstly let me start out by stating that I have not been a resident here and this review is based solely on the experience of trying to set up a tenant application in person. The staff is very friendly which one may find is not uncommon in Santa Barbara, but I wish (at least on the occasion that I visited) that they had been a bit more organized. We were looking to relocate from San Diego to Santa Barbara and found Encina Meadows to be a part of the Towbes Group of apartment complexes (which range from Lompoc & Santa Ynez, Goleta, Santa Barbara and down to Ventura). They are located right in the heart of Goleta within walking distance to banks, grocery, movies, etc. and the units are spacious (for Santa Barbara standards). I had called the office (in the very late afternoon about 1/2 hour before they closed) asking if they had any openings for 1 bedroom places and was informed that they had 2 units available immediately. I gave them all my contact info and basic info to start an application and told them that I would be driving up from San Diego the very next morning to sign the papers, pay any fees, etc. and asked them to please call/txt me if anything came up as it would be drive of 230 miles (1 way) just to get there. I arrived at the management office at 8:30 (30 minutes before they opened/or accepted calls) the next morning. To my dismay when I sat down for my appointment at 9 am the leasing agent told me that both apartments had already been rented and that there was no availability for any rentals at that location. UGH!!! I confirmed with the agent if they had my contact info and message and she indeed had everything. Ok, I'm a Santa Barbara native (born & raised) and I know that rentals can go fast, but it would have been nice (and professionally courteous) to have at least called me to let me know. Frankly I believe that the original info that I was given the day before was incorrect and that the two units had already been rented, but they just wanted to get back up applications just in case the original applicants failed to meet the reqs or decided to back out. Buyer beware! PS. I would apply for an apartment here again, however disappointing the previous experience was. read more

We lived here for four months and felt very much at home. The management team is professional, responsive, and friendly. The grounds are beautifully maintained as is the pool area and hot tub. Any problems are handled promptly and effectively by the maintenance staff. The housekeepers keep the area and the laundry room clean and attractive. All in all, living there is safe, easy, and comfortable. read more

I had the privilege of living at Encina Meadows Apartments for 5 1/2 years, and for me, it was a home in every respect. I always felt safe, protected, and taken care of by the friendly, caring staff. Both the management and maintenance staff did an exceptional job of being attentive, professional, knowledgeable and courteous. Maintenance order requests were fulfilled promptly and expertly. I've really enjoyed the convenience of being a short walking distance from grocery stores, drug stores, restaurants/eateries, movie theaters and various great small shops. The apartments are located in a really nice area to walk around in! The fitness center is great with a variety of fitness equipment and very clean and well-maintained. The parking lot is well-lighted and safe. It's truly been a lovely home for me, and as I now relocate out of the area, I will always remember how wonderful it was living here with the excellent staff and nice, friendly community. My husband and I are happy living in Encina Meadows. There are so many things to appreciate about living here. We love the convenient location to the Calle Real Shopping Center and Goleta Library; the well-maintained apartment units and landscape; its quiet neighborhood; the amenities such as the laundry, gym, spa, and swimming pool; and my one bedroom apartment is clean and spacious and has appliances that work! In addition, we appreciate the welcoming atmosphere at the management office. The friendly, personable office staff knows our names and is quick to handle concerns and then follows up with an email. I rated this apartment complex 4 stars only because the slatted window blinds don't offer much privacy for someone who lives on the first floor. I've had to hang some sheer drapes so I could open the bedroom blinds during the day. I've noticed that my neighbors completely covered their windows with heavier material. Overall, we are very pleased with Encinas Meadows in contrast to other apartment complexes! read more

I have an adult friend with mild special needs who has resided at Encina Meadows for 25 yrs. in a two bedroom apt. When she decided to move to a one bdrm the Encina Meadows manager, Nadra, and the asst. manager, Kellie, went beyond their call of duty to help my friend move. The one bdrm had two accent painted walls, they were so kind to show the apt to my friend before she moved in to see if she liked the walls or wanted them painted white. Closing out her old contract was so easy and Nadra & Kellie were extremely organized with the required paper work for the new apt. My friend is thrilled with her new apt. which has amazing landscaping right outside her front door. The apt. was so clean when she moved in. Nadra and Kellie made the move so easy and smooth! read more
