Considering that I've only made a couple of visits to any of the companies stores, I wanted to take another look. It's especially important since Big Lots has closed in town. I remember that practically everything had "irregular" on it when I had previously visited and that is no longer the case. Hopefully, that means that sleeves aren't different lengths and they just couldn't afford labels. They seemed to have decent clothes and if you're not worried about designer labels, you'll be fine. I limited my visit to the men's area. People working there seemed friendly and observant. It's always good in retail to let everyone know that you see them and that you're watching. read more

My husband tried on some pants when I heard him go "ow!" from the fitting room. Apparently someone had removed the anti theft device so the sharp poking edge was sticking out inside the hem of the jeans he was trying on. He poked his thigh while putting on the pants and it left a mark and pain. We brought it to the employees attention and they were very non chalant about it, saying it happens from time to time from people trying to steal clothes and remove the security tags. It was disappointing. They didn't fill out an injury report or even give us any sort of discount after he was injured. It literally looked like a needle sticking out in the pants. It really could be a health hazard. So while the prices are low and affordable here, I would suggest shopping elsewhere because there's no reason your safety shouldn't be a priority at a store. read more

Tried shopping at dds we drive from Tracy they wouldn't let us use there restroom per employee were short staff we can't then they sent us to go to Starbucks come back after purchasing a drink to be able to use restroom and they say we couldn't. This place is great for toys and clothes. It has a gracious amount of off brand electronics and household items. Why the bad review? You guessed it. CUSTOMER SERVICE. The greeting is ok. It's more of a I don't want to be here and don't steal our very low priced materials type of greeting. The security guard looks unprofessional and is quite rude. The cashier are all females and no males. The gender diversity is minimal. The female cashier are snobby and ego inflated. Sometimes when they are packed. They have short tempers. If anyone goes here. Don't bring any items in the store. They will take it. Only store in Manteca that does this. It is not under law that they can take your store bought belongings. Ok so first there is no public restroom??? Was shopping for 15 min and needed to go, and ended up just going to Ross. Second the store is a mess. Selection: sizes variation is low, style is moderate, home options aren't good at all, shoes and bags are also not great. Guys selection in general for this chain is better than other discount stores. But prices are for the most part pretty cheap, but so is the low end made in China stuff so... A place for finding one gem in the haystack once in a while I guess, but I wouldn't shop here consistently. read more

So very very disappointed with this store - I walked in on Saturday 7/8 early afternoon, gave it a solid 3 minutes and then left. The shoe section right as you walked in was mostly empty shelves and lacked order for the few pairs that were there. Clothing racks were sparse. I didn't even head to the back as it looked empty from the front. The store wasn't packed with people so I don't think the low inventory was a result of heavy shoppers just poor management. Very much had the feel of "take it or leave it" so if that's DD's goal, they achieved it. Went next door to Ross and was a happy camper! Always really disorganized which is confusing because it's sister store, Ross, which is two doors down has the same procedures of stocking the floor and the sales team follows the same methods but for some reason it's wayyyy messier. This issue makes it difficult to shop there because you cannot locate merchandise for the life of you and when you do it's damaged. It looks like someone low key threw the stuff on the shelves. The staff seems to not even care about their job as they are gossiping consistently even when customers are waiting in line. Also, no bathroom. And if you want to bring in something to drink while you're shopping you can't do so here. read more

I walked into the store and the Loss Prevention Greeted me and i felt really welcomed! I walked around for a bit, found some cheap earphones that actually work great! The Clothes is nice and very affordable which is awesome! Way better than the one on Hammer Lane in Stockton. The Cashier was nice she helped me quick and was not rude at all! It does suck that they don't have a public restroom and their doors are so heavy but i figured they are heavy so children can't run out which helps. Overall not a bad DDs read more

If you are shopping and need to use the restroom don't even bother asking since they have no public restroom! They send you over to the store next door. Forgot how terrible this place treats customers. The manager Monique told us it is common sense to rehang our clothes after trying them on. No where does it say that. And then she said we try the clothes on on the sales floor because she will not let us try them on in the fitting room. We were aghast. They really should put a 0 star option. We were curious about the DD's store. Never been to a DD's store before and I will never go back again. It looks like they just been through a riot. Stuffs all over the place, low inventory, hard to find something there. I found an item I like then we went to the cash register and we left after waiting for more than 15 min. The cashier was only to the second customer since we got I to the line there were 4 more before us and only one cash register open in a Saturday afternoon. The store Ross is just beside so don't waist your time at DD's and just go to Ross. It's the same kind of store but Ross is a lot better in our opinion! read more

If DD's could have a sponsor it would be me. I use to be a promoter for dds here in Manteca. Where I work everyone complimented me on my outfit it when friends and family received gifts and came to my house would gush at how fly I decorated my home. I would tell everyone I knew he to dds especially in Manteca. Recently, I went to my favorite store and I was racial profiled. In today's age and Manteca ok I get it but when you're a regular customer and you make it a point that you're watching and following me makes it very uncomfortable for me to spend anymore of my money with your company as a hole. The incident, I walked into Manteca store like I normally do and head straight to the boots b because it's boots season. I was not greeted like normally, but that wasn't on my mind. I continue shopping and I find my sister in girls section picking things out for my niece's birthday. That's when the rest of the staff comes out I guess they were in a meeting. It's my sister and I in the girls section, a lady in the men's, two ladies in the woman's section closer to the aisle and the other women were on the other side of the store near shoes and home goods. As security is walking to her station she makes it clear to speak directly to my sister and I as we are in the girls section, now I would of been ok because she is doing her job she speaks when she is in the aisle closer to the men and women section which made it odd. I brushed it off because I didn't want to think like that but the vibe wasn't right. So, we continue shopping and security sends a sales associate down our aisle ask if we needed help I look around the store as everyone else is shopping doing their thing no one is coming up to ask if they need assistance. At this point, I'm feeling really weird and uncomfortable so I tell my sister let's get our things and go I'm not feeling right. My sister was in compliance, but needed to go look in the junior section for a coat for her other daughter so I was like ok cool. When we get to the section security at this point is turned staring in our direction only while there are people in the shoes and purse aisle. When I say starring to the point I starred back and wasn't even greeting the customers that were coming in. I looked at my sis and said let's go somethings not right here today. We get in line to the registration sales associate called us up and didn't begin scanning until she was done texting whoever at that point I left my stuff in the counter and told my sister we need to go. I never felt like that at a discounted store in my life the customer service was bs and top flight security all need retraining, because as you were following us and not paying attention to the woman with the stroller who kept placing items in the bottom basket maybe you would of caught a shop lifter that day. I love DDS until today. Had to use the restroom and I'm pregnant. And they said company policy no restrooms for customers. I was so pissed I left all my stuff there and I will never shop there again. I appreciate that all the staff was wearing masks. However, there was barely any social distancing, which isn't the fault of the staff, rather it's the customers. Other than that, I found some amazing deals. I was cashed out by an associate named Jennifer who was very kind and helpful. She cleaned the pin pad and area before I set down my items, made sure all my items were properly bagged, and engaged in a nice conversation with me and my daughter. When it comes to the store itself, not very clean. They decreased the size of their aisles which makes it hard to social distance. The home section was practically empty, but the apparel side was basically overflowing. Overall, my experience was okay. I would've given it a 4 or 5 star if the store was a bit cleaner. read more

Walked in just to browse, found a couple items we needed for a good price. The store is a flippin MESS! Xmas sale shopping type mess. Even then, I kept browsing. I finally take my items to the register, only to get in the wrong line. There was so much stuff everywhere that I missed the signs for returns vs purchases. Waited in the returns line for ten minutes, before jumping to the correct line. I wasn't the only one, about twelve other customers lined up behind me. Sorry guys! It didn't matter that we were in the wrong line because there was only one cashier. One person doing returns first before helping anyone else. She didn't call for back-up, not that there was anyone to call. I didn't see anyone else besides the "security" guard, who was parked right next to the register chatting away. When I finally was called up, the women at the register didn't offer an apology or explanation. Didn't make eye contact and just scanned my items and neglected to tell me the total until I asked. I went to the store this afternoon with my daughter and 4 grandchildren. While my items were being scanned, my grandson sat on the counter. The cashier, told him not to do that in a harsh tone. I told her she could have used a better tone, since he is just a kid. She snapped back at me saying that her tone was fine. She went on and on as she was scanning, since we had 2 carts full of mostly toys, I told her that is enough. She stopped for a while then out of the blue she said people need to control their kids. I told her that is enough, and she needs to focus on scanning. She said to me "you are a disgrace." I asked who the manger was, and yes you guessed it, she was the manager. I read her name tag and it said Monique, Store Manager. I said what kind of a manager speaks to customers like that? At this point she said you don't have to shop here, and stopped scanning and said I refuse to give you service. Then the security slowly approached us, and since my grandchildren were terrified, we left. What kind of a person does that to children who were looking forward to playing with those toys? I just read the very poor reviews regarding customer service and I cannot believe nothing has been done about it. Even though this is a discount store, it still needs customers to stay open. I will contact dd's corporate office tomorrow to place a formal complaint about Monique, the store manager. In the mean time, we will stop going to this store, for as long as Monique works there, and you have lost another customer. read more

I give them one star they have great prices but sadly there customer service needs some work . If you don't have a good lead worker how can others fallow. Sadly I see people getting mad at staff and not there fault there that way I watched the person that was in charge doing the same thing .
