I called GameStop and a girl answered and she said can you please hold I said sure little did I…read moreknow she was going to put me on hold for 20 minutes that's ridiculous and then she just hangs up so I called back 4 more times I had no answer I called back the fifth time she answered I told her I was on hold for 20 minutes she said she didn't answer the phone she's the only one working there today 6/25/15 so she lied to my face when I had it all on recording like really GameStop I called a different GameStop and I got service and it took 20 seconds for them to answer my question I don't think I should've been on hold for 20 minutes I have proof of this on my call log this is ridiculous you just lost my business at this game stop!!!!

I have extensive history with this particular GameStop and have seen the staff change over the years, for the better. Years ago, clueless and disrespectful teenagers were at the helm, but thankfully, those ineffectual teens have been replaced by more mature and more knowledgeable employees. If you've been to a GameStop inside of a mall, then you've likely encountered a clueless teenage girl who's only working there because the adjacent clothing store wasn't hiring. Well, as of this review, you thankfully won't have to deal with that type of employee here. As for the video game accessories/miscellaneous merchandise in stock, this Riverdale GameStop falls short; I've been to other GameStop locations with better selections of miscellaneous video game merchandise such as toys, hats, and shirts. For those looking for used video games, be cognizant that GameStop seemingly draws their greatest profit margins from both buying and selling used video games, so don't expect substantial store credit for selling your old games, and don't expect to buy used games for dirt-cheap prices unless said games are VERY old. Also, to save yourself time and to be a more informed customer, check GameStop's website for prices and availability of used games, as well as weekly sales specials. For those shopping for new games, consider reserving because GameStop tends to offer pre-order incentives such as posters, cards, and in-game extras such as additional costumes, weapons, maps, etc. If you're eagerly awaiting a blockbuster title, you may even find yourself standing in line for a midnight release party/video game tournament. As a corporation, GameStop has made some questionable decisions over the years, leaving a bad taste in the mouths of the gaming community. However, the damage is usually short-lived, and most seem to keep going back for more, which is very telling. The reason? When GameStop has a sale, they have a SALE. Plus, they get bonus points for having obscure games from 2005 readily available; I recently rekindled my love of DDR. :)
