Good selection with reasonable prices. Also, a large quantity of new issues in the first few bins. Definitely worth a visit. Plus, Caroline behind the counter is helpful and super friendly.

When visiting Cherokee Street I love stopping in to check out what's new at Dead Wax. It's a small record store, but it has a whole lot of heart. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and always happy to talk about music. Aside from the vinyl for sale, they also have some old cassette tapes along the back wall. Always fun to peruse!

Such a cool ass collection of vintage records in a small and cute shop! They had a cool logo and shirts in all sizes! The owner was so hip!!! He gave us shopping and food advice, and told us which areas to stay away from! Love this vinyl shop!

The guy behind the counter is a fount of knowledge. You'd do yourself a disservice not talking to him. Too bad I already grabbed the copy of Arthur or the Decline and Fall of the British Empire. Still, loads of solid cuts. Be there now.

Not only did they have it available but it was priced well too. The staff was very friendly and this place is huge. Highly likely that whatever you are looking for, they'll have it here. My only issue would be parking. I was lucky to find a spot in front but usually it's busy in the loop so get make sure you are good with walking. Still a great location with all the other shops around. I will definitely return as my kids are into vinyl records now and would like a few of their own.

I like that they have a discount section of new/sealed titles at very affordable prices as well as used/trade in at similarly fair prices. Even their brand new sealed vinyl is fairly priced compared to a lot of stores in particular. Really had a blast picking up a stack of records and chatting with the staff, will come back any time I'm in St.L.

Various animal-related pieces (as in taxidermy and fur, not as in ceramic Persian cats). Staff left me alone to shop the 2... 3? 4? rooms. These rooms are pretty full. Give yourself some time and consider leaving with a sitter any little kids who would touch and break things. Minus one star because I filled out the "buying" form on the website. I had some items I wanted to see whether they'd be interested in. No one contacted me. It's fine if my stuff isn't of the type or quality that goes in your store, but I'm clearing out a late family member's possessions and I took some time to upload photos share with The Brass Alligator, and even a "thanks, but no thanks" would have been nice. Not a big deal.

Worst estate sale experience I've had…read more The first day was overcrowded to the point of being uncomfortable -- way too many people packed inside with no control. The second day, they had people standing outside for over an hour with no communication or sense of urgency. Pricing was completely out of touch. Charging $1 per stem for tiny Dollar Tree florals (not even a bouquet) is honestly absurd. What really pushed this into unacceptable territory was the pricing on half-price day. I was quoted $900 for about half a car full. After checking the tags myself, it should have been closer to $400 -- or around $200 with the discount. That kind of discrepancy is not a small mistake. Between the lack of organization, long waits, and questionable pricing, this felt like a very poorly run sale at best -- and misleading at worst. I won't be back.

The record store portion of the business featured a very good selection of alphabetically- sorted used rock vinyl, including many import pressings ... as well as a few new LPs (including recent RSD releases). Budget-priced discs were in crates below and behind the primary inventory. They also had some jazz, blues, folk/country, and a few classical records. They even had two different releases by my favorite 60's band, Moby Grape!! While the records alone would have brought me back to this store, fully half of their location is dedicated to high-end hi-fi equipment: turntabless, CD players, amp, speakers, etc. I have been wanted to rebuild my home audio for over 30 years ... but after several major geographic relocations, I no longer knew where to start. Well folks, this is it! Mike, the owner, is extremely knowledgable in all matters stereo - and will demo different set-ups at your request. Very high end, audiophile equipment. There's more stuff to explore, but please trust me, it's a great store. The good old days for a record collector like me. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

I can only imagine that they go through their bins a few times a week to assure this and I very much appreciate it! Their jazz section upstairs seems to be enormous, and look up on the walls- their more valuable "wall albums" are scattered throughout both floors. A $5 record bin in the back of the first floor offers some great classic rock (even some 60's era Rolling Stones!) at a budget-conscious price. This is great for folks just getting into vinyl and wanting to explore some rock history.

However, selling records to them, I would not recommend as they only give you a quarter (less than half) of what they sell for. Things they could improve on would probably be customer service, a lot of the workers seem like they don't want to be there and just have pretty poor attitudes, very nose up kind of people sometimes depending on who's there. There is this one girl, who I'm not sure has a soul behind her eyes because she always has a look on her face that just says "i'm kind of a c-u-n-t, & and I don't wanna be here" Bring back the old stickers
