I've said it before and I'll say it again, Dublin never fails to surprise me…read more How else could I describe the little touch of glam Samia's lends to Mary Street little? An unlikely haven for fashion sets and ornate Bollywood blingers, this beacon of the side street far outshines all of its neighbours (even you, Stripper Clothes Shop). And, as it's part of the same company running the excellent Asian grocery across the street, I'm quite confident this shop is as equally thought out and well maintained as it's big brother. I've window shopped here many times, loving the look of those candy-bright wedding necklaces and earrings glittering in the window. Inside there's a heavenly selection of ultra-bright beaded saris, choli, encrusted heels and matching bags. It's a window of sunshine, to be certain. The stuff in here is certainly not every day wear, and some of the colours are not for the faint of heart, but it's most definitely worth at least a look-in just for the whiff of incredible Asian fashion.

They've got all the items you need to complete your outfit, wedding dresses, jewellery for the bride and for the guests, bangles galore, bags and footwear! So many shiny things so little time!! If you don't have a wedding to attend there's still plenty of stuff you can wear to add a bit of edge to your wardrobe. They also do henna, and have tons and tons of designs, so if you fancy a tattoo, but don't want it to last forever this is perfect for you.

Love love love this place. It's great for anything accessory-wise (the name is so misleading,…read moreright??!). So we're talking hats, bags, purses, jewellery, flip flops, head pieces etc. I find it particularly great if I'm going to a wedding or the races. I buy an outfit, head to accessorize, and customize it with some pretty bangles r maybe a brooch. It's also a great way to transform an old outfit you have in the back of your wardrobe without spending a fortune!

Just as I wish I could buy every single thing in Monsoon, so I wish I could buy every single thing…read morein this place, Monsoon's shop dedicated to accessories. The jewelry, purses, hair accessories, hats, umbrellas and more are all really young, fun and pretty. There is a hefty dose of glitz here, but everything manages to avoid straying over the edge to cheesy and tacky. I find the necklaces especially nice, having fallen in love with a pretty bauble with a teeny bird in a tiny cage. Winter weather gear like scarves, hats and gloves are very, very adorable and would be a great way to keep things fashionable when you're otherwise bundled up. Upstairs they sell adorable clothes for babies and kids. The highlight is definitely the frilly, foofy fancy stuff, probably designed for flower girls in wedding parties. The only downside is that I think everything is too expensive. While the stuff is cute, I don't think it's quality enough to demand the attached prices.

I really love the SeSi façade; the building is a pretty light pink with a pretty dancing figure…read morebetween the Se and the Si. On top of that, my first time round I saw a sign out front saying "Vintage!" so I rushed right in. Turns out, this building houses a few other shops (such as the vintage shop downstairs and Café Irie, both well worth a visit) and SeSi was only the shop on the first floor that sells new garments. Even though I was ready to go vintage-crazy, I wasn't disappointed. The clothes are SeSi are feminine, pretty and a little different than what you'll find on the high street. I do agree that some of it feels a bit Mass Produced in China but it's still cute, so I have a hard time caring that much. Also, the prices are pretty good, and you could easily manage to create an outfit here that looks like it cost a lot more, if you're into that kind of thing. They have some darling shoes and accessories too, which are also cute, girly and affordable.

However, the shop Sesi on Fownes Street stands out from the rest because it sells original women's clothing and accessories. The tiny boutique has a lot of hidden treasures so give yourself some time to look through all the racks and counter tops. Some of the great merchandise I saw today included some cheap vintage clutches, pretty colourful bowties for your hair and some funky black and orange platforms. It's also a good place to buy jewellery, especially dangling earrings. Some are made out of glass, others string and there's a collection of tacky Hello Kitty ones. If you're in the mood for something different, Sesi is a good place to start.

Graham's is an excellent and awesome shoe store for a couple of reasons…read more 1. The price point of every pair is not ridiculously high 2. The selection is offbeat and fun 3. The staff is fun 4. There are always lots of shoes on sale, especially between seasons Selling a range of casual sneaks, edgy leather boots and unusual and fun heels, Graham's has a great mix of stuff that will keep you from blending in. Think of this place as a little bit indie. They sell a few brands that I have always loved - Poetic License and Irregular Choice, which I haven't found anywhere else in Dublin. The prices aren't bad, and the sale prices are awesome. Lots of pairs are half off or even more! Definitely check this place out if you're not interested in the cookie cutter party girl look.

Hello "Hello" said…read morethe nice but clearly tired shop assistant, "how can I help you?" She looked at me, realised it was unlikely that I was in to get shoes for myself (we were in the kids dept) and looked for the child that must be somewhere in tow. ...there he was... faster than a speeding bullet, diving through my legs, past the fish tank (really big, impressive and colourful) and under the benches. She looks at the legs and feet poking out, measures the feet and gets a selection of runners for himself. The selection was big and well chosen.... All bright, boyish and garish as hell. I spotted the ones he would go for immediately - not the most expensive (but not cheap), but by far the brightest most garish runners I have ever seen - they even had lights, lots of lights. Within 2 mins he had them on He didn't take them off for 3 days. Great shop, great (and very tolerant) staff.
