I have visited Kapp's a few times when my wife can't find the time to do my hair. Cool place and…read moregreat company. This Barber shop is like a time travel back into the 1950's with the authentic look and feel. The owner is super nice and friendly and you can tell he takes pride in his work.

Although born and raised in Ashtabula, I spent time in the Army and have had the opportunity to…read morelive in Hawaii and California after the military the majority of my life, so I have had numerous opportunities to find a regular barber. While it might not seem like such a difficult thing, I have had my haircut by 75 to 100 barbers I would say. When, I moved back to Ashtabula, I tried nearly 10-15 different places here in town including Geneva and Mentor. The usual outcome was how the barber decided they thought my hair should look, rather than what I asked them for. I don't like it very short, which would make me a more frequent customer if they thought about it. And since my hair is naturally curly, a short haircut is a frizzy haircut. When I saw an article in the Star-Beacon about Kapp's Barbershop opening, I figured why not give him a try. I had not found a regular barber yet. I felt good upon entering, and knew right away, I would be returning when my haircut was exactly the way I asked. Since that first visit, I made the mistake of showing up in the afternoon FOUR times (yeah, I counted them), only to see 4 and 5 guys already there and willing to wait for this talented expert, and left with no opportunity but to go back to one of the other places to get a needed cut. That surely taught me the lesson to get there by noon, to be sure to get in. As a result of the pandemic, appointments have replaced walk-ins and waiting, and I will never need to get a unfavorable haircut again. Here is certainly one of the very best barbershops you could ask for...anywhere! Kapp.Setmore.com to make your appointment at the time that is perfect for You

A few things: You said I booked a $25 beard trim. What I actually booked was a $32 (obviously,…read morebefore the reversal). I can show you the receipt. You said I was 11 minutes late. 11 minutes. Most dentists, doctors' offices, and social services offices provide a grace period of 15 minutes. That's a reasonable accommodation for traffic conditions. Even still, being 11 minutes late has nothing to do with me not having an empty chair when I got there. I could understand if it was 20 minutes. I arrived early to my 1st and 2nd appointments; and, the 1st appointment was good , which is why I booked the 2nd. I still waited 30-40 minutes before the second appointment began. On my 3rd appointment, I waited 10 minutes until the receptionist was off the phone just to be checked in and told that another barber would be completing my service. I said OK and was told he was finishing up. I waited another 10 minutes (while I read the reviews of the lounge) before I walked out. If we are talking about punctuality, I'll give you the 11 minutes, and you still owe me some time. I guess all those other people in the reviews complaining about your double-booking were 11 minutes late as well. You already stated in your own words, "To feel slighted is absolutely understandable and I will personally own that." There is nothing more to say after that. To accuse me of being condescending when all I am doing is telling my side tells me two things. #1, you don't know what condescending means. And #2, you don't know what accountability means. Lastly, I have never seen or spoken with a Lozell S. I spoke with a woman that day. I did not get her name. I was never asked, nor was I ever offered an opportunity to speak with the owner. If I had, I would have taken that opportunity. I am a reasonable person. I asked her if I could receive 50% back. She said no refunds. I said OK. She never mentioned a refund at all. I took it like a life lesson, and I left peacefully. I did not know I had been given a refund until after I left my initial review. Even then, I only asked for 50% back. If anyone says anything different, it is a lie. I did receive the deposit back, and it is appreciated. To anyone reading this: Read my comment carefully. Then read the response from the owner. Then ask yourself if you really want to take the chance of having to deal with this. A professional owner would have stopped at "To feel slighted is absolutely understandable, and I will personally own that." Instead, this owner would rather call the customer a liar in a Yelp review. Read the other reviews and ask yourself if you think I'm lying. This has been wild.
