I should've trusted the other reviews before going here. We dropped off 5 articles of clothing for dry cleaning on a Saturday. They told us it would be ready by Thursday at 6:15pm and even printed that on the receipt. We come back the following Saturday (2 days after the day it was supposed to be done) and they said our clothes had not been taken care of yet and we would need to wait additional time. extremely unprofessional business practices. I saw another review that said this place smelled of animal urine and its 100% true. I walked in and was immediately met with the strongest smell of disgusting urine that hits your nose before you even fully walk in. 100% DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. Unhygienic, unprofessional, and a complete waste of our time. They were also charging us 115 dollars for dry cleaning of 5 articles of clothing, one of the items did have beading work but this is still an outrageous price for 5 articles of clothing. Im so pissed, one of the articles was soiled with my own cats urine and i brought it in immediately so it would not set and i told them this. the fact that it was sitting in their shop and basically letting my clothes sit in that for a week is completely unacceptable read more

I was driving down the street and I had three dresses in my car that needed some alterations so I thought wow this looks like a cool little spot so I pulled into like like it used to be an old drive-through of some kind and after waiting for a while, they have the same stress come and look at my stuff well... They wanted to charge me 50 bucks to replace the elastic in the arms of dress and we're not talking intricate it's just elastic and you know the dress originally was probably about $300 but I got it on sale for like 25 so now I'm not gonna pay that much... Same for the other two dresses they were extremely outrageously expensive. I'm sure I can get all three of them done for under $40 somewhere so if you're looking for a good value, I'd say keep on looking. read more

DIRTY SERVICE -- Difficult review to write: tw sexual assault Went in late in the day last month to get some pants taken in. Immediately the tailor (I'm assuming the owner, I've only ever been seen by him) was overly friendly and he wiggled the jeans and bounced/smacked my butt in awe, which already set me off but I figured it was something he needed to get out of his system. He flipped me around and then said "I like your bra" and started massaging my breasts through my shirt. Fortunately it was the last set of pants, I needed them quickly so I just bolted and freaked once I got home. It's really late to press charges (I'm still looking into it, it's difficult to find proof) but I needed to warn y'all. read more

Used to love this local business, followed them here from their original Overland location. Erwin the owner had left me in tears after gas lighting me, started with "hey hey friend, what's the problem?" while looking at the exact issue (a big crooked bulge on my side) his son acknowledged the night before when I originally went to pick my dress up. When I pointed to the messed up side in the mirror, he got belligerent, raising his voice, yelling over and over "I didn't do that! I DON'T CARE! NONO NO, I DON'T CARE!", that he didn't touch it where it was bulging and uneven, and that he won't undo what he had done. I tried to calm him down and reason with him, so that he can SEE what I was talking about and expressed how disappointed I was. He then said that he would fix it for another $65 and then bragged that it was an easy fix for him. DO NOT GO TO THEM for anything that you care about- they're not technically adequate for more than a simple hemming job. WORST EXPERIENCE- I have not seen a grown man throw a tantrum in a place of business like that. I left horrified and sad. I ended up taking my dress to someone else near my house who fixed it for me on the same day for $18. read more

I've been reluctantly coming here the last two years as it's close to my place and every time I do, I regret it. They can never find my items despite bringing a claim ticket. Each trip should be 5 minutes and usually lasts. I recently dropped off a white sheet to get stitched and it came back with all this dirt and muck on it. Dishonest unethical experience worst -ever do not use these people. This was undoubtedly the worst experience with a tailor in my 77 years. I brought them an unlined suit to have the skirt hemmed and the sleeve shortened. Very, very easy hemming job. The guy who helped me I had the sense didn't know how to pin a garment - he put three pins in. They were not even but I wasn't being too particular about the exact length because it's a midi. Other taylor's I've used before I moved to LA recently always used a chalk spray mounted on a yardstick to mark length exactly. This was highly unprofessional. Nobody's really spoke English so I had to fill out my pick up slip and the guy wrote in one two little zeros . Which I assume was one dollar as a placeholder for when I'd actually pick up the suit later. My fault for not pressing them on the price, but I felt this wasn't the tailor and they needed to consult him When my husband went to pick up the suit, they wanted to charge $100 for the simple hem!! We argued on the phone and I told my husband to just leave the soup behind. I paid less for the suit new. Subsequent to the phone call apparently they lowered the price to $65 and my husband who felt bad picked up the suit and brought it home . I'm not entirely sure they actually have the skirt it seems to be about the same length. But it did have a stain on it now, but high enough up that I could cover it however, the suit jacket has a grease stain now on the color pretty high up that's hard not to see (Photo attached.). This was a brand new suit that had always been in plastic and was in perfect condition when I brought it in and now has two very clear grease stains. one right on collar very noticeable . This is a highly unprofessional Taylor and cleaner. I plan to report them to the BBB as well. My advice stay away. Post note: on day of my so sons ceremony, I put on the skirt to find - IT WASNT SHORTENED! Only the jacket sleeves. This was a most dreadful experience!!! read more

I really would warn others from going here for alterations. They tried charging me $100 for a simple dress hem. This was not an extravagant dress with special fabric or detailing, and there was only one layer. It felt way too overpriced for what it was so I said no and went somewhere else and they quoted me $50. I couldnt believe They tried to charge me double that. felt very scammy. Javier is a fantastic tailor. They do impeccable work, conveniently located with ample parking in their private parking lot. Javier is always so friendly and a perfectionist at providing excellent tailoring with fair prices ($20 men's pant hem). I would suggest letting them know if you are in a rush, as they seemingly have a lot of customers and projects, and I've had situations where I may need something in a hurry. They actually introduced a hole into the hem of a pair of jeans I had hemmed, and when I went to have a vintage designer dress altered today, the guy pinned me into it in a way that made it impossible to get out of... and then went upstairs. I waited for him to come back down so I could explain that the proposed alterations would need to be adjusted a bit so, you know, I could actually get the dress on and off. And I kept waiting. And waiting. Took it as a sign to take my stuff somewhere where they're actually paying attention to what they're doing. read more

I'm coming out of Yelp retirement for this one. I had a tuxedo shirt that needed the button holes to be narrowed to accommodate skinny studs. Simple assignment. One bar tack per button hole. The buttons in the tuxedo shirt are removable and stitched to a piece of fabric to keep them together. The guy who took my shirt said they didn't need my studs to narrow the holes and they could do it off measurement alone. I was quoted $20. When I came back a week later, the holes were still too large, they had lost the removable buttons, and the shirt was covered in black dirt on the collar, cuffs, and placket. They told me I never brought them buttons and it wasn't their fault which I argued and after a few minutes of searching they found them stuffed into a drawer. They tried to push me off another week while they fixed it and dry cleaned but I needed it sooner so they agreed to launder the shirt, find the buttons, and fix the holes. They asked me to pay for the work at this time, $20. I came back the next day and the shirt was laundered but had a HEAVY chemical scent that I still can't get out after several washings now. The buttons still weren't closed enough for the studs and at this point I just wanted to leave since clearly they were not able to do the work. They told me I never paid and owed them another $20. I pulled out my receipt and they hemmed and hawed but eventually agreed that I'd paid for the work. There are hundreds of tailors in Los Angeles. Don't waste your time and money on these jokers like I did. read more

I recently purchased a dress on Poshmark and it needed a little bit of altering. My boyfriend has been going to De Leon tailoring for about a year and a half and everything that he has altered has come out excellent. And he is the most critical person to please. He has an eye for detail and doesn't let it go. I dropped off my dress and Javier placed the pins where it needed to be altered and the dress came out fantastically. Javier is the go-to guy for any kind of alterations for your garments. He's laid back but super professional. Was it the cheapest? No. Was it done right the first time? Absolutely yes. I needed my two Lululemon pants tapered, and I was measured quickly when I got there on a Sunday. I was told to pick up Thursday by 5 PM, but I had to go Friday instead. When I came to pick them up, it was as if they had to scavenger hunt for my pants, but they were finally found. The work was seamless and they both fit perfectly the way I wanted. I rarely write reviews however sadly felt the need to do so. Like many, I had began going back to the office and needed three brand new suits tailored. So being new to the neighborhood, I decided to give them a go. After a consultation and $430 later, we are good to go. It took three different visits over a month to get everything correct and they tried their best to be accommodating with some suits that probably were a little too tight to begin with, so I appreciated the effort. Fast forward to a month later, one of the pants seams began to came undone. Having waited a month for these, I decided to go to another tailor. The tailor said to me "who did this, they should have never done this work. Why did they do this? Terrible. They also did it wrong!". After getting an earful she did take care of it. Fast forward a week later, another jacket that was not tight at all began to unravel at the seam. Simply put the work was not that great. Expensive, slow, and sloppy. I've been going here for a year but that stops immediately. This past week an older man assisted (possibly the owner). I needed a pair of pants tailored. I can out with the pants and he put his hands up the back of my shirt and said "what's this? Oh it's your bra." There was virtually no need to put your hands up my shirt when I'm getting pants tailored. He asked why I was thin and I said bc I lost weight from having a baby. He said I looked great and couldn't tell I had a baby then tried to lift of the front of my shirt to see my stomach. I held onto my shirt so he couldn't pull it up. I stood there in absolute shock and disgust. reading these reviews it appears he has done this to several women and yet is still there. do not support this grimey man. read more

I really debated on posting this, but I feel like people should know about the quality of altercations you get from here. I went to this place based on the reviews and it being close to my gym. I took two dresses that required several alterations to make it fit, and the price ended up being $90 (which I thought was pretty high). Fast forward a week, I get my two dresses back. One has a hole in the waist that wasn't sewn up. The other had excess fabric in the shoulder that made it bunch. It was not a $90 job at all. I took them back to get fixed, and they were nice about fixing them but didn't even apologize for the shoddy work. Because I needed a dress for an event the next day & ran into multiple issues. 1) My dress (Calvin Klein designer) is layered but everything is attached. I was quoted one price ($9 which I was told is half price usual what?) When I handed the garment over. After it was received by the gentleman there (hmm did you see it was designer & change your mind or is that just a coincidence?) I was then told it would be an additional $6 because of the garment. Interesting. It looks like I wasn't actually going to "save" any money after all but maybe you got thirsty after seeing the label? That's curious. One note- they also said there was no difference in rush charge vs a normal one. Ok so expect them to be majorly overpriced all of the time then! 2)I was initially told that garments go out in the morning & return later in the day. Then when I said that if I found anywhere else which would be able to get it done actual same day or before I needed to attend an event I planned on wearing it to if they'd refund me. Suddenly the story changed. They claimed the garment was going back right away. Right. I called them out & then got my refund. I might not have that dress for my event tomorrow which sucks royally but it wasn't going to be ready according to them anyway (they said at earliest after 6 when my intended event is cross town starting shortly after) so... yeah.
