I actually ended up expanding the scope of the work when they arrived because they made a recommendation on-site, and a very fair price to go along with that. I needed some help clearing the space where they were going to spray, and they were more than willing to help me, which was awesome--"we don't mind, we are here to work" was his exact response. If you're exploring insulation options, do yourself a favor and go with Cocoon Spray Foam.

Ms. Andrea…read moreLeigh Martin has cut off all communication with us, is refusing to provide the location of our paid-for property, and has threatened to resell it. The Core Issues: * Paid in Full for Potentially Non-Existent Goods: We are currently on our second licensed builder for this project. Our first builder paid Ms. Martin / Meliora House of Design in full for our cabinetry. Despite that, she attempted to alter contract terms, wanting us to sign a new agreement and pay additional fees. Crucially, I contacted her designated cabinet builder, who advised that our cabinets were never actually built. * Police Intervention: When Police contacted her regarding the withholding of our property, she claimed that only our current builder could pick the cabinets up. However, our builder has no contract with her, and she still refuses to provide a physical pickup address to us (the rightful owners). * Additional Conditions: Andrea has stated in writing that she will consider our $55,000 worth of cabinetry "abandoned" and will pursue "resale" within 14 days, all while blocking our ability to retrieve them. Law Enforcement, Public Records & Legal Actions: * Department of Justice: Due to the nature of these business practices, a formal report has been officially filed against Ms. Martin with the Department of Justice (DOJ). * Federal Court Action: On March 17, 2026, a federal default action was entered against Andrea Leigh Martin and Meliora House of Design, LLC in the Western District Court of North Carolina, stemming from a massive $250,000 judgment claim. * Extensive Liens: Public records reveal that Ms. Martin currently has 6 active liens filed against her. Summary: Andrea Martin took a massive up-front payment, failed to deliver or install, misrepresented production status, and used threats of reselling cabinets we paid for--which her own designated cabinet builder confirmed to us were never actually built. To clarify her spin: she messaged our current builder to pick up the cabinets, but proceeded to change the pickup location and stipulations over and over until they understandably refused to engage further with her erratic runaround. Please note that on previous negative reviews, Andrea consistently blames the customer and claims she made "upgrades at no cost." To be clear: she did not provide any upgrades to us--and it wouldn't matter, because she never produced or delivered the cabinetry required by our contract. Also, be cognizant of any positive reviews that fail to mention Andrea actually completing or delivering physical work. Furthermore, Andrea claimed she had counsel and advised us to go through them. We would have happily done so, as we don't believe any ethical attorney would advise a client to do anything other than deliver the goods paid for in full. Despite her bluster, no legitimate legal representative has ever stepped forward to coordinate a resolution. Andrea will rightfully state this process has been drawn out over a 2 year period. In that time, we thought we established a "friendship." Unfortunately, as you can see from other reviews, that doesn't seem to matter. Due to the significant delays Andrea Martin has caused, we have had to hire a new cabinet company. In addition to incurring that expense, we were informed that her measurements were significantly off.

None of the work on the deck was to code after repeatedly calling and texting with specific photos and videos to Mr. Santiago of all that needed to be done to bring it to code and code compliance written into the signed contract. The deck lacked flashing against the house in multiple places, the stairs were uneven and crooked, the railings were not to code, boards were cut unevenly, etc. Bottom line is we are left with a bigger mess than we started with and now have to completely tear up what was done incorrectly and pay a new builder to redo the deck without any refund from Mr. Santiago. Run from this company.

They had issues related to a mill being stolen but I was willing to wait because they're a small, local company. So Jared says my slab is set to be cut first week of May and he contacted me May 3rd to verify measurements and he says they're getting ready to cut it. That's the last contact Jared had with me. I recommended to my family to go to hilltop for an unrelated wood project. While they were at hilltop in early July, they asked about the status of my wood slab and were told "yeah, we couldn't do that". That was the entire explanation. I never heard from Jared. Horrible customer service and honestly would never do business with them. I'd still be waiting if family members hadn't happened to ask while they were there. Do yourself a favor and go to Asheville Hardware instead, I walked in and had my pick of over 100 slabs, got one for cheaper than hilltop quoted me and had it in my garage that same day. So hilltop took 6 months and I got no slab. Asheville Hardware, I had a slab in my truck within an hour. The owner of hilltop left me a voicemail after I contacted them. Apparently he had no idea any of the issues with my order or the customer service I received which isn't a good sign for an extremely small business.
