I had to hire others to complete my bathroom, replacing toilet, shower fixtures, and reinstalling door and door frame. All of this was done at additional expense to me; no offer was made by The Cabinetry Shop to share these expenses. My renovation project went on for months which was very frustrating as payment had been made initially as requested. Vanity cabinet was ordered after payment was made. However, its size was not verified before my project start date, which again was delayed several times, and it did not fit. Another cabinet was ordered, of course it does not match my vanity, disappointing. The toilet they installed was a small round one, which was very uncomfortable. I was told that it had to be that size because of the limited space in my bathroom. I was also told that I needed a 14" rough-in toilet. Neither of these statements were true. Another plumber came and installed a 12" rough-in toilet, the same rough-in of the one The Cabinetry Shop had installed, which is a compact oblong toilet, comfortable to sit on. I also had to replace the shower wand they put it because it was much to difficult to use. I have a disabled person in my home. I could go on and on. Don't hire this company; you will be disappointed.

He didn't order our cabinets right away even though he had deposit then increased our prices as the factory prices and freight increased because he had not placed the order. Then we were endlessly delayed. One excuse after another. We were told to expect our cabinets the first week in March. We finally got our cabinets in mid June. A couple of them were ordered wrong so we were delayed again. My cabinets install was finally complete in July after the endless delays. It's really a shame because we liked Dave and the quality of the cabinets. If only they could get the work done in a timely fashion!

We had Terry remodel our 1940s bathroom - electrical, plumbing, tile, tub, painting, toilet, sink,…read morelighting, cabinet, exhaust fan, grab bars, counter, plaster repair - the works! It's now been about 4 months since he finished the work and each day I look at our new bathroom and think "wow!' He did a great job! He was patient and always responsive to any questions or issues, and cleaned up each day. Great workmanship too. He started out by measuring and answering any questions we had, offering ideas here and there but letting us make our own decisions. Unlike some other contractors, he did not give fancy 3D architectural renderings, nor did he accompany us to each supplier to pick out products. Here's what his process was, which was perfect for us. We received a proposal contract which listed each item or task, along with a cost allowance for each item. If we chose something more expensive than its allowance, the final price would reflect the increase. If what we chose cost less than the allowance, the final cost would go down by that much. So we had a bottom line price from the start and would have the final decision on expenses. He then also gave us a list of his suggested suppliers from which to pick out all of the products. We worked with those suppliers to make selections at their respective showrooms (they work with TLC regularly), and they forwarded our selections to Terry. A few selections we made were from suppliers not on his list, which was fine, but the places he suggested were where most of the items came from. When all selections were made, he provided us with a revised proposal contract reflecting our selections and revised costs. Then he - not us - did the ordering from each vendor to insure that all of the parts and pieces fit together and would work, plus that way his contractor discount was applied. His final contract to us was transparent and showed all prices. No additional markups, no change order fees, no nonsense. If someone wants computer-generated architectural renderings, having him present at each supplier meeting, one central showroom where every needed product and samples are all in one place, then this type of contractor isn't likely for you. If however, you want a remodeling contractor that not only provides the quote but also does the actual work himself, with reliable suppliers that work with him, with a fair price and a minimal amount of stress (if that's possible lol), then TLC's a good choice. Would we recommend TLC Contracting? If you haven't it already guessed: the answer is absolutely!

I would not recommend this granite and cabinet company based on our experience. What should have…read morebeen an exciting kitchen remodel turned into a frustrating and stressful situation. First, it took them three weeks just to come out and take measurements for our cabinets, which immediately delayed our entire project timeline. Communication during that time was very poor. When the cabinets were finally delivered, one of them was damaged, and instead of taking responsibility, they blamed us. To make matters worse, the countertops that were installed were not the ones we selected -- and they were also damaged. After bringing these issues to their attention, they have now stopped responding to us altogether. At this point, we are left with damaged products, the wrong countertops, and a delayed remodel. Extremely disappointing customer service and lack of accountability. I strongly suggest others proceed with caution.

(See pictures below). Here is the text exchange between the company and I since no one returned my phone call, nor did this person even call to speak to me at anytime. (all from the following day of the fall) Kenosha & Racine Granite Corp: "Good morning. That's very unusual we can fix it no problem we can warranty anything that old but can deduct 50 percent to fix it.we would get 400 so would 150 be ok w you can do it this am if your available" Me: "We thought this to be very unusual as well. When the sick fell it caused damage to the pipe and cabinet. The garbage disposal appears to be ok but will need that looked at as well. When you say that you can come out this am that is great. Will all of this be fixed in addition to the sink?" Kenosha & Racine Granite Corp: "No they can't fix cabinets but can hang the sink. I can get guy to do that probably 200 Or so our cost I am confused. What will be fixed and what would I have to pay? Would be 150 and approx 200 so 350 or so" Me: "For what? What would be completed?" Kenosha & Racine Granite Corp: "Ok so rehang the sink. Have to look at the garbage disposal if running smooth if not they vibrate everything apart. 150 fix cabinet best we can. See about plumbing 200-350 approx so 350-400 total can't guarantee the cabinet repair looks like painted ?" Me: "Honestly as I research & talk to more & more people I am questioning this sink's installation. In talking with contractors, insurance people & a friend that installs sinks such as this It appears our sink was not supported well enough. As you know an undermount sink needs to be well supported. Now as I needed to take a closer look at the job there isn't even a silicone ring or anything on the top sink lip nor are there any other supports but the 4 clips (2 of which are now totally gone as the sink pulled them from the granite.) I waited for your assessment & it still doesn't make sense to me nor sound fair. "garbage disposal ...vibrate everything..."?? this sink was installed 3 years ago. This should not happen. I feel this is your companies fault. You should have insurance too cover for these rare instances. As a customer I do not want to get into a back & forth. I do not have the time nor the energy-- Nor should a customer have to do that. We are just lucky no one was injured. Thank you for quick communication,& assessment. I just do not think it's fair nor just." Upon further review of my notes from the installation, I was reminded that a piece of the countertop was cut incorrectly. The dimensions were accurate but the L shape went in the wrong direction. The company decided to cut the new piece free of charge. Not sure why I would have been charged for a recut error. Nor did the company offer compensation, a percentage, off, etc.

We ordered a replacement piece under warranty on January 3rd. After multiple communications we discovered our order had never been placed and the person we had been communicating with had quit. The order was then replaced though it took months to receive communication that the order had arrived. We actually had to personally follow up multiple times to figure out if it had arrived. When we went to pick up the order the staff told us we would need to pay $150+ for the product even though this had never been communicated with us and we were told the replacement piece was covered under warranty. We provided proof of this via multiple written text and email communications though they refused to cover it under warranty and demanded payment. On top of all of this it took more than 30 minutes for them to locate our product in the shop. They had never linked our order with our address and had misspelled our name entirely resulting in this prolonged wait. It is unfortunate as they recently merged with Bliffert Lumber where we are routine customers (have purchased baseboards, gardening supplies, tools and more). We will never shop with either company EVER again as a result of this terrible customer service and product. Stay away! This place is awful.
