    LL Flooring - Broussard

We received an email from LL Flooring asking us to place a review on Yelp, whether positive or…read morenegative. So we'll comply with LL Flooring's request and place this review online. We purchased 1,200 square feet of wood from LL Flooring in the fall of 2022 and contracted with LL Flooring for its contractor to float the wood over our concrete slab. However, we discovered that a vast majority of the pieces had some bowing, and about half of them had very significant bowing. We talked at length with the store manager, who claimed this was normal. It was only when we called the Customer Care Center that we were told that we should expect the flooring to be flat with no bowing (and certainly should not expect that half the pieces would be significantly bowed). It became clear from our conversations with the store manager that his concern was whether the floor would actually come apart (or "fail," in his words). He was not concerned with the fact that the bowing would cause the floor to visibly deflect when walked upon, which would also lead to an unpleasant hollow echoing. He also made clear that LL Flooring would not consider this a warranty issue that they needed to fix if we were dissatisfied after installation. Based on the discussion with the Customer Care Center, we returned the first batch and ordered a second batch. That batch came in (albeit taking twice as long as LL Flooring had indicated it would) and we rescheduled the installation. The contractor stopped shortly after beginning, stating that in his 17 years of doing this sort of work, he'd never seen wood so bowed. He stated, "it's smiling at me," referring to its curvature. He stated that the bowing was causing the ends to lift up from the floor, meaning that the wood was visibly moving up and down when someone walked on it. He indicated that this is not normal, and like the Customer Care Center told us, that we should expect the wood we buy to be flat. Because we had considered gluing the wood down, we asked the contractor if that would be an option with this batch. He indicated that he would not suggest that because the ends of the bowed pieces would not make contact with the glue, and the glue would dry without contacting the wood in those places. We'd "have a big mess on our hands," he said. So now months have gone by, and we again have a defective batch of wood that we have to return. We've twice had to move all the furniture and appliances out of almost 1,200 square feet of living space, and then had to move it back in without the project having been completed. And now we will have to haul 1,200 square feet of wood back to LL Flooring - again. We're very disappointed and dissatisfied, putting it mildly.

I live in Baton Rouge but found a laminate that was on sale. The problem was, the quantity I need…read morerequired going to the BR store, Broussard and Slidell. Once I got to Broussard, I found a similar style I actually liked better. It was discontinued but a third less expensive and they had twice as much as I needed on hand. Harrison and Blake refunded my money, took possession of the eight boxes I had already picked up in Baton Rouge and saved me a trip to Slidell the next day. And the money I saved paid for the vapor barrier and padding. I'd called the previous day to verify they had what I'd originally wanted in stock. Harrison was with a customer at the time but said I could hold or he'd call me back. I got my merchandise loaded up and all was 'right with the world'. The guys were great!
