Had my dog neutered and anal sac cleaned.Iwas told to come back in 2 weeks to have staples removed…read moreand anal check at no charge.When we went back they took dog in back for no more than 5 minutes,The girl brought my dog back in and said Dr Saussen would be in in a few min.She came in and said everything wass ok.When I went to leave,I was given a bill for $102.00.I SAID IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE AT NO CHARGE.They told me the staple removal was free but they done a medical progress examination and anal recheck and it was $102.00.I was not told of this before it was done.How could they do all this in 5 min.They also charged me $20.00 more to recheck anal sac than they charged to do the procedure.They did reduce the bill the $20.00,as they said they haave raaised there prices since I had it done.T his is the reason people can"t keep their pets. I feel that Ishould of told of charge before it was done,I also don't think all of this could be done in 5 min.

When I went back for the checkup, again I was overcharged and was prescribed the same medication that wasn't effective the first time. I had to take my dog to an animal clinic to get the ear infection cleared up, spending a total of over $1300. I have since changed Vets, and was charged less than $100 for a new visit with two vaccines. My advice is, make good choices and ask questions, even if you trusted them in the past.

I believe he'll be fine, but my wife was worried because she read on the internet that it could be toxic to our pup. So I told her to call and ask a vet. She called Banfield. They was no help whatsoever. Because they aren't our current vet they didn't have a care in the world about our pup. They did give my wife the number to animal poison control which immediately stated our question would cost us $60. They had an opportunity to gain a loyal customer. I have 3 dogs and 2 cats, all in need of a new vet, but their inability to communicate and their lack of empathy earned them this rating. I don't know if it's just this area, but this is the second vet I've had similar issues with? Just to be clear I would have, and could have paid for an office visit.
