A few years ago we needed a new garage built after the old one collapsed under heavy snow. Mike…read morecame to the house several times to speak with us. Several, and I mean SEVERAL, times he sat on our couch and his cell phone would ring. He never at any time answered it or silenced it; he would just let it ring. My wife and I found it very disruptive listening to a ringing phone while we were trying to have a conversation. During the project Mike talked several times to our insurance company. That was a mistake. He continuously told us things were set with the insurance company. At the end of the project, I spoke with the insurance company and they told me that they were covering every thing except $2000 plus. Later, when I explained my conversation with the insurance company to Mike he said the insurance company was paying everything (except our deductible of $500). I explained my reservations to him, but he assured me that there would be no more out of pocket expense. After the project was done, we received an invoice from Lutz for over $2000. I was floored! The moral of the story: Don't trust everything your contractor tells you and don't let them deal with your insurance company. You're better have that dialogue yourself. I cannot find it within myself to recommend this company.

The only thing I can say good about this company is that he wore a mask. I contacted him for a free…read moreestimate and informed him of the main things I wanted done. He came out, did an estimate and did remove a section of moldy drywall next to my hot water heater. Then it took him another week to come out, because he said he was getting busy. I told him I get that, but I have to schedule appointments for my work also. Then he would schedule, then not show up. I would text, and see he was on text mode. No answer. He then said his daughter was in a cat accident and at U of M. I told him to take care of her, and I could wait. He insisted on coming on a Monday...Monday rolls around, nope. Then he said Tues, I agreed. Then he said he would come out at 2:30, he shows up at later before dark. Most of the jobs were outside. He was too quick to put a piece of drywall, instead of one whole puece..and he put "mud" on it...which is where my cat litter box is. He sealed it so if another problem with the water heater comes up, we will have to break the entire wall down! Then he proceeds to RIP up the threshold poke around, tear at the flirting and said it was too much to finish. He proceeds to cut and put wood on the side to replace a mildly piece. But it's too small and now I have a 4"gap when I shut my door. He never got around to stealing around my fan from the bathroom, I stalling a gutter above my door or finishing the threshold. He said he would be out Sat.morning early I gave up a needed nail grooming appointment for my dog to sit at home. He texts me late Friday to ask what time Sat and then says he wants you come out in the afternoon. So as I scramble to get my dog to get him taken care of, this contractor texts to see if I can do Monday morning. I said "I have to work." Then he asks when I get home..later in afternoon and then I mention it will be dark. He said "You could leave me a key..." I cancelled with him, he continued to text me all sorts of stuff about rude, how I expect him to work around my schedule... all done with him!
