It may get competitive at times but everyone is out there to work hard and win games. I have played on two teams so far in both Summer A and Summer B. The leagues anywhere from 5 to 6 weeks or in the fall they do 8 to 9 weeks. You play one game each night and the league will send out scheduled to all who sign up. The league is not very expensive and you pay to use the park and for the tee shirts and other stuff. At the end of each season they do a tournament to see who wins. The winners get a trophy as well as get to go on a bar crawl with Florida Fun Bikes. Kickball is so much fun and you really get to know people in the community! The pool tables and the dart boards are high quality and the people working there are really nice and helpful. I'm looking forward to having a nice place to play pool on this side of town!

While it is pricey, it can be worth it if used properly. I especially love the amount of classes that are offered across the 3 locations although some of them I wish were offered at different ones or different times but that's not something that can really be controlled and is up to who the instructor is so I get it. Man how time flies…read more The entire league is composed of volunteers who have one simple mission: teaching children the fundamentals of soccer while making sure they have a great attitude about it. We have been fortunate enough to have landed on some really great teams. Sandy and her crew do what they can to ensure that siblings are either on the same team (if their age grouping works out) or that they at least are on teams that share the same practice field, making life so much easier for the parents. Nearly everyone is there to see the kids have fun. Sure, there can be some rather obnoxious parents that take the games a bit too seriously, but as a whole, everyone is extremely supportive and kind to one another. If you are a parent looking for a soccer league to put your kids in, YSI is definitely a good one. Two weekday practices, followed by a game on Saturday. The rare, occasional Sunday games are always after 2pm, so if you are active in a church, you won't miss out. They are also always accepting donations of used soccer equipment for the kids in the league who are in need. Good sponsors, great kids, and a fun way to spend early fall and late spring. Soccer season usually runs from late September to late November and picks back up around mid March until May.

I ran for the University of North Florida ten years ago. After graduating UNF in May 2009, I ran my first marathon in 3:31. Five years later, I decided I wanted to train to beat my marathon PR. I created my own workouts and trained very hard, but I continued to struggle and feel defeated. I ran my next marathons in 2016 in 3:33 2017 in 3:51, and 2018 in 3:38. After running the marathon in January, I felt defeated and decided that I was done running marathons. In March, a friend signed up for a marathon on June 16th. I decided to try 26.2 one more time.
