    Pollo ala avocado. So good!
    Jocelyn G.

Great food! I had the spaghetti and I was not disappointed. The pasta was perfectly cooked, not too soft or tough. My friend had the chicken covered in a creamy sauce with avocado. Amazing! Would definitely come back here. Also, the hours are listed wrong on here. They actually didn't open until 5pm on a Tuesday afternoon. Just FYI

I went too De Niro's with a girlfriend for some wine, a chat and some cheap lunch. I remember saying to her we need to go to the stables there is this Italian place that does affordable lunches. We walked into the stables and what do I see, a $12 lunch sign for pasta and pizza and that was it for me, I was sorted! I ordered the chicken fettuccine and was prepared for a creamy, flavour some dish with plenty of mushroom and topped with cheese. That is what I got apart from the flavour element. I wish they had put more salt or pepper into the mixture but then again I love my food with a bit more pepper than the average person. Other than that the Italian wine was amazing and I just added the pepper myself

Having been blessed with a mother who cooks amazing Italian dishes, I don't really see the point in doing Italian when I head out, as there really is no comparison but as this particular evening was a group night out, I had to compromise for the sake of their being no heated arguments. I ordered the spaghetti bolognaise and was pleasantly surprised, it was almost as good as my own mothers but with subtle differences. The pasta was al dente and the sauce was intense and fire engine red. Not much seasoning going on but I prefer to do that myself anyway. A couple of others ordered pizzas and were happy while the most unadventurous just had a bowl of chips which came out piping hot and which he claimed were close to perfection.

Seafood Risotto. Had Prawns, shrimp and calamari.

The Vegan Real Falafel Dish was nice, with lots of salads (diced cucumbers, tomatoes, and greens) stuffed into pita bread with a generous amount of falafels. It came with homemade hummus and this interesting green dip that is apparently from Yemen and was super-spicy! (Mr. Google tells me this dip is called "zhug" and is made out of cilantro, parsley, and hot peppers.) The falafel balls had a nice flavour, but they tasted a little too greasy and oily for my liking. Falafels are a tricky thing and everyone has their own preference -- to me, these were just a little too deep-fried and crunchy (I prefer softer, less oily falafels). But they were still nice. My dad had the "Brick Lane Salt Beef Sandwich" (pastrami, kosher pickles and mustard) and complained that the meat was still way too salty for his liking, in spite of the name. I don't think any of us have ever had Israeli food before, so maybe that explains it? The atmosphere of the place was cool, with interesting art and tapestries on the walls, and curtains dividing up the space. The service wasn't great. We arrived at the beginning of the lunch hour (11:45am) and several other tables were approached and served before us even though we had arrived first. They were also very slow to bring us the bill. The table itself was rickety and kept swinging every time we moved. Almost made me knock over my water glass -- should really be fixed. All in all, I won't hurry back although my dish was interesting and not bad for a unique dining experience.

It was a fantastic lunch, thanks to the lovely food, cocktails, ambience and service. Bodrum Market is run by one of my favourite hospitality companies - Nazar Group. Founded by Alex Isik and Nigar Ivgen, they own restaurants all over Auckland, including Feriza's, Miss Istanbul, Ottoman Mezze Lounge, NOA Chargrill + Burger, Devon on the Wharf, Mozaik Caffe, Deco Eatery, Casablanca and Bodrum Kitchen. All of their restaurants bring a slice of the Mediterranean to the table - featuring Turkish, Greek, Moroccan and Middle Eastern dishes... so we were really excited to check it out! Walking in, we absolutely loved the interior of Bodrum Market, which is inspired by Istanbul's Grand Bazaar and the streets of Bodrum City. While I have not yet been to Istanbul (it is on the list!), I immediately felt transported to an exotic city! We were seated in one of their booths, which overlooks the dining area and bar. If you dine at Bodrum Market, you must order a cocktail! We tried three which were all refreshing and delicious. My top picks are the Bombay Masala Talkies - Gin infused with masala tea, butterfly pea flower syrup, lemon juice and Mediterranean tonic water; the Sultan Treat with Russian vodka, rose petal water, fresh pomegranate, lime juice and pomegranate molasses; and the Aam Pana Cooler with Tequila, orange liqueur, raw mango puree, roasted cumin powder, lemon juice and lemonade. (Seriously, typing this now makes my mouth water!!!) And now for the most important part, the food! Bodrum Market is offering diners an authentic experience by serving four different cuisines - Indian, Italian, Turkish and Latin American Asado, just like the traditional food markets of the Mediterranean. Their aim is to showcase unique flavours from each of their teams' homelands. We were lucky enough to get a sneak peak through their kitchen and admired their Wood-Fired Pizza Oven, Asado Grill and Doner Kebab machine. There are many options on the menu to suit a range of palates, and I recommend sharing if possible so you can try a few dishes. We trusted the team to bring us a few of their favourites from each of the four cuisines to try, including Olives and Feta with almonds and dates, Chicken Lollipops with chili sauce, Grilled Octopus with new potatoes, paprika butter, garlic aioli and parsley, Beef Short Ribs with Chimichurri sauce and Prosciutto Pizza with fresh rocket, cherry tomatoes, mozzarella and Parmesan. We loved that everything was super fresh, flavourful and tasty, plus every dish was full of colour. Our favourites were the Beef Short Rib - lathered in a beautiful Chimichurri sauce and the meat was melting off the bone! The Chicken Lollipops were also a highlight, and we surprisingly enjoyed the Grilled Octopus... must admit those tentacles freaked us out a bit! For dessert, we tried their Loukoumades - light and fluffy Greek honey puffs, drizzled in chocolate sauce and served with pink fairy floss, ice cream and pistachios. You will definitely want to save room for this dessert! For a further sweet treat, head outside to the entrance of Bodrum Market to admire the displays of Baklava, Chocolate Baklava and Turkish Delight - definitely recommend buying a few pieces for the ride home. Thank you Bodrum Market for a FAB dining experience - we cannot wait to come back! x

We decided to try this lovely place, i don't think this place has been here long but it seems really busy in terms of takeout. I guess everyone loves a good kebab !! But let's talk about the food, which is what we're here for !! Two things we got, the chicken shish (large) and a little share platter (chicken and beef)- I'm horrible with name so you're going to have to go by my description and photo ! Lols So firstly the chicken shish, the large platter comes with the chicken, rice, hummus, yoghurt with an olive on top. Flavor I will have to say 3/5 it was nice but I felt that it was lacking that kick or punch. Whilst I don't know how real Turkish food taste... I feel like they like their flavors so I feel like the chicken should have a bit more kick in them. The rice was light and fluffy!! The hummus was really nice to have with the chicken and the little green thing on the side (again I AM SORRY !! I am horrible with names!!). Next the platter! It comes with beef and chicken shavings (well that's what I call them cause they gotta shave the meat whilst it goes around and around and around ) The platter comes with Turkish bread, olives, humus and yoghurt like dip and salad. I may have forgotten a few things but that's what's the picture is for !! Lols, overall the platter was like an average platter you would get (i.e. Cheese platter) Overall the place isn't too bad for a kebab stop or for a little Shish or even dessert ! Even though I haven't tried it lols. But with the total bill being nearly 50$ it's a little disappointing! But hey that's my say, I still think y'all should give it a try !! Peace !!

The servings are big, the prices are low, and there is a shop at the back where you can stock up on baklava, dolmades and other Middle Eastern delights. There are a few tables available inside, and a couple outside in a small sectioned area overlooking Dominion Rd for those who can't wait to dig into their kebab.
