I was talking to a friend and he reminded me that I am a member of the digital federal credit union here in Nashua, New Hampshire at 379 Amherst St So I called them and made an appointment to meet with their notary. I checked in with the teller and was handed over to Sara GEIB who is a Member Service Representative. She was extremely friendly and extremely helpful. She was able to get my documents notarized and take care of all of my documenting needs. First of all the bank evidently institute new policy that it must say for DCU mobile deposit only and because I left the for out three checks of mine were not deposited and declined causing me quite a mess when I emailed them they sent me an encrypted email back, which you don't know how to open because it doesn't tell you you need some sort of a passcode which you have no idea how to get DCU themselves couldn't even answer that question so disappointed in them. I used to sing the praises of DCU to everyone. However, in the last few months, I am no longer singing, in fact, I am moaning. The service has gone way downhill. The helpful people seem to want to get you off your call as soon as possible and often prefer to recommend you go to the DCU website instead of trying to help. I hate to confess, but I am thinking of following David C.'s steps and moving my account. My love affair with DCU is waning. I hope you all pay attention to the complaints coming through and up your game to where it used to be. The new automated phone system absolutely sucks I have been a member at DCU for several years and I have never had an issue now I can't even check my balance without having to talk to a representative My member number and PIN number is being rejected on the phone and the only thing the representative could do was put in a complaint she was completely clueless on how to fix the problem I don't have the option to check online so this is what I'm stuck with, what a disappointment this is especially from a bank like DCU where you expect so much more. read more

WORST SERVICE EVER!! Banking is IMPOSSIBLE! There is NO phone support without a 4 hour wait for a call back for any simple banking question. When they call back they are rude if you don't have your member number- account number is useless to them. Phone lines on their end "disconnect" causing the customer to have to call back in and wait ANOTHER 4 hours for a call back which means the next day because they are now closed! Deposited a check with phone app on Saturday. 5 pm on Tuesday no sign of it in my account even though they emailed me a confirmation number when it was deposited. Can't go to branch without an appointment which is an hour phone call to make the appointment with hold times. STEER CLEAR OF THIS AGENCY! Should be shut down for bad banking practices!!! read more

Apparently this happened awhile ago and their vendor is trying to figure out the problem? She also told us "good luck" to people wanting tax information. I have been with DCU for 20 years, including personal, mortgage and business accounts. They used to be a very responsive community credit union, problems were few, and you could literally walk into a local branch and a knowledgeable and empowered employee could resolve any issue you may be having. Unfortunately, those days are long gone. I have accounts at several banks and can say that I do not run into the continuing issues that I experience at DCU. Within the next month I will be transferring all of my accounts to another banking institution, here are some specific reasons why I will no longer bank with DCU: 1) The online banking experience is poor at best. Most bill payments are still made by physical check, you need to schedule at least 10 days to ensure the check is received on time. 2) Transactions to linked bank accounts (outside DCU) are unreliable. Scheduled transfers never made it to the linked accounts. Nobody at DCU can help you with this because they are not in control of the online banking software. -After several weeks the company in charge of the online software figured out that there were issues with linked account transfers, so a significant number of people were impacted. My business depends on my bank to pay my bills on time, this type of problem and the time it took to resolve the problem is just not acceptable. 3) Customer service does not access to the information necessary to understand and address most issues, they are not empowered to make decisions to address any online problem, and they do not have the tools necessary to do so, even if they were empowered to fix the problem. Example that just happened: -Business checking had a positive several thousand dollar balance, then I deposited a large check from a customer. DCU put a $15K negative hold on BEFORE adding any deposit, making the entire checking account negative so I did not have access to the money in the account before the deposit. I then waited 20 minutes on the phone to talk to a representative that said "It' just the system adjusting itself, the money be back soon, just log off and log back in again." DCU does not seem to understand why this is not acceptable. 4) The mortgage department is completely removed from the banking section. There is no communication between the departments and, as far as I can tell, there is no communication within the department. Here are some examples of issues I have experienced: -Was making scheduled automated payments from DCU checking to the mortgage account for approximately 10 years. Then one day I get a written notification that my mortgage had not been paid in months. When I checked my account the money came out of checking -but was never applied to the mortgage. It took 6 months and three more late payments for DCU to figure out what was going on, actually pay the mortgage, and refund the late fees. -I applied for a home equity loan through DCU. They were so disorganized that it was taking weeks just for them to decide what paperwork was necessary for the loan. I got so discouraged, I went online, filled out an application with another bank, and was approved, before DCU could even decide what they actually needed to process the loan. read more

I haved used DCU for many years with no issues but since they changed their platform to a nonuser-friendly one I have been unhappy. The billpay doesn't have all the features it use to and I find it less reliable. One month I think my scheduled payments did not happen and when I went to check they had a new billpay format. I made a transaction the other day onsite that they posted incorectly as a cash withdrawal from a California EBT card which I do not have. It was a cash payment on my VS. I don't even understand how that would work if I did have a Cali ebt, why in the world would it be showing as a checking transaction? I have tried to stick it out here because of how long I've been with them and it's a hassel to switch banks but I can't tolerate mistakes like this that are so erroneous and their new platform is too cumbersome. read more

Worst Banking institute I've dealt with In the USA. Extremely low interest rates for CDs and savings accounts. Their managers and agents, treat customers very Poorly. Their paperwork to use your own money is a pain. No other banking institutes I've conducted business with have this much red tape. I'm not a Dog I shouldn't have to jump through hoops to use my own money. Very Limited services needed to conduct business. Their ATM went down in the middle of a transaction causing a reversal of funds. Called support. They put in a ticket and never responded. Called local branch. They passed the buck. They say corporate has to fix it . Very angry and not expecting to get a resolution soon. Not only are we without funds but they are unable to do a damn thing. I was very happy with their service but my opinion of them is now very low. Support makes you answer questions from 15 years ago and if you get any wrong good luck and God rest your soul. I'm a new member but what attracted me is: - proactive response to secure customer assets when ATM/credit card numbers are compromised, like Target's - they aren't out to rake you over the coals like banks do with relentless ever evolving fee structure for allowing them to use _your_ money - no we're-doing-you-a-favor attitude from staff or DCU phone support - rather intelligent, attentive and humane staff and policies - ample ATMs, locally and nationally Considering they have all the services of a bank, including car and mortgage loans and safe deposit boxes, and insurance on your deposits, I can't see any reason to put up with Wall St.'s version of "bank" any more. Deposits/withdrawal windows move at a normal pace but all that personal attention does come at a price - you won't be in and out in 5 minutes if you're there for account services like setting up a new account or loan. I'm okay with that, at least at the pace of the Nashua and Merrimack branch. read more

As a local real estate agent my job requires me to work with credit unions and loan officers. Every time I've done a transaction with DCU credit union it has been a very bad experience no matter what branch it was. There's no other way with to say this but the basically they do not like real estate agents and will not communicate nor help in the course of the transaction. And as anyone who has bought or sold a house knows it is very important to work as a team with your realtor and loan officer. This is never a problem with any other bank or mortgage company, but with DCU it is a nightmare. They refuse to cooperate and help in anyway to help the customer buy a home. I've tried several different branches of DCU and each experience was worse than the previous. Additionally they make promises and never deliver. They quote the customer the lowest interest rate but by the time closing comes the rate has mysteriously increased and the customer is left holding the bag. At that point the customer will lose a sizable deposit. I don't know how they are in business but I guess that's why the require you to become a member of their credit union so that they can lock in. read more

On their website, they show all the details for everything they offer. Unlike other banks, there aren't a lot of fees. I believe there's only a $1 minimum for a checking account and a $5 minimum for a savings account. But there's no certain limit you have to be at to avoid fees; there just aren't any. They also offer direct deposit where you can get your paycheck up to two days early, and there are also no fees for having direct deposit. That's what I like about DCU; they don't have any nonsense fees that other banks have. DCU also offers their own credit cards and different types of insurance and loan options. Their credit cards have low APRs, so that's nice. For me, their insurance and loans aren't as low as some other options, but for other people it's good for them. I've also had very good customer service every time I've been there. I highly recommend DCU. The only unfortunate thing about DCU is the number of branch locations. But they did recently expand the number of their ATM locations. read more
