Dealings with money were completely transparent, with a detailed statement listing costs of materials, labor, and Steven's (quite reasonable) mark-up; for the quality of work, I felt it was all very fairly priced. An emergency arose in our basement the day of my very first consultation with Steven, and he sent his crew over the next day to take care of it, even before we had agreed on a contract for services. We had our work done during the pandemic, and though there were some inevitable delays in getting materials, we never felt our project was "put on hold" in favor of a larger or newer one. Matthew came and looked at it and recommended a pressure treated fence to match the rest of the deck. He looked closely at it, took pictures and did an absolutely beautiful job. I do not recommend hiring Anderson Carpentry…read more I am the homeowner of the custom built home advertised on their page. Our home is their first and only full-house build to date and we felt the entire process was very disorganized. George Anderson was our general contractor and we believe he was unprepared for the scope of work and size of the project. Installs were not always done in standard order, which resulted in delays and extra labor. Materials were not always made available on schedule, which would result in subcontractors arriving but not being able to complete their work as planned. Overall, we felt the management and communication during the entire project was very poor. During the job, a worker accidentally sprayed white paint on our brown wooden swing outside. Instead of Anderson Carpentry offering to help remove the paint, we were given advice on how we could fix it ourselves. We feel the quality of the work is overall disappointing. There are noticeable flaws throughout the home. We were also given inaccurate timelines throughout the project and our home was completed over 4 months behind schedule, and only after we hired a lawyer to serve a demand letter to Anderson Carpentry. Everything about this experience was stressful, exhausting, frustrating and disappointing. We feel it was a serious mistake on our part to have hired Anderson Carpentry and we deeply regret it.
