(Even when I said I wanted to get a second opinion before scheduling repairs). Such good people. When researching, I got great reviews from others in the neighborhood and went back to get the repairs done. They fit me in within 2 weeks. Once I dropped my car off it was done within 2 days during an extreme heat wave. They also gave me a reasonable price. My car is driving like new now and I feel relieved. 10/10 recommend. This is my third visit to Ken's Automotive…read more I brought my car back to Ken's for an oil change and made a separate appointment for brakes. I was shocked by the price of an oil change (it was higher than Jiffy Lube and Midas) but the price for brakes was less than what I have paid in the past at other auto shops. I'm still in sticker shock of the oil change but the upside is that I'm a 5K mile change instead of a 3K mile change due to the limited driving (car is 11 years old with 93K miles). I have an appointment to replace my car brakes which barely based the annual inspection so at the time of this review, my car is with the shop awaiting for repairs.

This had been my go-to garage for a while but not after my experience with their owner today. I was…read moretold that I needed two new tires and was sent an estimate for $185. Great price, I approved it no problem. Brought my car in today and when it was done, I was notified that the total was $415. I called to ask why the difference between the estimate and the total and was told that the estimate was for one tire. I asked why they would send an estimate that isn't for the entire job and the owner basically started to yell at me over the phone saying the car needed two tires and would I like him to put one of the old ones back on, otherwise basically to go F myself. All I wanted was for him to say "sorry for the miscommunication on the estimate" and we'd be good. But I couldn't even get a word in as he's talking about "this is how I've done this for 40 years" and other boomer nonsense. To send an estimate that doesn't have the total for a job is so completely outrageous and deceptive that I will never be going to this place again. Congrats to them on getting the extra $230 and losing a lifetime, previously loyal customer. Edit to respond to owner: Happy to explain in a little simpler terms since you don't seem to get this. I came and was told I needed to replace two tires. I said ok, please send me an estimate for replacing the two tires. You send me an estimate. When I see that estimate, I expect the line marked "Total" to be the actual total that I am going to pay. Quite frankly I don't care about the itemization above it, all I care about is the total. I'm quite certain the tool you use to send invoices has the capability of changing the quantity from "1" to "2" so that the total shown is accurate for the work that will actually be done. That is the deceptive practice that I am commenting on. Your total was not the total. it was less than half the total. Additionally, since you seem inclined to insult my intelligence (I work in finance by the way and basically do math for a living)...$185x2 = $370. Your total was significantly above that. Happy to take the $45 refund whenever you're ready. Congrats on doubling down here for all to see the stubbornness they'll face when paying your business a visit.
