I applied for an auto loan with DCU due to the great rates they advertised. I provided all requested documents and I am the most qualified candidate a bank could wish to have. They denied me stating they couldn't verify my address and my identity. They never once reached out to me to request further documentation. I ended up going with Logix bank who approved me in a heartbeat with my 850 credit score. Something is not right at this bank and I would strongly recommend staying away from it. read more

Positively the worst banking experience ever. The staff at the Westborough location border on incompetent with poor at best command of the English language. DCU needs to monitor the customer service and language skills and force a much higher standard. Always a fail at DCU. Three years ago, managers at DCU Westborough had no idea what a Car Fax or Auto Check report was. Loan officers botched the application process causing later problems. Recently I tried to pay off an auto loan, the teller had no idea what to do and could not comprehend what I was saying. Teller was totally clueless, a droid. The Westborough location has the above issues. The Burlington location is much worse - an epic fail. DCU is a great place for a good rate on a car loan - That is is a big positive. read more

DCU - Banks & Credit Unions Near Me - Westborough, Massachusetts

i am going thru 5% down regular mortgage with DCU Bank, with a good rate, but with high price. DCU loan officers are the worst on the market. At the beginning, before you sign your P&S (Purchase and Sales Agreement) they are very courteous, polite, attentive, prompt, feels like a dream for customers, but after you sign your P&S and need to move forward with the bank requirements, you be better of to be expert (I have some advantage just to be a Real Estate Broker, imagine for people who have no clue???). The only thing the Loan Officer was concerned was rush with the appraisal. Since the first week of loan processing they were pushing me to have an appraisal done... (Talk about sales pressure hein ???) After being treated in an rude and uneducated way by the first loan officer, they have assigned a second loan officer to my loan. That did not make much difference as any questions made to the loan officer got a simple, flat, and blunted responses, in the way like "this is what have to be done", no matter how many times your ask for explanation on basic things. After while, I was not even getting call backs from messages left to my loan officer neither responses on emails, which just came from a single mortgage originator, in the impression he did not even had the courage to give me a call... How DCU can call this professionalism ? Specially when you contracting a major debt that will affect the life of my family for years... !!! BE AWARE !!! Loan officers at DCU treat you in such major rude way, yes, you don't dare to make questions, don't even think about, they feel as they are doing a favor for you when working on your loan, and they don't like to assist customers to understand and clarify other points, but be sure that they WILL charge you over $4,000 in fees and other stuff, YES favors cost lots of money. If I had the chance to go back in time I would NOT contract DCU as my mortgage bank, but that is over ... They just came out with a Student Loan Program. My Girlfriend went there and they didn't know their rates and after finally finding the page on their site listing the program after she called me to txt her a screenshot they told her they can't help her, they don't know how to help her and she can do it online. My advice would be to avoid this credit union at all costs. Due to my wife's disability, we wanted to try DCU because they were close to us and because the digital aspect of it would make it easier for my wife to handle her finances through her computer. Every thing about the credit union is overly complicated, takes forever, and offers nothing that can't be found elsewhere. We filled out the application online, submitted our info, and transferred funds to open the account. We were asked to bring in a copy of our lease and our ID's. We brought the requested paperwork in, and we were told that we would be getting our cards in a few days. Almost 2 weeks later, I went in to see why we had't received our cards and was told that they girl that I gave the paperwork to hadn't put it in the system yet. We got that worked out (I wasn't happy, but was willing to let it slide since sometimes new accounts can be tricky), and I was told that we would get our cards in the mail. A week later, we received our debit cards, but no pin numbers. I waited for a few days for the letter with the pin numbers, and it never came. I went to the branch and was told that I could not change my pin number at the branch, but would have to do so online, and that I couldn't do it until I received my pin letter. We requested another one be sent out. Now it has been over a month, and we still do not have pin numbers. I called DCU to see if I could check a balance, change pins, etc, and was told that I can do NOTHING until I get the pin number, and that I CANNOT change my pin number EVER. No one has ever been rude at DCU, just incompetent. We will be closing our account and opening another one at another bank this week. I will never do business with DCU again. read more

I refinanced my home through DCU in July 2015. Communication with their loan officer was a constant challenge - unclear instructions, slow responses to emails, and sometimes no response at all. I thought about stopping the process several times but since rates were rising, I resigned myself to continue. Upon completing the transaction, I then received no paperwork regarding the loan. To get this final communication issue resolved and to ensure they were receiving my payments, I spent 30 minutes running the gauntlet of there phone numbers to talk to someone in person. I've held mortgages on 4 homes. This was the worst experience. I would never use them again. read more
