As the result of an accident in which I was badly injured, I recently spent a month in Life Care of…read moreBountiful. I was completely delighted with the care I received and with the overall experience. Everybody was so competent and caring. I felt very much that every person with whom I worked truly cared about me. Having daily PT and a nice, clean room in which to rest and in which the staff brought food to me was just uplifting. The staff was quite friendly with the patients. I definitely needed to be in a facility during this time and was so, so happy that I chose Life Care. The staff attended to my needs in a very dedicated fashion. The facility was clean and quiet; my room had a pastoral view. I learned a whole new respect for CNAs. These people worked so hard to take care of everyone. Life care provided great transportation to and from my medical appointments. This is an EXCELLENT service. The way the staff went to bat for me against my insurance company was absolutely moving. THEY REALLY CARED. Despite the pain, I enjoyed my PT very much. I had some really great moments in the facility, which will stick with me for life. By the time I left, the departure felt like leaving a family. I will definitely stay at Life Care again if I find myself in need of skilled nursing in the future. I owe such a debt of gratitude to these kind people that the only way I can think to repay it is to volunteer at the facility. I intend to start as soon as I am healed and to continue for as long as I can. If you ever need short term or long term skilled nursing, please do yourself a favor and stay at Life Care of Bountiful.

Our experience so far has not been long, but it has been frustrating. There really needs to be a…read moreway for family to get daily info on their loved one that doesn't involve tracking down a nurse and taking up more of their already sparse time with either in person or phone update. We live in a world that has so many options digitally, why isn't there a program/app that family members could check to see how their loved one is each day? It seems so simple and would take seconds to update, rather than the much longer it takes a nurse to chase down info and answer question after question from multiple family members. They could easily log-daily nutrition intake/medications/activity (therapy, etc)/test results/concerns/any other important info. Also, no one seems to consistently know anything about patients. It's always- we'll have to check/look into that- with no follow up or answers. How does the patients nurse not know if they've eaten/had ordered tests/results/etc? This should be easily available. The lack of basic patient knowledge/follow up doesn't show much personal interaction/knowledge/relationship with the patients, which is concerning when it involves a loved one that is already struggling. I realize nursing staff is often stretched to their limits, but making some simple changes like mentioned above, could help them and the families. It is also concerning when paging a nurse for over 30 min, and no one showing up, to go out and see 3 of them sitting at the nurses station on their phones. For the most part, we've had good experiences with the staff, with the exception of the nurse Nancy. She couldn't be bothered and acted annoyed when asked basic questions. After trying to put medication in the left hand of a patient who's left side was effected by a stroke, she became annoyed and rough when the patient couldn't hold them. We explained to her multiple times that she needed to put it in her right hand, and got no response besides an annoyed stare from Nancy. She didn't even acknowledge what we were trying to tell her. That was the response we got with every question or piece of information we tried to pass along. This woman should NOT be a nurse if that's how she's going to act. We were kind and respectful when talking to her, there was no need for her rudeness. It spoke volumes about how little she cares about her patients or their families. Had there not been a great CNA there also helping, I would not have felt comfortable leaving the facility without my loved one. The only reason I'm giving 3 stars, is for the great CNA's we've come in contact with. Nancy alone would have constituted zero stars. And the lack of organization and accessibility to info, I would only give 1 star.

I was very excited and hopeful. At my second appointment I was told to go to U of U Health where I don't have medical insurance coverage. Something they knew and didn't care about. While I don't disagree with the other reviews about a sales aspect of some of the programs offered here, I have benefitted tremendously from a consistent program to address my concerns. A couple of experiences have made me a loyal patient. A few years ago I suddenly had excruciating low back and leg pain + numbness after a normal day of skiing. I was incapacitated, unable to walk, sit, stand, or lay flat to find pain relief. This went off and on for months. My orthopedist only offered gabapentin for nerve pain, but it treated the symptom, not the problem. After visiting the ER in the middle of the night with nothing to show for it but a $500 charge and a few pills for pain, I committed to a program of adjustments and physical therapy three days a week for several months at Integrated Wellness. This helped me rehabilitate and improve my strength in areas that were overcompensating and causing nerve pain. I also purchased a life changing Theragun and TENS unit. These weren't gimmicks. They saved me. Now I tell everyone I know to get these items for chronic pain and have purchased several for gifts. And I use them regularly. If you're active and want to remain so as you age, these are must-haves. Another experience just occured a few days ago. I woke up with vertigo causing extreme dizziness. Anybody sensitive to motion knows how miserable this is. I called Integrated Wellness on a Friday. They worked to get me in with Dr. Pyne for a chiropractic adjustment and Dr. Becky for some physical therapy before closing at noon. Dr. Pyne gives a fantastic adjusment and has saved me from misery more times than i can remember, and this time was no exception. Then, Dr. Becky took me through a treatment for Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo which occurs as a result of displaced otoconia, which are small crystals of calcium carbonate, that have detached from the inner ear and collect in the semicircular canals of the year. The treatment included a series of head movements that shift these particles back to the inner ears, alleviating the severe sensation of motion. Shockingly, the effect was immediate. Vertigo was gone. My weekend would proceed as planned. Honorable mention to PTA John who kept me laughing through the yacking. I was even offered a shot for nausea afterward to help with any lingering effects. Additionally, Dr. Becky walked me through a series of protocols that I can practice to build better tolerance to motion with the goal of enjoying some of my favorite activities without getting sick, every.single.time. I am constantly recommending Integrated Wellness to everyone who complains of pain. Go in with a clear objective and make decisions with your health care provider there. Be clear on what your insurance will cover and what you're willing or able to invest. To me, long term mobility and high quality of life are everything, and I'm lucky to have this exceptional resource right here in Bountiful. Bonus- Integrated Wellness has a massage therapy studio upstairs with some of the best therapists anywhere. They are well studied in the field of anatomy and physiology, and go beyond a basic feel good massage. And the prices are ridiculously reasonable.
