I used to love the DC-3 location on Capitol Hill in DC and although it closed I had some hope that since this location carries on with the branding and the menu that it might still have some of the magic I miss from the old location. Turns out the branding and the menu are the only things surviving because the food here is just not good at all. The Philly dog used to have real Cheese Whiz and was served on a delicious pretzel roll. Not any more -- some average roll and some very low quality liquified cheese product of unknown origin. The Chicago 7 similarly used to be served on a poppy seed roll as it's supposed to be. Now some average roll. Really unimpressive visit. I won't be back. read more

Should have read the reviews. I ordered hot tea ?$ and plain bagel $2.50. Asked for it to be toasted with butter. Bagel wasn't toasted and stale. Got charged for bagel with cream cheese $4.40 and bottled tea $3.95 which is always more money than hot water and a Lipton tea bag. Complained to cashier that I got charged incorrectly. What I have to bring the rating down for is the backwards, sexist language on the wall commiserating the "simpler times" when "flight attendants looked like beauty pageant contestants and pilots were heroes." Waited 15 minutes for it and when they called the order, I went to go pick it up and they didn't believe that I ordered it so they gave it to the person who ordered it after me. They made me go grab my crumbled receipt to prove my purchase then I had to wait again for my food. I get it if it's a standard procedure to check everyone's receipt but they had not checked anyone's receipt prior. The place was very clean and the staff friendly. They got me in and out quickly, as I was traveling for business. This fine establishment used to have a location close to my friends house in DC, and we would eat there often. When I heard it was closing and relocating to Dulles of all places, we were pretty bummed. Now the only good cheap food around his part of DC is Pizza Boli. Eventually I had to fly somewhere, and I made damn sure this was the place Id go, no matter how far from my flight (a 10 minute walk, close to the walk from my DC pals place). And lo and behold, its just as good at the airport as it was in DC. I ordered the Chicago dog, to me the best style of hot dog. My argument is this: a chili dog, or the like, is nice, but a lot of hot dog variations tend to smother the flavor of the actual hot dog. The Chicago dog works WITH the flavor of the hot dog, rather than burying it in a delicious pile of condiments. And true to form, dc-3's Chicago dog was killer. It was stuffed to the top with tomato, crunchy and spicy hot peppers, that weird but tantalizing nuclear-waste green pickle relish. Lets not forget the spear of pickle, some chopped onions, a healthy dose of mustard, all on a poppy seed bun of course. It took a while to come out but I enjoyed it thoroughly. Ive also had at the old location the West Virginia dog (chili and coleslaw - oh dear Lord), and the Korean-toppings dog, which were both great, but stick with the Chicago style if you ask me. They serve fries but theres nothing really memorable unless you put chili cheese on them (and why bother when half the menu is chili-centric anyways?). This is good, inexpensive food, and satisfying. It's the best hot dog place!!!! I don't like hot dogs generally, but this is the only place where I will eat them!!!! Hello there. I was just at this establishment. I had ordered a drink and was planning on ordering some food. About five minutes after I was sitting at the bar a very rude man approached me; his name was Todd and he was apparently the manager, and told me I had to take my sunglasses off ( they're prescription and extremely light) because I was having an alcoholic beverage. I am appalled at the services received from the employees as well as Todd; the manager. I can not see at all without my perscriptuon glasses on and the reason they are slightly tinted with a rose color is because my eyes are extremely sensitive to indoor light. Airports have the worst lighting for my eyes. It literally hurts without my glasses. Mr Todd had no right what so ever to tell me weather I can or can not wear my perscripion glasses. Nor does any person as this is America. I can wear glasses if I need to. Specially if they're perscripion. I am outraged. The owners of this establishment should rethink they're choice of employees.
