I stopped by Taqueria Jaliscience Baes for a casual meal and left impressed. The food came out hot,…read morethe portions were generous, and everything tasted fresh and well-seasoned. The tacos were packed with flavor, and the homemade salsas added the perfect kick. The staff was welcoming, and the service was quick without feeling rushed. It's the kind of local spot that's easy to come back to whenever you're craving authentic Mexican food. I'll definitely be returning to try more of the menu.

The atmosphere was cozy…read moreand homey, and our waitress was welcoming and friendly -- that part was a solid experience. Now, the food is where things got a little complicated. We stuck strictly to tacos, and honestly, it was hit or miss depending on your taste. I ordered the pastor and chorizo. The pastor had decent flavor but could have been juicier. The chorizo was a letdown for me -- it had a pasty consistency, almost like refried beans, and was heavy on potatoes, which wasn't what I was hoping for. I also tried a hard shell pastor supreme, expecting an authentic house-fried tortilla, but it reminded me more of what you'd get at Taco Bell. My husband went with carne asada, chicharrón, and chicken. The carne asada was juicy but the flavor just didn't hit the way I expected. The chicken was good but came shredded. The chicharrón had solid flavor -- I just personally struggle with the texture, though that one's on me since I knew going in! One thing all the tacos had in common: the meat portions felt too small for the size of the tortillas. Personally, I wouldn't classify this as truly authentic Mexican, but that's just my palate. My husband, on the other hand, loved everything -- so clearly taste is subjective! Don't just take my word for it. Give this place a try yourself and form your own opinion. It may not have been for me, but it just might be for you!
